I'll start by saying I really want to love this machine and give it 5 stars but I just can't. This is my first "gaming" laptop I have used and bought after building and being a desktop PC guy for the last 10years. We'll start with the pros.
Aesthetics:
This laptop looks and feels premium. The white color looks great on your home desk or on the go when you're out. It doesn't give off a "gaming" laptop vibe.
Performance:
The version I have is the i7 4060 model. For the price point (mine was on sale when purchased) it is a great acquisition. I only game on this and do minimal CPU work loads. The 4060 keeps up just fine with no stuttering or tearing, etc. AAA games like CoD, warzone, Siege, run great and can get a constant 130-150fps on CoD with high to medium settings. More visually demanding games like "Once Human" run and operate without issue getting above 110fps consistently.
Keyboard:
The keyboard is nice to type on and game on. The chassis is fairly rigid with some flex and there is a decent amount of key travel until actuation. Overall a good keyboard, not the best, but not the worst. It's an okay experience and passable.
Cons
Battery:
I understand this is a gaming laptop and needs AC power to really perform. I know that, you know that, we all know that; however I can only get about 3-4 hours of battery doing light non gaming tasks. Video content consumption, internet browsing, etc. It's almost embarrassing. Now since I use this for 95% gaming and always have it plugged in it is not a big deal but it might be to you. Your use case may be different than mine. Do not even think about gaming without the power plugged in, you'll get a whooping 40-60min until its drained..yikes
One thing to note, and not necessarily a con but be aware of the heat. This thing throws heat like Pedro Martinez in the 90s. The fans do a great job of trying to cool it and it stays within the "safe" range but it is mandatory to buy some sort of cooling pad or elevated stand to give the fans room to blow out all that hot air. The fans are also fairly loud but it isn't noticeable if you have on earbuds/headset.
Overall this is a great laptop, especially if its on sale and you can get it cheaper than the listed price currently.
I would suggest this to others but make sure to do your own research before buying! Hope this helps!

After using the Lenovo Legion 7i for a while, I can confidently say it’s one of the best laptops I’ve ever owned—especially for the price I got it at. I have the model with an Intel Core i7 and an RTX 4060, and the performance has been super solid. Whether I’m running heavy programs, multitasking with a ton of tabs, or just casually gaming, it handles everything without slowing down or overheating.
The display is really sharp and smooth, especially with the high refresh rate—it makes everything feel more responsive. I also like how the keyboard feels to type on; it’s comfortable, has customizable RGB lighting, and doesn’t feel cheap like some other gaming laptops. The build quality overall is really sturdy, and it doesn’t feel bulky but it is still heavy .
One of the only downsides is the battery life—it’s decent, but this kind of performance definitely eats through it pretty fast if you’re not plugged in. Also, the fans can get loud under heavy load, but that’s kind of expected with a machine like this.

This laptop is AMAZING for gaming/productivity/work on a budget. The ONLY things holding it back are battery life (could use the new Intel Core Ultra Series 2 as an upgrade) and the Touchpad.
Performance is quite good! Cooling is good albeit a bit loud. The keyboard is really good (typical Lenovo affair) although the lighting software kept resetting our customization (we set it to be white, and it kept going back to rainbow puke)
LOVE the fact that it has a full sized SD card reader. Love that it can charge VIA USB C. Love the numpad (with a full sized 0 key!) LOVE the display at 240hz it's so smooth!

I would like to say that the staff at the Savannah Ga location are amazing. After the Zephyrus ordeal (posted on that product review) and the time spent finding the right pc they couldn't have been more wrong in any way. This computer by far puts the others to shame. I have amazing blazing speed, amazing display, speakers are a little quieter than expected but still plenty loud, the refresh rate is unrealistic how amazing and fast it is not to mention this machine can handle anything you throw instance whilst having WoW open dual screened on 1 screen I opened subway surf on the other then WoW and Fortnite no lag no slow down no over heating. The RGB lighting is amazing as well. Others have said that these fans are loud but I just don't hear them any louder than any other laptop I've owned in this nature to be honest. AMAZING DEVICE GREAT JOB LENOVO GREAT JOB BESTBUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I researched gaming computers in depth to choose one for my son whose 5 year old MSI died. I chose the Lenovo Legion 7i and so far it's been great. We've had a small glitch with the wi-fi lagging/dropping but that may just be our wifi connection. Overall, I would recommend this computer. The display is beautiful, it's fairly quiet, it's fast and handles the games he throws at it (flight simulators and 1st person shooter games). However, our Best Buy experience was not good. I ordered an "open-box EXCELLENT laptop". My order indicated the unit's Open Box ID number, that it would be in perfect condition with the original packaging and all parts. The laptop I received was labeled "GOOD" condition, was not in its original box, had no packaging aside from a shipping box and bubble wrap. The shipping box was WAY too big for the laptop so it was sliding around all over the place in the box. This laptop that was supposed to be in excellent condition was around $1400 and it arrived in a box that was too big and looked like someone had played soccer with it. On top of that, there was no discount given for the difference in condition from "Excellent" to "Good". No notification that they shipped an item that was not what I ordered aside from a label on the laptop that said "Good Condition" and indicated a different Open Box ID than the one on my order confirmation. I honestly feel like Best Buy tried to pull one over on me and it's very disappointing. I am a regular at Best Buy. I've probably purchased 4 gaming gaming computers, 2/3 MacBooks, so many televisions, headphones, sound bars etc over the years and I feel betrayed. I did find another open box Excellent Lenovo Legion 7i at another store and picked it up rather than ship it. It was beautifully packaged in all of the original packaging and the price had even dropped by a few dollars since my initial order. All in all, my son loves his laptop and I do recommend it but Best Buy should have done better.

The Lenovo Legion 7i impresses with its premium build, high-end performance, and a crisp 240Hz display, making it ideal for serious gamers and creators. Its advanced cooling system keeps temperatures in check, even during intense sessions, while the keyboard offers a comfortable, responsive experience. The battery life could be better, but overall, it’s a powerhouse for those needing top-tier graphics and speed in a sleek, portable package. Perfect for gaming and multitasking, it strikes a balance between power and style

Purchased an openbox laptop since I did not want to spend a lot of money on a new one.
What I liked about this laptop is the computer display. It's so bright, nice keyboard RGB lights. I also liked how I can connect this laptop to my phone then just view all my cp messages on the computer.
Everything aboutr this laptop is great except for it's battery only lasting for 5hrs.

Hi, Jhajha. Thank you for choosing Lenovo! For some insight, this system features a higher power draw, HX series processor, GPU and high refresh rate display. These features can attribute to rapid battery loss due to the system, by default, supplying the best performance possible. In the Lenovo Vantage app under the Device tab, then Power, you can make adjustments to extend battery life, should that be a priority. We are glad to hear that your Legion 7i has been great, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

The Lenovo Legion 7i is hands down one of the most impressive gaming laptops I’ve ever used. From the moment I fired it up, the raw performance was undeniable — this machine flies. Whether I’m running AAA games on ultra settings, streaming, or multitasking with heavy workloads, the Legion 7i handles it all without breaking a sweat.
The 2.5K display is absolutely gorgeous — crisp, fast, and fluid. Games look stunning with the high refresh rate and sharp resolution, and the Legion Coldfront cooling system keeps temps in check even during marathon sessions. It’s built like a tank, but still sleek and premium.
What really sets Lenovo apart, though, is their customer service. Their support team is responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful — something you don’t always get with big brands these days. That peace of mind makes a huge difference.
If you’re serious about gaming and want a machine that delivers desktop-class performance in a portable form, the Legion 7i is a beast — and Lenovo’s support makes it a smart long-term investment too. Highly recommended!

Bought for speed and expandability

I bought this on sale for a combination of both work and gaming.
The main thing I was looking for was expandability - and that was for the work side. A lot of what I do uses memory like crazy and being able to upgrade on my own without paying a premium was nice. It is now sitting with 64 GB of Kingston Fury (5600) in it and a secondary WD Black 2 TB data SSD that I added myself.
It does seem to have decent battery life as long as I'm not gaming / using the 4060 GPU etc. at full power. If I am gaming then it really does need to be plugged in if since it seemed to only last about 45 minutes (I didn't time it - just a guesstimation) running everything at full blast / highest settings.
Heat doesn't seem to be a problem and even though it does get warm when gaming - very warm - but never passed the max thermal levels for any of the components. For work use heat isn't bad and either way when using it at home, I keep it on a laptop cooler.
I do like the display and seems fine with an external monitor hooked up to it also. Sound is okay but a bit "tinny". I haven't tried tweaking the sound settings or anything though.
One thing you should do if you purchase is check for and perform any / all updates. Mine not only had the normal and expected Windows updates pending but also a Lenovo / firmware update.
Overall satisfied and hoping to get at least several years or so of use.

Overall very happy with the product for the price. My only complaint is the low battery life but that is to be expected while running high-graphic games and software. I love the clean look of the white and it looks very professional and not just your typical gaming laptop. Additionally, I like the option to upgrade some of the memory etc. to enhance its performance if that's what you're looking for. A lot of customizable options and the graphics are beautiful. So far I have run God of War, Ghosts of Tushima and Lords of the Fallen with no issue except for a slight lag the first time you open these applications.

I love this computer for playing games and hanging out with friends online. My only complaint is that the speakers are horrible. Good luck comfortably watching anything without headphones (especially discord stream shares.) The battery life also isn't the best. I can maybe get 45 minutes of battery gameplay max. I usually always need it plugged in or it would die mid-game. Other than that, it's convenient that I can play games anywhere I have decent internet and power, and it's pretty.

Hi, Melg, thank you for choosing Lenovo! Regarding your issue with battery – for some context, with the Legion 7i there are a few variables that a major factors in battery life, like the HX CPU and 130W TGP GPU. Under heavy game workloads, as you've seen, that amount of power can slurp your battery right up. If you want to squeeze out more battery and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, we recommend utilizing the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Vantage. We are glad to hear that your Legion 7i has been good for your gaming needs, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

Hey AlexandraL,
Thank you for choosing Lenovo and for sharing your feedback with us!
Regarding your issue with battery – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even more power conservation.
We are glad to hear that otherwise you couldn't be happier with your Legion 7i.

When it comes to specs it is more than enough to play anything! Beautiful RGB keyboard with many light modes to chose from! And its very fast in general! The only con is the battery life, but as long as you have brightness down and its sat on a cool area its fine. But hey, its a laptop what do you expect? And in case you do not know, when you play any game, it must be kept plugged in so that the laptop can play in its max/regular performance for most games! This goes for every laptop in case you didn’t know!
