It surpassesy expectations in gaming and photo/video editing. Typically I use my desktop for editing, but I needed a new laptop for work so I decided to buy a gaming laptop so that I would be able to use it for photography as well. Very happy with this choice!!

The 16" Lenovo Slim 7i laptop has an atrocious battery even when I am not touching the laptop. It drains very fast while no programs are active and the minimal settings are used. The fans also often run while the machine is idle. So at that point, I should just buy an actual desktop PC, but certainly not one from Lenovo. Also, the overall design is bad for various reasons including the power button being a bright circle right behind the keyboard. It is extremely overpriced due to many reasons such as those, and the fact that the warranty is only 1 year. After 1 year, you need to pay just to get any kind of help beyond posting a thread in an open forum that will not get a reply. If there is any other option, it is not shown anywhere. So they do not stand behind their products, and they obviously did not test it since usually laptops do not have a giant, bright light by the keyboard and screen.

If you can catch a good sale, this is great buy. But I wish they didn't increase the wight & dimension. Battery life is surprisingly good! Fans are not loud. I'd definitely recommend this laptop.

Graphic card failure

Better then the Acer that wouldn’t even turn on. So I’m giving two stars for turning on and lasting a month. Best Buy determined that the graphics card went bad. Opted to return it and buy a different brand instead of sending it to the manufacturer for repairs. I’m a firm believer that if a product costs a lot of money then it shouldn’t break in a month. I’m happy that Best Buy has been accommodating and patient through this mess of poor quality from the manufacturers. I hope the next laptop works and lasts longer.

EXTREME OVERHEATING IN BAG

I used my laptop for several hours at a coffee shop, closed the lid, and stuck it in my bag like I usually do. A few hours later, I opened my bag to pull it out and it was really hot! The middle power button was blinking but it wouldn't turn on. I left it alone for a few minutes and it felt a little bit cooler. I held down the power button and it started to boot. I checked the lid options and it's set to sleep when closed. I'm nervous about it catching fire.

After using your computer under moderate to heavy workloads, then putting the computer into Sleep Mode, we recommend you place the computer in an area that will allow the computer to properly cool down with good airflow around the computer. You may want to shutdown your computer if it will be travelling in a case with limited airflow.
