This is my first Lenovo laptop. The box was punctured in several places when I picked it up yesterday. Which was what I was hoping to avoid by picking it up rather than having it shipped given how packages often end up when delivered to my apartment. I brought it home, unwrapped it, and tried turning it on. It would not turn on. I have never bought a laptop that needed to be charged before first start up and I doubt Lenovo is the exception to that rule. It did eventually start up, but never turned on properly. (Glitching, etc.) It got put back in the box and will be returned first thing tomorrow. I don't know if this is a Lenovo issue or a Best Buy issue, but it's an issue.

The worst computer Iverson ever bought!! I wish I could return it or exhange it. The computer constantly freezes and sometimes shuts down. Its somehow slower than my last computer, even though this one has WAY better specs. I was so excited for this computer looking at all the good reveiws! The reality was a slap in the face. Not worth purchasing at ALL.

Good Deal. Why? PRICE. I'm going to write up advice/issues now but this is a great laptop because PRICE. [1k$ all together] RAM: 8 gb, effectively 6. This is absurd. You have to upgrade. HD: 512GB is below average. Depends on your use case but if you want this to be your main gaming unit you'll probably want to upgrade this to at least 1TB. GPU: the Nvidia 3050 was a price gouge cash grab card from Nvidia due to pandemic/shipping issues. The days of the 1080ti are over. This is a mediocre gpu. NOISE: This is a big one for me personally. The fans aren't loud but they're at that perfect level of whine that is irritating. Plan to wear headphones if you're in a quiet area. You can do meta(fn)+q to set the machine to 'quiet' mode which helps. the meta+q switching is actually pretty neat. meta q to; balanced, gaming, or quiet. CAVEAT: I'm not extensively gaming with this. I wanted 17" screen for work and maybe to hit up some Baldurs Gate 3 or Flight Sim stuff occasionally. Runs fine but I'm also; 1080p is fine, 50fps is fine. If you want that 1440p at 120fps and you're looking in this price range you're not going to have a good time.
