I bought this laptop for my 12 year old to do her school work during the Coronavirus shutdown. It was great for all of her Zoom classroom meetings, as well as, for watching video and doing school work. For the price, it is a good deal.

This does not have all of the bells and whistles, but does what I need it to which is personal light web surfing. It has a lot of storage which was important to me. It does run somewhat slow, but For the price you can’t beat it.

Looking for a basic computer for storing photos and basic internet and e-mail and this one had a good price an livable specs. I thought. I don't know why, but this computer runs like it has a virus from the first start-up. Every click is a wait-and-see, it's terrible slow, I don't for the life of me know why or how. I've built and upgraded computers the last 20 years. I'll probably upgrade the ram and add an SSD.

We had mostly switched to tablets so we were long overdue for a new laptop. This does everything we need it to do and the price was very reasonable. It is a little slow to start up, and it certainly isn't built for gaming, but for general internet and media usage it fit the need for us and was very reasonably priced.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop, model number 81N3009BUS, will boot from off to the Windows 10 Desktop in less than 40-seconds. If you are experiencing slower boot up times, Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

Please read the reviews. I bought this computer yesterday to work from home during the Covid 19 crisis. It is brand new, the only program I have on it is the Office 365 suite. ( which also took half the day to load due to the slow speed) If you are like me, you may think "well, I don't need a screaming fast computer, I will just be using it for Google Meetings and Powerpoint presentations, I am not gaming or anything." This computer WILL NOT suffice for that. It literally takes minutes ( many of them) to switch from one program to another, and the touch pad is SO sensitive that you will accidentally open and close things with your breath. Yes, I went in and changed the sensitivity to the least sensitive mode, still a huge problem And this morning, after a frustrating day of working with it yesterday, I opened my Mac and this computer at the same time... MAC instant on, let's see , how long for Lenovo? 14 minutes ! Yep, 14 minutes. It started with a wallpaper that could not click past, then blanked out, and then gave me a spinning wheel of death for 14 minutes. It is complete junk! Spend a bit more, or choose another brand.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop. There is a 30-day trial of Microsoft Office 365 included as part of the Windows 10 operating system. In order to keep the program active after the trial period, you will need to purchase a product key. You will not need to download any additional software. If you have installed another copy of Microsoft Office 365 on to the computer, this is causing the problems you describe. Uninstall the second program and use the 25-digit product code that is on the package of the Microsoft Office 365 you purchased to activate the Office 365 software already installed on this computer. You can reset the computer back to original factory settings to uninstall the second copy of Office 365. Here is a link to instructions for resetting Windows 10 back to original settings:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17085/windows-8-restore-refresh-reset-pc. If you can not boot the computer properly to reset the computer, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the right side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop. We are pleased to hear that the features and performance of the IdeaPad S145-15 meets your computing needs so well. This is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its AMD A6-9225 processor. This Dual-Core processor has a base speed of 2.6GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.0GHz. This configuration has 4GB of RAM. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. My gf wanted a simple laptop to use and play sims. This seemed fine but we really didn't anticipate how slow it would be. Running windows s is supposed to compensate for it not having the recommended 6gb ram but s really does stand for slow. If you need a basic pc for school it's fine once it's loaded and for the price you can't do too terrible for a new pc

Very light weight and sleek computer. Really good price with 1TB of memory. Only downside is that the computer is slow at loading things. In order to use Google Chrome and other apps, you have to turn off Windows S which I think is why it's running slower than desired. Camera's image quality is also a little grainy. Very easy to set-up and use right away.

I have owned this computer for a month. I purchased it because I became alarmed that my Windows 7 desktop, which I cherish, would be subject to hacking or viruses and I did not wish to spend a lot of money for a computer to do online activities such as banking and email. This Lenovo laptop does the job, barely. It is painfully slow. Slow to boot up, slow to access programs, slow to load pages. It is SLOW!!!! If you need storage space it has a lot of it. I wish not that I would have spent a few hundred dollars more and got a laptop with a faster processor and more memory but I didn't so here I am stuck with this slug. It seems fairly sturdy and well built. Screen looks pretty good. So if you don't care about sitting for minute after minute watching pages load, this is the laptop for you.

Once again, thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 Laptop. You can keep your computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If you ever need additional help with your Lenovo computer, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help. Lenovo

First, if you are looking for fast and powerful number cruncher you need help, as this is an entry level machine. This being said, I loaded linux on this and I can do some crunching, coding, testing and so forth. Second, this is not a heavy gaming machine either. Third, battery is not an all day affair. With Linux battery life extended 50%. Last, I bought this to replace 1st generation Samsung Tab A. What a wonderful improvement.

My daughter moved out of our house last month, and I wanted my laptop back. She was using it while finishing her college courses. I purchased this Lenovo so that I could retain my old HP. the first thing she noticed was how light it was compared to my 6 yr. old model. It does everything she needs and doesn't make her backpack feel like a bag of bricks. She is very pleased. I am very pleased. The price was right and we're happy!

The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 Laptop, model number 81N3009BUS, ships with a 2CELL_30WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 4 hours, depending on the work the device is performing.
