Absolutely more than expected. It has been since I bought it and continues to keep up with the times. I now plug it into a bigger monitor and use it like a desktop without that huge mess in the way. Love it…

Quick Legion Slim 7 vs Legion 7 Comparison

Note this unit has the Ryzen 9 5900HX with the RTX 3050 Ti on the Slim 7 while the top spec Legion 7 I tried had the i9 11980HK with the RTX 3080.
Biggest take away, other than the power:
1.) I am not exactly sure on the panel manf and I did not do individual testing but the Legion 7's screen felt WAY better. In fact it's one of the best screens I've ever seen ever on any laptop. Maybe edged out by the new 16" MacBook Pros. But while not bad, the Slim 7's screen seemed boring?
2.) Legion Slim 7 is lighter but because of the dimensions the feel in had is much more comfortable too if doing any work off desk. They both have the lip in the back for battery and vent and this creates the perfect handle grip while propping the base on top of your forearm and typing with the other hand.
Other notes:
Research settings to get the most battery life out of either unit. (For example turning dedicated graphics card off while on battery, deleting iCue software, etc...)
Both keyboards are excellent to get work done.
Love the low key but elegant design on both units.
Things I'm not the biggest fan of:
1. iCue software controlling the RGB light settings is a pain. It isn't at the bios level so when computer boots or comes to wake from sleep it does the rainbow flashy thing before going to my sedate white or blue static setting. Also if this is not deleted it will continue to drain battery even without any applications running.
2. While the individual keys are solid, I was not the biggest fan of the layout. I prefer a TKL setup so the F and J keys are centered. I do not like to lift my hands from this position to reach any and all keys. Even number input is faster for me this way. Only exception is when I am holding a piece of paper in one hand and pecking numbers with a finger. This numpad however is like 3/4 sized? Maybe I need to get used to it more and get it into muscle memory but I keep hitting the edge of keys so the key stroke doesn't register.
3. Design of hinge. It is solid. But I prefer the large center single hinge mechanism found on MacBooks and Razer laptops versus this dual exposed tiny hinge system on either edge that Lenovo employs.
-- This was not a comprehensive review but just some quick notes I wanted to mention that I did not notice in other reviews while researching before purchase.
All in all, Lenovo made a portable, buttoned up 15" carrying a 3050 Ti. You will know if this is what you are looking for.
After using the full blown Legion 7, the step down in power was alright for me but I really wasn't happy with the step in screen quality.

It’s an amazing computer, So far he has been the greatest investment that I could ever make. There’s a couple of things, though, that I wanna talk about. First, The battery. When are you playing intensely the battery goes low in maybe 2hrs. Second, it gets very warm when you are intensively playing. Third, the antivirus it came pre-installed is a pain in the behind. To remove it from my computer it’s hell, literally. Overall, I love my computer I’m happy with it.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15 Gaming Laptop, Content Creator's configuration, model number 82K80081US. This model ships with a Integrated 71Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this configuration, has a battery life of up to 5 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. It is normal for the Legion Slim 7 to feel warm to the touch when under heavy workloads. The Lenovo Legion Slim 7, ships with a 30-day trial of McAfee Virus Protection Software installed. It will activate automatically with the initial activation of Windows Operating System and protect your computer for the 30-day trial period. You do not need to use McAfee VPS. You can uninstall McAfee and use the free Windows Defender VPS that comes with Windows or you can uninstall McAfee and then install your choice of any compatible 3rd party VPS. The key is to uninstall McAfee if you will not be using it, as there can only be one active VPS on the computer at a time. Here is a link to information on uninstalling McAfee from Windows: https://service.mcafee.com/webcenter/portal/oracle/webcenter/page/scopedMD/s55728c97_466d_4ddb_952d_05484ea932c6/Page29.jspx?wc.contextURL=%2Fspaces%2Fcp&articleId=TS101331&_afrLoop=1355161020222084&leftWidth=0%25&showFooter=false&showHeader=false&rightWidth=0%25¢erWidth=100%25#!%40%40%3FshowFooter%3Dfalse%26_afrLoop%3D1355161020222084%26articleId%3DTS101331%26leftWidth%3D0%2525%26showHeader%3Dfalse%26wc.contextURL%3D%252Fspaces%252Fcp%26rightWidth%3D0%2525%26centerWidth%3D100%2525%26_adf.ctrl-state%3Dx25crirbo_9. Pretty good for gaming, I'm using it for 1080p gaming but it tries to default itself at 4k!
Downside was that I had touchpad issues on my device, it was as if it wasn't multitouch so a mouse is a must unless i had a defective device.
Make sure you return it within 15 days for the exchange or refund incase you aren't a fan.

Overall, so far, so good. The weight and battery life are good.
The limitations are as follows:
a) Has crashed a couple of times when there were multiple browser tabs open.
b) The number of external ports. There is enough real estate for additional external ports.
c) The power cable connecting to the back of the laptop is made of rather inflexible plastic material; can be improved to a more flexible rubbery material.
d) For a gaming laptop, the refresh rate should be > 60 Hz.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15 Gaming Laptop. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on-screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

It’s a gaming laptop with lots of power but not too much, can’t run dying light 2 on ultra; it gets really laggy, but it gets the job done. I wish it had more usb ports but I bought a usb extender so it’s alright. Good for gaming on medium settings. The laptop itself is prone to fingerprints so you gotta watch out for that. I use it for college mainly, but it’s not bad for gaming. If you play your cards right then it can be a solid machine for both gaming and work stuff like college and whatnot.

With a speedy and sleek design, this gaming laptop allows for accessibility and seamless keyboarding. It is comfortable to maneuver and has a logical layout. Settings are easy to access, and it is free from the clutter most new laptops have. There is a bit of a lengthy personalization process when the computer first starts up. This laptop can handle a heavy load, tons of browsers, games and other applications may be left open and accessed simultaneously without effecting the operating speed.

Works great for work, personal use, gaming, etc. Switching between modes to use more computing power when necessary is awesome. Good graphics, love the OLED screen. Overall I love it! Battery is pretty good, could be better. I do tend to do some tasks that use a lot of power though, so it could just be my use cases.

personally not knowing much about computers but still knowing enough. I have had the laptop for about a month now and being a first time PC gamer this is a great laptop. it will run all the game i want to play including the newest titles. beautiful design. the only thing keeping from 5 stars is the lack of USB ports on it, no network port and no HDMI port.

Very fast and lightweight. Bought to record myself playing beatsaber and stream on twitch. Cannot figure out settings to do that - it seems like it should be powerful enough based on specs but the video card somehow maxes out when trying to have both programs open. Otherwise great computer if not trying to play pcvr & stream at same time, or if you have the patience and knowledge to figure out how to make it work.

Originally bought an ASUS, set it up, next day, would not get me to login screen so returned it and bought this and have been happy ever since. Great laptop, my first gaming laptop and love the graphics on it. Using it to play Skyrim right now and no glitching at all. Everything is fast, downloading, internet, videos, gaming. Everything's great about this, especially the display. Beautiful, even compared to my 4k desktop monitor. While it doesn't have HDMI, it does offer DP1.4 over a simple USB-C to HDMI adapter, providing 4k60 on both screens.
The only real issue was that 16GB isn't enough for my purposes, and no official upgrade exists for beyond 24GB. Nevertheless, I installed a 32GB module, giving me 40GB total, and it works perfectly, and improves performance slightly. I used a G-Skill 3200.

I LOVE this laptop. I use it for machine learning programming. It is very fast and I like that I can use NVidia GPU hardware acceleration for machine learning tasks from WSL Linux subsystem running in Windows. Another important detail that this laptop has a high quality NON-GLARE screen, which is now rare, as everybody else is busy parroting glossy Apple screens that look like mirrors.
