You can set your favorite music as an alarm. Select a song, artist, genre or playlist from your default music service in the Google Home app you used to set up your Smart Clock. If you have a premium account with your default music service, you can also use the premium options the service offers. The screen makes it simple to control the Google Assistant in my house and play music. Although the audio quality doesn't have a ton of bass, it's quite loud.

Nice feature I use is the "Bell", wish there were more setting for the bell, like snooze or different sound, but I think that is google not the hardware, not sure though. Since I use use the free YT music, it doesn't stream to the clock (needs YT music subscription), but i was able to get around that using it as a bluetooth speaker. Responds reliably to the commands. You just have to read the manual first to know how to use the features. The physical switch to turn off the mic is a nice privacy feature. The USB charging port is nice to have too. I got on sale, I would rather not pay full price for it.

With regard to the Auto-brightness setting, you can swipe up from the bottom of the Smart Clock's touch screen, select the brightness icon on the bottom left and turn off auto-brightness. Now use the brightness slider to set the screen brightness to your personal preference.

To set a music alarm start by saying "Okay Google set a music alarm" From there your Google Assistant will ask you what time and what you would like to play. in your instance you can say something like "8am" and "Play my favorite station from Pandora"

Good alarm clock

It is a little pricey, but I was lucky enough to have found it as one of the daily deals for almost half price. It does what it needs to do, and you can connect with whatever music app you use, but here is my only dislike. The speaker is awful. I have an Amazon Echo Dot that I received as a gift that sits next to it on my night stand that sounds 10 times better. Improve the speaker and this would be worth the original price. I would recommend for the price I was fortunate enough to pay.
