Avoid Sacramento CA Best Buy!!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer freezes almost every time that it is on for more than 20 minutes. The screen flickers like crazy. About half of the time that I turn it on, the screen is so dim, that I can barely see it, and using the setting and the keyboard screen brightness controls, does absolutely nothing. I have tried about 20 times to call the Sacramento CA, Best Buy that I purchased this laptop from, but it always disconnects before I get to a live person. I can't believe that I wasted almost $1,700 on this piece of garbage. I will never buy anything from Best Buy, again.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15 Gaming Laptop, model number 82K80081US. First, regarding the screen brightness manual adjustment, if you are unable to manually adjust the screen brightness to a brightness level of your choice, check to be sure that Auto-Brightness is turned off. Here is a link to instructions for doing this:  https://www.howtogeek.com/772783/how-to-turn-off-auto-brightness-on-windows-10-or-11/#:~:text=In%20Windows%2011%2C%20click%20small,After%20that%2C%20close%20Settings. Regarding the Legion Slim 7 freezing, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10/11. This includes any legacy software/games you have installed from an old computer. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If there is no incompatible software installed but the issues persist, check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10/11 on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10/11. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Legion Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo Legion utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Legion Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Legion Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Legion Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10/11. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Legion Ultimate Support for additional help, let the Legion Gaming Expert you talk with know about the troubleshooting steps you have already taken, at: 888-278-9707.

Bad purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After much thinking about it, I bought a Lenovo Legion which made me really happy because i had been planning to buy a computer for so much time. A friend of mine that lives in the USA brought it for me to Argentina (where I live) and when I started using it, the sound worked terribly. I’ve made all the updates that the technic support told me and the failure is still there. My friend is going back to the USA so I was going to return it, but the policy of best buy gives you only a few days to return it. Consequently, now I will have to stick with a new computer that is damaged since it was bought at your store. I expected a solution from Best Buy, because I bought it there and they should answer for the failure. However, now I came to the conclusion that getting a lenovo legion was a BAD PURCHASE, and that I shouldn’t have bought anything from best buy because they have a BAD POLICY. Finally, I regret trusting Lenovo and Best Buy , because it was clearly a BIG MISTAKE

READ BEFORE YOU BUY - BASIC FUNCTION MISSING
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How can you sell a laptop that has such faulty USB C ports. When I plug my external SSD into the USB C port, it disconnects and reconnects erratically. You spend this much money and such a basic function isn't reliable. Thanks a lot lenovo and shame on best buy for selling this garbage. And before you question it, I updated the BIOS and drivers associated with the problem, yet the issue persists. Not happy at all as I use this for work and can't afford the waste of time.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.how to start well I do not recommend buying open box products since unfortunately they lie when they say that they will come with the original accessories, they gave me a charger with less watts, buying the original would cost me $200 when you claim it they give you the option to return it but in the end dali losing $100 dollars it is unfortunate that they take advantage of customers in that way

RGB keyboard BestBuy at fault
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Listed as an RGB keyboard by BestBuy spoke with Lenovo support twice. Both calls lasting 2 hours with their support trying to resolve the RGB issue. Note that non-RGB keyboard is not a deal breaker but if im paying nearly $1700 for something it should work as advertised. Unfotunately it isnt an RGB keyboard and BestBuy will not cprrect the issue.

Nope
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wasn’t impressed with the overall quality it went on sale the day after I bought it. I bought a opened box for about $250 off and today it went on sale for $250 less. They wouldn’t take an additional 250 off basically wanted me to Buy an open package for the same price as new. If I could give it zero stars I would. 3050ti with a 4K screen for 16000 is a joke.

||Posted . Pretty disappointed as I really wanted to like this laptop!

WOW! WOW! WOW!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Too much to say about this Laptop! After a large amount of deep research, this is the best Laptop for video editing, even though it js a mid-priced gaming Laptop. We are not using it for gaming, but using for video editing. This is the lightest gaming Laptop out there with great features! Fingerprint login on power button is a really nice bonus!!! Trust me, I compared Laptops for weeks before I was sure that this was by far the best you can get for under $2000 (I paid $1400)!!! The latest Ryzen 9 processor and the Nividia video card is an amazing performing pair, and with 16gb solid state (partially expandable) & 1 TB of memory, this will be a solid performer for a long time. Built very well! Extremely light for a high lerformance Laptop!

Works great as a portable Linux workstation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop to do kubernetes container development on a portable linux platform - it comes with windows. Wiped it and installed Fedora Workstation using Cinnamon Desktop spin. Two main challenges: 1) Nvidia drivers for linux need custom install and its a bit of a hassle to do, but work fine - need to set graphics mode to discrete in bios, and 2) the realtek wireless network card requires a custom driver that you need to download, build and install into the kernel. Minor inconveniences if you want/need linux on the laptop. Laptop is fast, works great, even with Linux, but battery life is ~4 hours in general. Display is wonderful and if you can see that small, native 4K is pretty stellar. If you need a great linux laptop, this is worth considering.

Great Editing Rig on the Go
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a video editor, colorist, and do some motion graphics and needed to pick something up immediately to work remotely from home during the holidays. As far as this model goes? It's a very solid choice, especially for the price. If you're a creative type like me, here's what you need to know that Best Buy won't display in Tech Specs: Bit Depth: 10-Bit Color Format: RGB Color Space: HDR HDR Certification: VESA DisplayHDR 400 (1.1)/Dolby Vision Peak Brightness: 603 nits Max Refresh Rate: 60Hz For me, for what I need this for, it's nearly perfect. The RTX 3050 Ti GPU is a bit of a let down given all the hype around this generation of NVIDIA GPUs, but it's still pretty good. Doom: Eternal and Halo Infinite have to be cranked all the way down, and I set both games down to 1920x1080 for good measure. But! Halo: MCC runs incredibly. Personally, I don't think there's any reason for any laptop to have a monitor resolution above 1440p. But, when I went to Best Buy there wasn't anything else available, and I for sure needed the high-end graphics and CPU for rendering effects and video out of Premiere Pro. The speakers are alright. I'm not blown away, and still get much better sound quality from my Beyerdynamic DT 770s 80 OHM headphones. But, considering most of my clients are reviewing my products on latops, tablets, and iPhones, it's pry not a bad way to check my audio either.
