If you see the benchmarks here, This laptop is the best for the price. Thank you Lenovo. (thought it has some issues with the LCD screen.) But the problem is Bestbuy. I bought this laptop on Feb 14 online and picked it up on Feb 17. And I checked my the warranty on Lenovo site. the warranty started on Aug 22 of 2016. What the,, what is this? So I called the branch I picked it up and asked about it. And they were really rude. At the end of the conversation they yell at me LOL. It felt like I got used laptop, but it has Samsung SSD (Man, look at the writing and 4K speed) and benchmark was fine (better than I expected). so..I don't care at this point. Thanks Lenovo.

I needed a laptop for consulting. Heavy Office suite use and online meeting tool requirements. 3 months in and happy with performance and ease of use. This machine is light enough. I used a few corporate models for years before this purchase. It feels familiar and and like old friend. Played around, but haven't seriously had a good use for tablet and pen mode. Expecting it to be handy for conferences.

I had been without a laptop for over a year. Rec'd this Think Pad as a gift. I like the touch screen, I like the way the device can be reverse "folded" so it can be used a a large touch screen. The actual keypad is a bit small. The letter "T" is often missed when I type because it is not as pressure sensitive as the other keys. I had to purchase a USB key board for at home typing because the "T" was just too annoying.

Quick summary: Great performing durable laptop with one of the best keyboards I have used on a laptop. The hardware on this machine has been great and build seems very solid. Any problems I have had with this machine seem to stem from the software but over the last month driver updates have been released that improve the stability and functionality. Overall I am very pleased with this laptop especially for the price it does everything I need it to do from light gaming, web browsing, and note taking. I would say for the price vs its features it’s a great value. Pro: • Great keyboard • Feels very sturdy and light • Speakers are good for the size of this laptop(very loud) • Pen and touch input works well • Runs cool and quiet when playing games and other tasks • Able to play all the games(diablo 3(maxed), star wars online(maxed), counter strike) • Battery life is great. I estimate around 5-6 hours of heavy use (maybe 2-4 hours while gaming) Cons: • Windows 10 is still in its infancy so bugs crop up • Some driver issues(some have been fixed in updates) • Not really a con but wished it had two ram slots • Not the fastest SSD but fast enough Now for the lengthy part: My last laptop was a 10 year old acer with a core 2 duo that worked perfectly well for what I was doing. I was waiting for it to die before I bought a new one but it just would not die. It was definitely time for an upgrade as some newer applications didn’t run very well. My list of requirements was touch screen, light and smaller than 15.6 inch, pen input for notes, convertible, decent keyboard, and great battery life(more than 3 hours) a bonus if it could play games. I have a powerful desktop that I use for games and CPU intensive tasks(movie encoding, and compiling). I wanted something that is semi powerful and travel with while not worrying about plugging into an outlet (my last laptop worked for 2 hours on battery). After sifting through reviews of tons of laptops and deciding if I wanted a convertible I narrowed it down to the HP Spectre. I loved the build quality, battery life, and the size but the heat and fan noise were deal breakers for me. When using this machine it would get hot enough that it would be uncomfortable to hold and the fan would get fairly loud. After I returned it I saw that Lenovo announced a new ThinkPad Yoga with dedicated graphics and pen input which they call the Yoga 460. I was presently surprised to see that best buy had a variant of this model named the yoga 14 and a couple hundred dollars cheaper than the Spectre. At first I wanted a laptop with a quad core i7 but non existed in the convertible form factor in my budget. I then settled to look for a laptop with a dual core i7 6500u. Currently this laptop is only offered with the i5 6200u and decided after some research though I found out that the i5 6200u on this is just as fast as the last gen i7 5500u that it wouldn’t be a big deal. Also having a dedicated 940m meant I could use it to play some older games that aren’t graphically intense and compared to intels HD520 got better performance. Pen input works very well and has pressure sensitivity in applications. I have big hands I don’t have a problem using the pen and feel like the experience is just like writing with a pencil (there are bigger pen options available if the small pen is a problem). It is also nice that the pen can be stored and no need to worry about the battery as it charges while docked. Some people have had negative comments about the touchpad. After the update and using it for a time I have had no trouble with the touchpad (I’m used to using a 10 year old touchpad so anything will be better). The keyboard on this is fantastic and a huge upgrade from what I had been typing on. I was also pleasantly surprised by the speakers. They sound way better than I was expecting and much better than the Spectre and my old laptop. This laptop meets and exceeded my needs and has been great to use. I definitely recommend this against other offerings and consider this a great alternative to the surface line when looking for a similar experience well saving some cash.

    Best laptop ever

This is frankly the best laptop I've owned. My previous laptops were an HP Pavilion TX2000 and a Lenovo Ideapad S3 netbook. I'm not an artist, but I just prefer to always have the option to use an active pen so I always include it in my criteria when buying a PC. First of all, I'd like to say how absolutely thrilled I was when this thing's price went down to a whopping $699.99. It was only for a day. Good thing I was able to accidentally find out about it and immediately request for a price match. The process was seamless and I got my $200 back after approximately just 3 days ($200 instead of $300 because I purchased it on sale for $899.99). I'm just so ecstatic about the savings! Somebody even mentioned in the forums that it's practically lower than manufacturing costs. Anyway, on to the real review of the 2-in-1: It's nothing short of spectacular. Screen - I thought this would be an issue because of some of the complaints in forums, but it turns to be really amazing. More so because those complaints might have lowered my expectations. But I find it really easy on the eyes. It's not too bright at highest setting, but I don't mind as long I can still perfectly view my screen even with direct sunlight on it. I never even put my devices on highest brightness setting anyway. Keyboard & Trackpoint - It's the boss. It doesn't look as sleek as those in Macs but it's definitely easier to type on. I thought I wouldn't be using the trackpoint as I've never tried one before but it turns out to be a really intelligent design. I find myself using it more and more everyday. It saves me time because my fingers wouldn't have to travel so far from the keyboard when navigating the screen. Speed - Yes, it's superfast. I haven't even toyed with the settings yet, but right out of the box, I never experience any lags. The bootup takes less than 5 seconds. Touchpad - Great, responsive, spacious, no issues whatsoever. Doesn't jump or scroll too fast in Chrome like some of the complaints. Maybe because the drivers are already updated. USB ports - It is advertised to come with 1 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 ports but there are actually 3 USB 3.0 ports (1 of which is always on, meaning you can charge your mobile devices through it even when the PC is off). It's a mistake I'm not complaining about. :) Also, it's not heavy but it's definitely not as light as I thought it was. I read in the forums that the weight advertised (3.85lbs) is wrong and the actual weight is actually (4.1lbs). Power - I haven't stress tested this thing yet, but I never experienced any issues so far when running multiple programs. I've run around 5-6 medium-to-heavy programs without problems. I also saw a video about someone running 10 programs all at once, half of which were heavy ones, and there were no issues so I have high hopes for this. Touchscreen - I honestly don't know how to rate this. As long as I have no problems with it then I'm fine. Pen - Haven't toyed much with this thing yet. I find that palm rejection isn't that good but fair enough. It could very well be just user error. Also, pressure sensitive is working well. I'm only using the Corel Painter Essentials 5 that came free with the Intel Starter Pack in testing this though. Overall user experience is 10/10. I couldn't be any happier with my purchase. It's a laptop that is packed with features yet doesn't fall short in performance and power. Definitely worth even more than the retail price of $999. :)

I purchased this as an open box Geek Squad certified-Excellent product. BE WARNED - Best Buy will not honor their Price Match Guarantee, even for Geek Squad certified items that match in condition. This was true despite the fact that the Price Match Guarantee logo was next to the open box item I purchased (as of this review, the laptop is on clearance and they won't price match for any clearance items). I was very disappointed with how Best Buy handled this considering I was in the return window and could have just returned it and purchased the same item for the lesser price. Despite being open-box, the laptop looked brand new. Everything worked, but with some light-leakage at the upper right hand corner and a bit along the bottom of the screen. The screen is crisp and bright, although I'm not a fan of the key-spacing. I have adjusted to it (you can also change the "Fn" key to function as the "Ctrl" key, as they are switched on the keyboard and on every Lenovo, apparently). The built-in pen tool works well and is a plus, but not a necessity. This has very good build quality, feels solid, but is admittedly a bit heavy for its size and thickness. As for performance, no issues at all and even can play a few games with no trouble. If you can get this on sale, it is a great, well-rounded unit.

This laptop has much better build quality than any of the other laptops in its class. Sure it is not as fancy as a mac book but it is also half the price for very similar sepcs. However Mac book does not have a capacitive touch screen and built in rechargeable pen either. Nor can it fold into a tablet and lock its keyboard like this laptop can... I could go on. all in all this is a great laptop for work and play at a very reasonable price.

Overall great laptop for the price. I'm coming form a Macbook Pro Retina and absolutely love the computer so far. - Great build quality, feels very solid - Fast, the SSD definitely enhances the performance - Great touch screen and included pen (this is stored inside the chassis) - Flexible screen feels solid and is extremely functional, I don't have a tablet and am able to use it well for reading on the Kindle App - Very responsive keyboard (backlit) and trackpad - Great battery life, especially when you monitor functions you arent using -No bloatware Overall I dont miss my macbook pro, with itunes installed this does far more than my macbook and the solid feeling of the build doesnt leave me feel wanting. Definitly recommended.

This is a perfect computer for me. It is light weight, fast, beautiful and packed with features. I have always been partial to Lenovo because I absolutely love their keyboards and track ball. The keyboard and mouse options on this machine do not disappoint. You have so many options for input that it is hard to use them all. I love that this machine comes with a digitizer pen. It has a nice track pad (which I almost never use). The touch screen responds well, but I still love the track ball the best. So far it has handled everything that I have thrown at it beautifully. It runs all of my programs for work and is wonderful for video editing. This is my first SSD hard drive and I think I will have a real challenge to ever go back. The speed difference is amazing. The machine is sturdy and the various 360 screen rotation is fun. Granted, I don't think I will use that a lot, but it is a nice option to have available. The battery life is very good. According to reviews there are some that do better, but I am very pleased with how long it lasts. At the current price that this is being offered for at Best Buy it is hard to imagine any other computer coming close to this machine in value. I am very glad I got this.

A laptop I recommend to anyone. Wow, Lenovo!

TLDR: Great Laptop that includes features of much more expensive machines, making it a great 2-1 laptop that also can serve as a drawing tablet. As someone who recommends mobile computers to people for a living, I'd think it's fair for me to write out why I almost always show any client this piece of awesome machinery, now that I have one. My main laptop has been a mid-2012 MacBook Air for the past 4 years, and it's been great. The issue with Apple products, however, is that upgrade ability isn't there, and to be honest, there is no "jack-of-all-trades" in any of their products. Want a drawing tablet? Get an iPad Pro. Want a high resolution screen laptop screen? Get a MacBook Pro. Want USB-A? Get a MacBook Air. This is where Lenovo has finally came in, have they offered this package of 3 before? Yes, way back in their x2XX lineup of computers, but in the recent 2 years they've introduced this beauty. The real thing that sets this apart from his Yoga 260, 460, and X1 Yoga brothers is the value in this product. Whether you bought it for $899.99 brand new, or $549.99 open box, it does what the more expensive ThinkPad's can do. Okay, so maybe the X1 Yoga is thinner, and has a better battery life, but you have to ask yourself if that's worth $500 more. Comparing to the MacBook Air 2012: Keyboard: This ThinkPad is excellent with it's keyboard, it in no way will it ever match the IBM days of keyboards, but to a pre-butterfly MacBook keyboard I can say this is the same quality, if not better. The biggest downside is that the backlight brightness is not very bright compared to a MacBook. TrackPad: A mix between old ThinkPad's and new "button-less" ThinkPads is what this guy is. It is smaller than my MacBook's trackpad, but feeling is quite similar and the buttons + trackpoint make it a joy to use. Screen: The full HD panel is great compared to MacBook, I honestly think that 1920x1080 is all that I'd ever want from <15 inch screens. It takes less battery to use, and scaling isn't an issue. Hardware: The biggest thing I love on this guy is the hardware, this is a BestBuy exclusive model (Or was for a long time) that includes a 940m Nvidia chip, which lets the computer run more intensive graphical tasks compared to the Intel HD graphics found in most laptops. The computer also has upgrade able ram, 16 gb DDR3L Max, and hard drive (Any 2.5 SATA Drive). Upgrading must be frowned upon now a days, because many thin laptops don't let you do this, this is a huge reason why I bought this guy. Stylus & 2-in-1 functionality: The only stylus I have been in contact with is the Bamboo Drawing Tablets, and have hated drawing with them without the screen. This is a nice introduction into real tablet drawing without having to pay $3,000 for a quality Bamboo tablet. I love the keyboard sucks in the laptop when the screen is flipped, making it comfortable to use. I presume that the stylus is more meant for writing, and not drawing, but it can be used with illustrating programs like Krita. I drew a little image with Krita and didn't touch any of the tablet settings. The biggest frustration I've came across in drawing this simple sketch was that the hand-detection isn't the best, so wearing a glove would fix that and that the 2 buttons on the pen are so shallow that I usually have to look at the pen itself to find them, or accidentally press them. The build quality has been great, and the price reflects overall a great value. ThinkPad has never been in my mind in the past years, but this has open my eyes that Lenovo can create some awesome machines. I salute you if you read this whole review because I was too lazy to check it over for mistakes.

The nice thing about the ThinkPad Yoga line of laptops (besides the bendable nature of them) is how durable they are. Dust proof. Spill proof. They can just take a beating and come back for more; they don't have to be babied like MacBooks. This particular model also has a pretty solid discrete GPU which helps in all matters of applications and can provide you with some decent gaming (make no mistake, however, this is not a high-end gaming machine, however). While this isn't equipped with a 4k screen, the beautiful 1080P screen is the battery's best friend, and you'll be able to squeeze 7+ hours of life out of it between recharges. I've been using it for work over the past few weeks and I think it's an absolute gem. That said, I feel the need to dock it one star because it's advertised as an ultra-book, but the weight is anything but.

I researched for months looking for a laptop that would fit my needs for collage as well as my consulting business. I was looking at the Surface Book but could not get over the hurdle of the price and inability to upgrade memory, battery or hard drive by owner. This little yoga does everything I wanted and needed out of the Surface Book for a much better price point and is owner upgradable. Love taking notes in class with the built in pen in OneNote and marking up Power Point slides my professors use for presentation during their lectures for even more notes. Its very portable and the battery life is something I can work with. Really love the key boards action and its back-light is great for low light situations. It can even game a bit with its discrete NVIDIA on board. Like every new laptop I highly recommend checking every port and function right out of the box and put it through its paces. Best Buy is great if there is an issue but you need to find it within the return period. Lenovo will honor issues too but if you don't upgrade your warranty you will have to ship or drive your laptop to a repair center and that is not always convenient.

This laptop has solid build, so it should last for many years - I hope. Main criteria for me was battery life and it delivers over 6 hours and sometimes almost 9 hours, sure depends on workload. The display is just Ok, that's why only 4 stars. CPU power is Ok for none demanding development and covers Office just fine. For development and processing look for HQ CPU, which is 45W. It comes with 8GB RAM, that can be replaced with 16GB memory single SODIMM; yes, single RAM slot - this is another downside that limits memory bandwidth and upgrade options. This isn't workstation, but more like 14" travel companion that is light and easy to carry on.

I've had this laptop now since November, and I can say honestly that it is a solid business laptop. I work in an environment that still utilizes desktops across the organization, and I am a mobile worker, so I ended up purchasing this as a BOYD. This machine offers a great value, giving you a solid build, decent SSD, touchscreen, 1080p IPS screen, tablet functionality, integrated pen and digitizer, solid software, amazing keyboard, decent enough graphics w/ generous framebuffer to play many pre-2015 games on medium (CS:GO, Grid Autosports, Dark Souls 2, etc work great at medium high settings 1080p). The CPU is a bit weaker than others in it's price range, and that can hurt. I have a quad core Skylake CPU, and the processing difference is tremendous. But the battery life on the ThinkPad stands around 6 hours, which is much better than my other laptop. The WiFi is a standard Intel 2x2 AC adapter, so you'll realistically get 200-300Mbps if you have an AC router. For me, the icing on the cake is the various status LEDs that are a hallmark of Thinkpad design. Microphone, speaker status LEDs, along with the thinkpad 'i' dot power LEDs are well designed and extremely functional. The keyboard is one of the best feeling I've ever used, and has an FN lock shortcut w/ LED, ability to swap the FN and Ctrl key in bios. The backlit keys are subtle and pleasant to use. Shutting the lid can be setup to enter a lower power state for a time so if you frequently step between meetings you can close without disconnecting any VPN/WiFi/etc. The memory is upgradable (16GB single stick can replace the 8GB it comes with - check ebay for DDL3L 16GB sodimm), and even has a m.2 slot (albiet 2242, so a much smaller selection of SSDs can fit). This laptop is the perfect blend of performance, style, durability, and cost. I really hope Lenovo releases a great follow-up to the Skylake design. I just wish this guy came in a quad core!

the laptop is a relatively powerful ultrabook. It has the i7 with a nvidia graphics card and can handle some light gaming if needed however it is still an ultrabook should be used as such. As for the build quality the hindge feels solid enough however the display is thin and flimsy which makes me feel like it can easily be damaged. The display is a descent resolution screen that can definitely get the job done. Indoors there is very little strain to see and it doesn't do too poorly with collecting fingerprints. The pen is a nice feature and using the sketch application is fun The keyboard is amazing! I love thinkpad a for the keyboards and touch point (red tilt dot thing in the middle of the keyboard). I have a great attachment to the layout and find many aspects of it useful, such as the print screen button location and touch point. Touch pad is a huge disappointment and I am not impressed with it in the least. Coming from a 2015 MacBook with the force touch touchpad I find the Lenovo touchpad to be clunky and imprecise. It is small and anytime I take a break from my work to play some wot blitz, a game available on the windows store and through steam, the touchpad is a huge crutch. I find I have much better luck using the tablet mode and touchscreen to play games. This would be a great solution however the laptop is a bit on the heavy side to hold and use the touch controls comfortably. When it comes to work I find the laptop to be a joy to use. I've recently begun learning to use Ruby on Rails and working through tutorials has been mostly simple. The laptop is a bit slow with some tasks however the SSD and i7 have allowed me to be fairly productive.

I've looked for laptop with stylus for many years and owned few. This laptop is feature packed in a sturdy material. You can search YouTube on what kind of a notebook it is. Couple points that might turn some people off. Pen does not seem to be Wacom. It is battery powered and putting in silo charges it. Other Wacom pens don't work on this screen and it doesn't seem like you can replace nibs. Pen itself is great. Also while it says it's ultrabook it weighs more than 4lbs. Aside from those minor points, I can't ask more. It is great laptop.

I was looking for a good unit that could serve as a PC, Tablet, and pen enabled device. This was the best fit for my needs. Hand writing is great. I like that the pointer pad has built in buttons at the bottom. The speakers were also a pleasant surprise. It has better than decent stereo speakers that make watching video very nice. I reloaded Win10 to get rid of the bloatware, and benchmarks showed a small improvement in speed by doing so. As with most Lenovo products, this one is well put together. The KB is nice to type on, and I like how it locks when I convert it to tablet mode. The pen is thin, but serviceable. I will probably get a thicker pen for it in the future. This is an active pen, which means it requires a battery. The included pen recharges in the holder. I like that I can put this in my lap and type more easily compared to other tablets with a floppy KB and kickstand.

Switching from a MacBook Air. Curious about Windows 10. Stylus pen was also a nice touch as was touch display for full Windows 10 experience. Initially thought tent mode and tablet mode were dumb, can definitely see myself using them more and more. Lift and lock is slick. Wish all 3 USB ports were 3.0...like most, I too love the keyboard. Taking a little time to get used to trackpad and red button since I've never used a thinkpad before. Grabbed for $899 on sale, pretty good value...So far processor has been OK, slightly concerned about performance moving forward, hoping this is not an issue since I don't do anything particularly crazy with my laptops.

Longtime user of Thinkpads here. We had a T420s, a T400, a T61, etc. This Thinkpad Yoga continues the Thinkpad tradition in common-sense design, durability, and ease of setup and use. We wanted a laptop that was lightweight, with a bright screen, and the Thinkpad keyboard we'd long known and loved. The Thinkpad Yoga is very lightweight (it is considered an ultrabook), with a thin but wide screen (good for comparing documents side-by-side), and a fantastic chiclet-style keyboard with a nice feel to it. The trackpoint is still there, but the lower set of physical trackpad buttons is gone to make room for a much larger trackpad. It only took a day or so to get used to the change. The keyboard is really easy to see with the backlighting. We didn't think we would ever use the touchscreen/tablet features, but it turns out that these are actually quite convenient, fun, and useful features. The tablet mode is great when you want to sit with someone and view something together, and it's also great to use for OneNote or annotating documents. The included pen is a nice touch. The keyboard does not interfere with the use of the tablet in tablet mode. My only complaints would be that the laptop is a bit bulky in tablet mode, compared to a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 or a Surface Book, but it's also less expensive than those options, so I'm OK with the extra thickness. The other problem is that getting the pen in and out of the laptop slot is a little fussy. Overall a great choice for people who want everything in a laptop: great screen, portability, robust processor, excellent keyboard, similarity to earlier Thinkpads, easy updating features, built-in pen, touch screen, convertible into a tablet, and understated but elegant design.

This Yoga 14 is a dream without the high price. Originally bought just for the built in stylus, but surprised with much more as a total package. The up close build quality and material finish is superb, hard to get that feeling just looking at the picture. The pen digitizer is on par sensitivity and with accuracy comparable to the Cintiq, At 14" screen size, the Yoga is much larger and better value than the 11" Wacom Cintiq 13HD. The Yoga's stylus driver is Wacom. The stylus side slot is an amazing feature to be able to dock it back and charge it without losing it. I'm also running 3D CAD and Adobe CC with no issues. The new gen i5 and ssd makes it very fast. Great work studio PC and convertible tablet. Five stars
