They said it was just an “open-box” item, but the laptop was actually missing the protective foam, the packaging was very basic, and during use it keeps restarting, showing screen artifacts, and freezing. It has already happened six times in just half a month. I suspect the motherboard is faulty, and I’m getting ready to return it

This laptop is definitely a worthwhile purchase. It has enough performance out of the parts in it and is able to be upgraded with bigger storage and more RAM if desired. The ease of which you can switch between operating modes from quiet to performance is also a plus and it isn't too showy like lots of other gaming laptops. The battery life is fairly short when utilizing the dedicated GPU but if you put it in hybrid mode and only use the iGPU when not gaming it does last a bit longer. The laptop also isn't too heavy or bulky, the screen is a good size, the panel looks good, and the camera quality of the built in camera is good. Good purchase, especially on sale.

I have had this lovely pc for about 3 weeks now. The features i enjoy about this laptop is its performance the Hardware is spot on in terms of budget and performance. Being a gamer it runs literally everything at high at 120 hz or more some settings like dlss you have to tinker with. I tested Battlefield 6 on ultra and it ran a stable 100 fps more more. Games like league of legends, expedition 33, Black ops 7 (100-170 fps), and where winds meet all run very stable at 144 FPS (frames per second)
Battery isnt the best but there are plenty batteries that are worse. I got around 3 hours with laptop not plugged in playing where winds meet on ultra. I also utilized lenovo's app pre installed on the pc.(Very usefull). Doing college work with some music on in youtube i conquere a good 7-10 hours. Charge time is very good from 10% im at basically 100 in about 30-40 minutes.
Also Lenovo has pretty good customer support so far they helped answer my questions and even chatted like a person to me about games. Lol overall good computer.
And shout out to I think her name was Julie or something like that at the weatherford, Texas location . Best service i have gotten at any retail in years. She made me happy just talking to her. The last best buy sold me the wrong product and she corrected it and connected with my frustration. She went step by step and told me in detail what would happen with the return . And with the new laptop ordered she went through how i would recieve it each step as well as the shippers name . Hope best buy sees this I am very appreciative of her . Very good employee!

Amazing laptop. However, it’s only worth buying when it’s on sale for under $700.
Performance: 5/5 plays pretty much any game you want at a decent frame rate. However, I notice sometimes the games briefly freeze for half a second before recovering. Happens semi regularly. Think it’s just because the 50 series is still new and not fully compatible with everything yet.
Battery: 0/10 from full charge to 100, you get 1 hr 15 mins of browsing. And forget it if you’re playing games. You’ll get 20 mins. Not sure why the battery is so awful. Send to be a common complaint though. Even when brand new, this thing needs to be constantly plugged in.
Thermals: 4/5 it does a pretty good job for a smaller laptop. GPU and cpu temps don’t go above 75c. With a dedicated laptop cooler, it drops cpu and GPU temps by about 10-15 degrees Celsius
Noise: 4/5. It’s quiet, but can still be heard when gaming.
Display: 5/5 For how small the screen is, 1920x1080 is enough, especially when it’s running at 144hz. If the screen were any bigger, then a screen resolution bump would be warranted.
Other: I don’t that this is missing a right control key.
Wish it had more than 2 usb ports.

I’ve been using the Lenovo LOQ 15.6" Gaming Laptop for a few weeks, and overall I’m very happy with it. The Intel Core i5-13450HX and RTX 5050 combo handle everyday tasks smoothly, and it performs well in games at medium to high settings. The 16GB of memory also makes multitasking quick and responsive.
The Full HD screen looks sharp, and the colors are good for gaming and streaming. The laptop stays fairly cool during use, though the fans can get a bit loud during heavier games. The 512GB SSD is fast, but it may fill up quickly if you install multiple large games, so keep that in mind.
Build quality feels solid, and the Luna Grey finish looks clean and modern.
Overall, this laptop offers strong performance and good value for a mid-range gaming machine. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable gaming laptop without spending too much.

I got this on Black Friday for 649, and it delivers strong performance across a wide range of games.
It runs Fortnite, Helldivers, Arc Raiders, Red Dead Redemption 2, modded Minecraft, Satisfactory, and Breath of the Wild on CEMU at max settings, maintaining at least 60 FPS and often exceeding that. Overall, it handles demanding titles smoothly and performs reliably even under heavy loads. My only complaint is the battery life, which I view as a reasonable tradeoff since it functions more like a portable desktop that can be used on the go for a while, then plugged in for extended sessions.

Got mine on Sep 2, 2025, so it's ONLY 4 months old. A lot of issues. #1 The laptop speakers are EXTREMELY weak for this price point. You will need headphones or some type of soundbar/speakers if you're in to listening to any type of audio. #2 Many conflicts with the system configuring drivers, even for plug and play devices. #3 It runs hot for just a casual YouTube user or browsing the internet for something with an i5 Intel, special cooling, good fans, and 16gb Ram. #4 The keys are just a little too high for my liking. #5 The paint is already coming off where the palm rest for left or right-handed. use on the touch pad. Also wearing off from the Bezel #6 Upgrades are expensive. Lenovo wants us to get their stuff. For example, we have 2 slots for RAM. To add another 16gb of RAM that matches the original inside, $175-$200. It also says in the Lenovo Vantage app included that my power cord and adapter are not "OEM Original" asking if I want to buy one from them. It came packed new from Lenovo, just sold to me from Best Buy. Too many cons. MS Edge is the fastest broswer on this laptop, Chrome is horrible. This was recommended by a Geek employee at Best Buy. The only positive I see is that it is pretty quick, but maybe not enough for a true gamer laptop. Comes severely bloated. 2 stars only because it works. Have to restart a lot, as USB disconnects some devices frequently. Needs more ports. I will not be buying another Lenovo in the future. Learned my lesson. My old Acer lasted a long time, was faster and consistent, hardily any issues with half the RAM and a slower processor. Battery doesn't hold a charge well. The USB ports are loose already with minimal use, so is the 3.5mm Audio output. Where is the EQ? Not trying FXSound on this. It would probably toast the speakers instantly. Summary sentence. Steer clear from Lenovo. They didn't help me resolve issues when I called, Microsoft couldn't either. Saved by Reddit. Good luck finding your new laptop! Wish I hadn't listened to Best Buy, now it's too late to return it.

Bought this mainly for work and basic browsing and medium gaming. Handles everything with ease. Really fast start up and load times. Battery isnt the best, I usually average 2-maybe three hours. It is a bit heavy. It does get hot like others said. Its a great computer and coumd easily handle what I use it for and more! Definitely get it on sale. I purchased during black friday for $650.

Everything so far is working very well, theres no lagging when im running games like Valorant, Minecraft, Peak and Sons of the Forest. It has a lot of plug-ins so its very easy to connect to a tv or monitor if you wanted. As well as spots for a charger for phone or a mouse. It even has a usb c port which is very convenient. It can connect to a bunch of different bluetooth devices. The fan at the bottom works very well, although after a while the air from it becomes hot. With that being said the laptop itself has not overheated for me after running for more than 3 hours, even if it blows hot air out. The battery life off the charger is bad, but thats with all gaming laptops, although with the charger on it does work better. Without the charger, it will give you less frame rates and make you laggy so a charger is a MUST. Most games will work very smoothly if you have a good wifi. Setting up the laptop was very simple and customization was simple as well. It is slightly heavy but not too heavy for carrying it around with you. The clarity of video is very well, although i do wish it was a little bit more brighter but other than that its a good gaming laptop.

At first I didn't like this laptop because of the weight (my prior laptop before was way lighter than this one). But after using it for a few weeks I definitely have gotten to liking this laptop a lot more. In comparison to my other laptop, this one I can more easily multitask and my gaming experience has greatly improved thanks to this laptop (and it doesn't overheat when I play games). The battery life is not so great with it being around 3 hours off the charger, but other than that this is a great laptop if you play games and multitask all the time. If you're in the tech field and need something that will last I definitely recommend this laptop for that.

Great resolution, not bulky, fast, and fantastic all-purpose laptop to have. Bought this to replace my macbook pro 13 inch that lasted me 9 years (broke due to seemingly inevitable flexgate issue). If you take care of this laptop appropriately, it should last you a long time. My only gripe is the battery life does diminish quickly so always keep your charger on you.

Most of these budget gaming laptops have some major flaws. This is a pretty solid option if you can get it under 750$. The latency on these is not amazing.. but other than that it is a great laptop thermally. Performance wise. It looks good. I really enjoy it

The Lenovo LOQ 15.6" is a fantastic entry-level gaming laptop. It pairs a capable Intel Core i5-13450HX with a surprisingly powerful RTX 5050, delivering smooth 1080p performance. The design is sleek, and the 144Hz display is vibrant. While fans can be loud and battery life is limited, it offers exceptional value.

I’ve been using the Lenovo LOQ (i5-13450HX / RTX 5050) for a week now, and it’s easily the best bang-for-your-buck laptop of 2026. The new RTX 5050 with 8GB of GDDR7 memory is a significant jump over the old 4050, handling Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty on high settings without breaking a sweat.
The 144Hz screen is bright and the G-Sync support makes gameplay feel incredibly fluid. The build quality feels premium and sturdy, not like the "cheap plastic" feel of other budget laptops. My only gripes are the battery life (I get about 3.5 hours on quiet mode) and the fans, which get pretty loud when gaming in Performance Mode. However, for the price, the cooling performance is top-notch. If you’re a student or a gamer on a budget, this is the one to get.
Pros:
Great 1080p gaming performance (RTX 5050 is impressive).
Sturdy, professional build quality.
Fast 144Hz display with G-Sync.
Cons:
Short battery life.
Fans can be loud under heavy load.

After having the laptop for about a month, I would say that this product has been fine. With close to no experience with laptops before, my opinion may not be valid but I do nonetheless have one. The specs of the laptops are great, and it does run great for video games. However there are two major “issues” that I’ve experienced so far. They include, short battery life and the laptop prioritizing the integrated graphics card over the dedicated graphics card upon initialization of the computer. To be more specific, the short battery life (two hours with no power optimization and your using the dedicated graphics) is however expected due to the hefty/high performance parts of the laptop. Second, the prioritization of the integrated graphics displayed ghosting when browsing and gaming which seemed very odd for me. To conclude this review, I would only recommend this laptop to people who are looking to have good to great gaming performance and browsing at home. If your usually around outlets or just electricity then you’ll be fine, however if your not, I would not recommend.

I picked up the Lenovo LOQ 15.6" Gaming Laptop for $649.49 during Black Friday, and it’s been a strong performer for the price. The i5‑13450HX and RTX 5050 handle modern games well at 1080p/144 Hz, and the build quality and Luna Grey finish feel solid and clean.
The downsides are noticeable: the battery drains quickly, even with light use, and Lenovo Vantage freezes randomly and feels heavy, which is frustrating since it’s essential for core performance settings. With better battery optimization and software stability, this could easily be a 5‑star machine.
One more thing to note: 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD are pretty minimal for a 2025 gaming/work laptop. They function as intended for now, but storage fills up fast and future‑proofing would benefit from upgrades. I’d recommend planning for more RAM and additional storage if you want to get the most out of this system long‑term.
For those reasons, I am rating it as 4 stars which is more than fair.

I was able to snatch one of these on Labor Day for $799 and for that price, I cant complain. I added a 2TB ssd I had and bought another dimm of RAM and it's surpassed my expectations. The last "gaming laptop" I had was an HP Victus with a 3050 Ti and this thing absolutely stomps it.
Decent temps while gaming, shader compiles are a different story. Be prepared to see your CPU temps in the 90's in those specific cases. Gaming itself, expect around 70.
If you're looking for an entry level gaming laptop that will run about anything you throw at it, this is it

I wanted to get a laptop that would double as my work laptop and my gaming laptop. Handles both tasks like a dream. Only complaint is the battery life, which drains quickly during gaming if not plugged in so it feels more like PC sometimes but for work it lasts pretty long. Great graphics. Keep it updated.

I purchased this laptop for photography editing and it's been okay so far. Editing has been quick, however, it has crashed a few times when masking in Lightroom. It does load back up quickly but the delay is pretty annoying. Also battery life is crap when running Lightroom and Photoshop. But for the price point, it's pretty good.
