Have a desktop that I use for gaming and productivity at home but my work requires me to travel frequently. Wouldn’t recommend as a rig if you don’t move often, better money is spent on a desktop in that case. For MSRP especially, 1300 you could build a killer 1440p machine for that, but even at the price I got it for ($850) you could build a decent 1440p or killer 1080p for that. Great for a gamer on the go though and shouldn’t be bought unless on sale in my opinion.

Big issue is the battery life but that’s to be expected. I also had a problem with the monitor developing a constant shadow after 2 weeks, but that’s mostly just a visual problem.

Regarding your issue with battery – as you know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more. If you want to squeeze out more battery and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, we recommend utilizing the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the GPU to greatly decrease power draw when not needed. Also, you can use the Lenovo Vantage application that is preinstalled to adjust settings related to power and battery performance. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words. Other than this, we are glad to hear that your Legion Slim is working great for you, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

I can customize the keyboard lighting, play my fav games, and get my work done. There were some things I had to fix when I got it, like getting the screen to turn back on after it sleeps. It was a pain. The charger is also bulky. Given the deal I got, though, t’s worth it. You just need to be able to clean up a few things so it works well.
