The battery doesn't last very long at all. It went from 80% to 17% in 45 minutes when we were streaming a service at church. I had to scramble to get the laptop plugged in before it died and dropped our feed. This computer has been average at best.

Posted .Hello, The Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop model #81Y6000DUS ships with a 4CELL_60WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer battery with a life of up to 5 hours. This laptop is meant for gaming and demanding applications so the hardware inside requires more power to operate. Especially under heavy usage scenarios like streaming. There are some things you can do to maximize your battery life. Here is a link to tips for getting more battery life within Windows 10: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20443/windows-10-battery-saving-tips . Also be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Cannot go over 16gb. Own video graphics card which will not grab system memory and slow down computer... lighted keyboard which you can change the 4 quads to different colors... nice separate number pad. Keyboard is off slight because I was not use to number pad but def like the feature. $800 is a steal... which I got it for.

On both fronts, I am loving this purchase. I was hesitant to purchase a PC Gaming Laptop due to the gaudy design of most, and this one is both sleek and minimalistic and runs the indie games I like to play extremely well. So this works perfectly for my casual gaming and as my day-to-day laptop.

My new goto brand for laptops

I don't use it for games so I only had to uninstall xbox and the antivirus program sense I use norton360. I do wish that is came with a built in sd card reader. I really like the battery charging features that keeps it from charging to 100% if it is plugged in all the time, easy to change it to charge 100% if going to be going on battery power.

The screen is beautiful, the keyboard feels amazing and hey it lights up too that pretty cool. I guess my one and only comment would be that its a tiny bit annoying that the trackpad isn't in the middle of the device. I find myself accidently right-clicking sometimes.
