Firstly I only gave 4 stars and not 5 due to location of USB-C connections, the huge power brick and the bloatware that came on it. However, on the bright side of things, this laptop exceeded my needs. 1. Extremely fast boot up (about 15 secs) and it is ready to crush your enemies. 2. Screen refresh rate (165mhz) makes my game (WoW) so smooth it looks almost lifelike. 3, It is slimmer than all my previous gaming systems and is light as well. 4. Complete RGB key lighting with software configuration. So all my keys change colors depending on what I am doing. 5. Wifi 6 compatible so it makes my mesh connections just speed along. Although it does not have a RJ45 port, so that sucks. I can not say enough good things about this unit. However, I do have some gripes. 1. This thing is a fingerprint magnet. If you think about touching it, it will already have a print on it. They do not come off easy either. 2. There is no separate keys for left/right click on touchpad. so if you get dust/dirt/crumbs near your touchpad you will get it inside the laptop easily. 3. Adding additional SSD is easy, but documentation is not clear on where the memory is located and how much is in each slot. 4. Lenovo is trying to upsell services via the software update program. Well if you know anything about updating, upgrading, or keeping your rig running it's best, these can get annoying. All in all, I am happy I got this and look forward to many many years for putting this laptop through it's paces.

Great Laptop with one HUGE downside

I've had this laptop for a couple months now, and it's made a great replacement for my old PC setup. I thought I'd have some trouble transitioning from my PC to the laptop, but it's a strong laptop and does great for my schoolwork, art programs, and games. Now what prompted me to write this review is a problem I've been having with connecting this laptop to a second monitor. This laptop does NOT have an HDMI port, which I didn't think would be much of an issue, but after dealing with constant connectivity issues and the second screen randomly going black (which has happened with multiple cables and several different monitors), I can confidently say I wouldn't recommend this laptop if you plan on getting it for gaming with a second monitor. It's a simple fix of replugging it in, but boy is it ever annoying to deal with. The slim design makes it great for portability, so if you're wanting it for taking it on-the-go it's a great choice, but I wish I'd known I'd be having all these problems with the second monitor when I got it, I may have made a different choice. And if you're planning on plugging a bunch of stuff into it, you don't have many USB ports in general, so that means more adapters and weaker connections...

Solid mid gaming laptop. Love the slim form and build quality. Been running most of my steam catalog on highest settings with great frame rates. Battery life not great while gaming (about 3 hours) but always charge after a session. Added a 1 tb SSD easily using guitar pick as pry tool after removing the screws. Recommend getting tool kit set with 3 small Phillips screwdrivers so you don't strip the many different screws.

Would give 5 stars for the price along, got for $1099 on sale, but want to be accurate with my opinion on the product. Pros: • Lenovo Build Quality and Support • Excellent KB • 165 HZ Display w/ great color • Fast Hardware (for price) • Small Form Factor • Mux Switch (Ability to turn off GPU and run integrated graphics for significant battery savings.) • Great asthetics (not over gamer looking.) Cons: • 8 GB soldered memory (upgradable to 40gb) • 3060 is mid tier - maxing at 100 watts (though you can hit 110w with tweaks.) • 512 gb SSD, would liked 1TB (upgradable) • Laggy Wifi (upgradeable) • Screen isn't the brightest • Fans can ramp up and be a little noisy (You won't notice it though if you have any decent audio solution.) Conclusion: If you can grab this on sale of 1k-1.2k, it's a steal. Then upgrade the SSD (1 open gen 3 m2 slot), and WiFi (Ax210 or better) for about $80 more - you start punching way above its weight. One last note is on the material is made of. Some people prefer metal or plastic to the rubberized finish on this laptop because it attracts fingerprints. I'm indifferent and think it actually looks good and it's fairly simple to clean. Great laptop overall though!

I went through 2 laptops before I tried this one (MSI Stealth and Surface Studio). This is the one I ended up with and I am happy with the purchase. My biggest concern was battery life, but if you lower the refresh to 60hz and put in battery saver, you get 5+ hours. My only real complaint is the charger is ridiculous for a laptop, I recommend purchasing a small USB-C charger for travel. Pros: -Sturdy Build -Quick Shortcuts for performance -Keyboard lights can be easily adjusted (if you are at work, you probably don't want your keyboard to look like a music festival) -Solid FPS on all games including new world -Quiet Cons: -The screen could be better higher res. Wish they had gone with a 4k, it feels low res compared to the 4k model (for good reason). -The charger is way to big

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15 Gaming Laptop, model number 82K80083US. This high performance configuration requires a 230W external power supply, Dual Voltage, slim tip - Device side (3-pin, USA Compatible wall side) AC adapter/charger, 100-240V, 50-60Hz. The maximum wattage current USB-c AC adapter/chargers can support is 100W, which will not power or charge this Legion Slim 7 at maximum performance settings. This model configuration ships with a gamer's configuration screen: 15.6 inch (screen size measured diagonally) IPS - FHD (1920x1080) screen, with a brightness level of 300 nits, has an Anti-glare Coating, a refresh rate of 165Hz. This screen provides 100 Percent of the sRGB color gamut for excellent color accuracy. This screen is Dolby Vision, Free-Sync and G-Sync Certified. This screen uses DC dimmer for added eye care. Additionally, this model configuration ships with a Integrated 71Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this configuration, has a battery life of up to 6 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. For maximum battery life, try setting Power Management to Hybrid Mode. Some other battery saving tips are to set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 11 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://websiteforstudents.com/how-to-find-what-is-running-in-windows-11/. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 11. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of your Windows 11 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Legion Ultimate Support for more tips about configuring your Legion Slim 7 for maximum battery life or for high performance gaming at: 888-278-9707. I am not a gamer, I purchased this because of the reviews and great sale. Mostly it's for work and photography. The pros the picture is amazing, it's definitely fast and the color options keyboard are pretty cool overall I love it but the cons are the battery it drains fast so I almost always have it plugged in just keep that in mind and I'm starting to have some issues with the keypad where I have to tap it a few times for it to close a program or make a choice so I'm concerned on that considering I've only had it about 2 weeks and at first it seemed over sensitive the pointer moved too easy. Time will tell nothing is perfect.

I purchased this in used-like new condition to save a hundred dollars. About a month after purchase it had suddenly shut down and wouldn’t power back on on. I had not dropped or damaged the device in any way and was felling upset and disappointed. I was able to mail it in for repairs, under the warranty, and it was repaired/restored at no additional cost. Has been working without any additional issues. I purchased this to use for college classes, though I will occasionally play a game on it. I like the design, and it is easy to operate, I will update if any additional issues arise. I hope to get a reasonable amount of years out of it and as long as that is met, my purchase will be satisfactory and I would repurchase.

The laptop itself is exactly what o was looking for, Power along with portability. Don’t let the the talk of the RTX 3060-Q max being underpowered dissuade you. So far it’s been able to handle all of the games I’ve downloaded. I’m not a hard-core gamer so I don’t have the huge power sucking games some of the other play, but so far it’s been able to handle all of the games I play( x-box game pass, EA, epic and all of the ones I have from steam. I also use it for VR and it’s been able to easily play Half-Life Alyx, Skyrim VR, Borderlands VR, Asgard’s Wrath and Lone Echo. For the price (bought during the holiday sale), the power and most importantly the quality build, I feel like I’ve gotten my money’s worth.

I've been using my older PC for going on 5 years. It's still in good shape and had pretty good specs when I got it to start with (for that matter it still has better specs than a lot of laptops on the market currently), but I finally had the opportunity to upgrade to something better and more suited for gaming, which is one thing my old PC lagged behind in. I checked into a few options, but decided to go with the Legion S7, and I am so glad I did. So far I have loved it! I went from barely able to run many games on low settings to running consistently 90-120fps on Epic settings. It has been such a huge difference in both graphics and performance, even better than I could have expected. I can't speak to the battery life as I generally play with it plugged in, but when I have used battery, it seems to be decent considering. I also love that it has a full keyboard, with the number keypad as well; it's a small thing and personal preference, but I am glad it's included. The customizable RGB backlight on the keyboard is also a nice touch and fun to mess around with, but of course wouldn't have been a deal breaker and can be turned off if in a situation the lights aren't appropriate (such as for work or school, etc). The fingerprint reader on the power button is also a nice touch. The metal casing on this laptop also makes it feel very sturdy and not flimsy or cheap like others I've used in the past. It definitely feels like it will hold up for quite some time, which is great. It may not be flashy on the outside like a lot of others, but it makes up for it and would honestly be great for people who like a simpler look or need something more professional if needed to double for work, etc. The one thing that I would consider a downside is I knew before I even got it that 512GB was not going to cut it for me, personally, as my old PC had a 1TB SSD and only had around 200GB of storage remaining. Luckily it does have a slot to add a second SSD, so I just went ahead and purchased a 1TB SSD at the same time so I could install it from the get-go, so I know I have plenty of space for now. Other than that one drawback (which was a super easy fix anyway), I've had nothing but good things to say about it in the three weeks or so I've had it so far, and I'm very glad I made the decision to purchase this over some of the others I was looking at. 9.5/10

This laptop can do almost everything but it does lack HDMI and an ethernet port. You can buy an adapter to correct that if desired. Through my wifi I'm getting 250 up/down which is solid. There isn't much you can throw at this laptop that it won't handle. I can find this in other laptops at this range but it's the keyboard that really sets it apart. With this iCue software you can get Wallpaper Engine from Steam and it will sync to your keyboard and Corsair/Razer mouse. It is really sweet. The keys are a cross between dome and switches with light travel. The keyboard just steals the show. It's an amazing laptop for this price point. They toss a couple more ports on this thing and sell it for over 2 grand.
