Love this laptop. I’ve worked with computers for over 30 years. Never actually bought a new laptop, as I’ve always been given used ones from various places. But knew my lattitude was getting tired. And the processor isn’t going to be supported on windows 11. A few months back, I started a business that made a 2 in 1 a very good option.
I use my computers (I have several, but one primary personal laptop) heavier than most people. And as a result, they get beat up. Broke the camera a while ago from a drop. But I broke the lcd, and knew that was the end of the line. Considered new latitudes, but they were just too expensive. Considered a used one off eBay, but I’ve been burned way too many times. And I really needed one sooner than later.
I’ve used Lenovos (formerly ibm) laptops many times. Knew they tend to be quality devices. Did a ton of research and picked this one. I bought the fully loaded one since you can’t add memory later. I generally stick with intel processor’s. But AMDa epyc server processors are phenomenal. And not too long ago, I built a budget gaming machine for a friend. I used an AMD on it, and it really blew me away. AMD has really grown up over the years.
This laptop is amazing. I just updated to the beta of windows 11 earlier this week. Runs like a champ. The touchscreen rocks. Drawing on it is awesome. And for engineers, it can run several virtual machines in VMware workstation.
This may be the best kept secret out there. No docking station ability. But I don’t need that on a personal laptop.
I think as a CCIE, MCITP, PCNSE, I’m qualified to give you this feedback. I rarely offer up reviews. But this one is worth the time.

Great Little Laptop

This is pretty great little unit. I'm just gonna start listing stuff randomly as it comes to me.
Good stuff:
- Long battery life. I haven't run it until dead but it does way better than most laptops I've had. My other device is a Mac Book Air (2020 i7) and it is on par with it.
- The WiFi does seem to take a while to hook up which is slightly annoying but speed and stability of it is great.
- The SSD (a WDC unit I believe) is satisfactorily quick and I'm never waiting on it to load anything.
- I love the 2-in-1 flip over and use it that way regularly.
- The fingerprint reader is near instant.
- Love the weight and size.
- Fabric top is really nice. One less place to collect finger prints.
- Keyboard is fairly nice to type on.
- I like the touchpad, it ain't no MacBook touchpad, but it is pretty decent.
- USB-C charging is a winner. This girl does not like low power supplies but having a single charger for phones and laptops is really nice.
- Sturdy chassis.
No So Good:
- Glossy screen is a bummer, not sure if that is required for touch or not. Shows finger prints something fierce.
- Headphone jack is awful. Sound is so muffled. Same headphones (Bowers and Wilkins, decent) via a USB-C adapter and it is a different world in sound quality. Bluetooth does better also so it is the port.
- Speakers just barely get the job done. Better for spoken content than music.
- Can get hot on the bottom.
- Not as bright as I'd like in normal rooms. Basically run it at 90+ brightness. Could be much better.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 6 13 model number 82ND0002US. The system audio for this model is built on the High Definition (HD) Audio Chip, with stereo system speakers, 1.5W x2, optimized with Dolby Atmos software. Try toggling the Dolby Atmos feature on/off both through the system speakers and through a headset, to find the best audio experience to meet your preferences. This configuration ships with a 13.3 inch (screen size measured diagonally) IPS - FHD (1920x1080) 10-point Multi-touch screen, with a brightness level of 300 nits and has a Glossy finish. This screen provides 100 Percent of the sRGB (72 Percent NTSC) color gamut for excellent color accuracy. It is normal for the laptop to feel warm to the touch when either charging or when the computer is under maximum workloads.

I love this little laptop. It has all the power i need and a surprisingly decent APU for a computer not meant for gaming. This thing boots in 4.3 seconds. I love that you can use it as a tablet as well. It is perfect for reading my textbooks while lounging and drinking my coffee. The battery life is decent as well. I studied for 8 hours straight and still had 54% battery left. The fabric cover is a nice touch. It looks and feels cozy. WiFi 6 is amazing. Downloads are surprisingly fast (when downloading from most servers). Great purchase. The screen size is a bit smaller but the performance makes up for it. Definitely a lot of bang for your buck. To upgrade to a 14 or larger screen at this price point comes with a major hit to performance. Again, this was a great purchase.

I bought this laptop only because it was on sale for $749. I got the 16gb 512ssd model. I’ve had a Lenovo before but it was well overdue for an upgrade (2007). I use this mainly for school and streaming. It works perfectly fine and I’ve only charged it once 14 Nov and it’s now 17 Dec and I still have a decent battery. I got my mom to even purchase one as well. The only thing I wish could be different is the ugly fabric cover. I’d rather buy my own case to cover the laptop. I added photos to prove the battery life. I’m glad I stuck to Lenovo I haven’t been disappointed yet.

Lenovo Yoga 6 13 2-in-1 13.3” Touch Screen AMD Ryzen7- 16GB Memory, 512 SSD. It’s fast, easy to use, boots in seconds,
has two ports USB-type C and two ports USB-type A. These days for new laptops under $1000 to have so many ports and quality- Great deal. I ordered digital pen from lenovo.com, unfortunately, Best Buy doesn’t have original digital pen for this model, but you can get a different brand Stylus Pen from Best Buy, and it should work just fine. I like the fabric surface design on the top, better than plastic (see attached photo).

Beautiful and very lightweight. It's the perfect size for those that don't like big displays. Performance has been excellent and fast. Fan noise is very quiet almost unnoticeable compared to other laptops I've had.

tldr summary : fast laptop with display issues.
The CPU, RAM and SDD are all very fast, CPU does run hot when high load and fan does run a bit noisy.
The laptop that I purchased has stuck bright pixels on blue background that is visible from more than one yard distance. I really like the laptop's design and performance and was somewhat confident in Lenovo, so I purchased onsite support and accident coverage from Lenovo. After reporting the issue to Lenovo, they asked me to ship the laptop to the nearest service center. Once the laptop was returned from the service center, Lenovo stated they replaced the LCD. The "repaired device" that I received has the same stuck pixels on the exact same spot, but the touchscreen is now working (It did not work before, but I did not care much for the touchscreen). In the meantime I purchased another laptop from BestBuy from a different brand, while waiting on Lenovo to resolve this.

I’m so glad I spent a little more to get the large tank Epson printer. It’s great! And it even prints 2-sided pages without human intervention!!! I didn’t notice that feature but love it. Loading ink is easy-peasy. I like the larger interactive screen too. Just wish the ink tanks were easier to see.

This is a great little workhorse. I was looking for a small thin and light for moderate productivity and this fit the bill. The price was excellent for it's class (Sale $699.99)
PROS
Touchscreen (1080p 300nits)
Thin and light
Decent keyboard travel and feedback
Keyboard backlight
Fabric cover (Stain resistant treatment)
AMD Ryzen 7 5700U (Great for the price)
16GB DDR4 RAM
512GB SSD
Fingerprint reader
Decent speakers
CONS
Can get a bit warm underneath so make sure you have a laptop cooler, lapdesk or place it flat on a desk for optimal cooling (The cooling system has one heatpipe and one fan)
RAM is soldered on to the motherboard (Not upgradeable)
Only has 4 ports (2x USB Type A 3.1 and 2x USB Type-C) and no HDMI/DP out (Need a converter cable)
No SD card slot
Power is only via right side USB Type-C port (No separate power port so you lose a port if you are charging the device)
Overall I would purchase this again because for me the PROS outweigh the cons.

Great Laptop for [Design] College!

So bought this laptop around Sept 8th 2021, so it's been a year and few months. I've been using it as my main laptop for college and home and it's absolutely fantastic! It's able to run everything that I need.
I'm a design student so I use Adobe Creative Cloud and it's able to run Photoshop, Illustrator, and even After Effects! I'll list the pros and cons.
Pros:
- Pretty fast when doing tasks such as opening up programs
- Smooth running
- SSD is wonderful when booting up
- Great keyboard + backlight
- Screen display is vibrant and clear
- Easy to carry around
- Pretty good battery life (I can go through a whole day with it before having to put it on a charger!)
Cons:
- Display brightness/dim isn't that great
- Display flickered a LOT before I had to figure out the problem (something with display drivers)
- Display resolution is a little messed up WHEN using programs such as Photoshop Camera Raw (very niche, but worth mentioning)
- Only two USB ports
- WiFi is great but sometimes it takes a WHILE for it to connect (sometimes it won't even show any networks!)
- Can get pretty loud when put under heavy tasks/ heats up
I recommend this laptop for anyone! It's great at its price point and delivers exceptional performance. The 16GB ram is wonderful too. If you're looking for a laptop that can run the programs you need at a decent price, this is a great option to choose.

WiFi issues causing me to return

I have had this laptop for 24 hours and am ready to return it. The wifi won't stay connected. I have about 5 laptops in the house for the family and when sitting in a room, every laptop stays connected except this one. I have tried updating drivers, resetting the device, switching channels, experimented with 2.4 and 5 GHz and none of them work.
Ping results show the inconsistency of the wifi adapter.
Am going to try replacing this to see if it works any better.

The Lenovo Yoga 6 13 model number 82ND0002US, ships with the latest WiFi-6, 2 x 2 802.11ax frequency WiFi. If you are having connectivity issues, first, restart your router with the Yoga 6 13 turned on and seeking a WiFi connection. If you are still having connectivity issues, check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.
