I would have given it 5 stars but dislike the small right hand shift key. I am constantly hitting the up/page up key as I am use to a larger shift key on that side. I am sure I will get accustomed to this smaller key. Everything else is great.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 710-14. With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP. lenovo

I'm happy with my Lenovo, Yoga. It's very practical and easy to use. I like how I can switch it to the iPad mode and get the most benefit of its touch screen and built-in key board. The size is perfect. I can slide it in my purse or my school backpack, or just carry it in its sleeve. An excellent device!

Great screen resolution, nice form factor. The solid state hard drive makes bootup fast and general operations snappy. Micro HDMI is a bit to small for my liking as I wanted to connect a external monitor, I spent a little extra to get a USB to dvi adapter, when this arrives I'll see how that fares, rating on Amazon were good.

I am really happy with Lenovo. I did a lot reading and side by side comparisons before, I even went to see the laptop in person in a Best Buy store. The laptop its a solid beauty. Battery life according to Lenovo is 8 hours but I am getting an average 5 to 6 hours solid at 75% brightness with mix use (Apps, videos and Browser). Lenovo does have an app that allows you to tweak and get even greater battery life. I tried but not my cup tea since dimmer down the screen by a lot taking away from the beautiful display, which by the way is just gorgeous at 75% and higher. Also I love Chrome, but Windows does make a case for you to use the new Edge Browser and yes I can get my 5 to 6 hours for sure if I use this browser more often then Chrome. Performance is great. No Hiccups. If you looking to do heavy gaming this laptop wont be the one you are looking for. If you looking to do some work, lots of browsing, watching movies and whatever multitasking you might up to, this is the laptop for you. At $650 this laptop is a steal, you get same power, better display, same build quality as a MacBook Air that cost way more. Yes this laptop is mighty light, even though it has a 14 inch display. Perfect size. Makes for a perfect purchase.I was so close to buy a Chromebook but for $200 more, this makes for much better purchase. Also about the number 1 complaint that most did was about the fan, which by the way there updates for that, seems there have being some exagerations. Yes you can hear a bit, but barely noticeable. The times you really hear is when you doing some extreme multitasking and heavy gaming. Core i5 koby lake gives a great performance, touchscreen, lighted keyboard and option for tablet mode( which for me its just gimmicky) but the option to flip and watch movies and presentations is very handy. Really recommend.

Intel Core i5, 8GB, 256GB SSD - Excellent laptop overall. The size and weight are excellent for a commuter, the screen is excellent, and processing speed for office applications, browsing, etc is great. the 256GB drive is fine, and I can add an SD card for expansion. The fan noise is NOT bad, despite that being a concern from other reviews. The only complaint is the shift key position/size. If not for this, 5 stars. It's a smaller key, and i've re-mapped a key so it's easier to hit, but I'm not sure why they did the keyboard layout this way. My son's new Dell laptop keyboard layout is much better in this regard. But overall, a great machine at a good price.

Caught this laptop on sale on clearance and it provides a solid experience for less than $700. My model has 8GB of RAM and an i5 and it easily handles the myriad of tasks I try to do at one time. Numerous web browsers, streaming music and using computer programming IDEs. I have not noticed any lag between switching windows or tasks. I do have two large complaints but they may be more of a personal preference. 1) The right shift key is small and sits to the immediate right of the page up arrow. I can not tell you the number of times I mean to hit the shift key and my cursor moves up a line... 2) I believe I read reviews that this was fixed but I am not buying it..... when you are running heavy processing tasks the fan is loud. Is it extremely loud - no. But my wife yells at my constantly if she is sitting within 10' of me. The PC does not get as hot as older laptops I've had so this is probably a trade off of the slightly louder fan, but it is a nuisance. Overall though, great unit I would definitely recommend.

I did a lot of shopping around before I bought this computer and I couldn't be happier with my choice! I looked at getting the surface but the price was just too high for me. I sell pampered chef and need something fast and reliable for my business and this is it! The battery life is great so I don't have to worry about it dying in the middle of a show. It speeds right through web pages without delay which is great for processing orders. And it's lightweight enough for me to hold in one hand while typing with the other. Love it!

I have a Lenovo thinkpad that I use in the classroom. I love it, so I wanted a Lenovo for home. This computer is just the right size for sitting on my lap while watching television. It's fast, easy to set up, and relatively light weight. The only draw back for me is the sift key on the right side of the key board. Since it a smaller keyboard, the sift key is smaller and directly below the enter key. When I go to shift I hit the enter key instead. I would recommend this computer to anyone who is looking for a smaller laptop computer.

Originally bought the Asus Q304 for $500 but exchanged it for the Lenovo 710 14 on sale for $600 which comes with a nice 14" screen and small bezels. The deal breaker for me was the loud fan which would come on doing light intensive work. Ended up with the Dell 7378 on sale for $600 which comes with a smaller 13.3" screen but is quiet and has an infrared camera for Windows Hello which makes it feel high end. The Dell doesn't flex in the middle of the keyboard like the Lenovo. The Asus, Lenovo an Dell all have an aluminum chasis but the Dell feels much more solid. If there is an update to the bios or software to lower the fan problem on the Lenovo 710, it would be a great choice. I do like the design but in the end the Dell 7378 came out on top.

I bought this computer because my previous laptop of 6 years was no longer able to operate without being plugged into power (batter completely dead). Pros: the I5 is more than enough processing power for basic needs. I don't use it for gaming so I can't offer any reviews there. The display is great. The weight is superb. I love being able to easily pick up the computer with one hand and not have to worry about dropping it. The 2 in 1 function is nice for when you need to do more reading than anything else. CONS: the right shift key is not where you would expect it and somehow the computer causes my router to restart upon startup...9/10 times and I don't know why. Overall, A decent computer for the price. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this computer, but at the end of the day it still does its job.

With regard to this device causing your router to restart, there sounds like there is a software conflict between the device and the router. If there are drivers for the router that you installed on this device, you might uninstall the driver and reinstall. Additionally, there may be Networking - Wireless LAN drivers that need to be updated. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. You can do this by just typing "restore point" in the search window within Cortana and follow the link to create a restore point. Here is the link:

Had a Yoga, battery was shot, tried an Asus as a replacement, no good, got this, couldn't be happier...especially for the price! It's faster and more capable than I need. Plus, I have OCD and love the look and features of my Yoga. I'm pretty sure I'm just sticking to a Lenovo Yoga for the future.

Had it for about 8 month now. Still like it very much. Good screen, touch works quite well and the SSD makes it very responsive. The keyboard is the reason I only gave 4 stars. Lenovo in their wisdom decided to shrink the right shift key and move it further to the right, into a position where you have to reach over the "up arrow" key to reach it. Not smart, very inconvenient and irritating. Their suggested FIX is to remap the keys via a free Windows program from the web...Get real Lenovo I did re-map mine and switched key caps. Also added bump to the "up arrow" key to let my little finger find it.

This laptop is exactly what I needed! I'm a medical student who is always busy and on the go so I needed something ultra thin and light weight...There is already enough in my back pack to weigh me down, I didn't need the extra weight with a super heavy laptop( like my previous one) so this was perfect!..I didn't want a tablet but I wanted the option to use it like one and a laptop when I need it to be..It also charges pretty fast and holds a charge for longer than I'm used to...I just convinced a friend and fellow classmate to purchase this laptop as well...I pretty much am in love with this laptop (even though I'm still learning how to use it)

I initially wanted to purchase a new MacBook Pro (I've been a Mac user for quite some time), but the # 1 barrier for most looking to purchase a Mac is PRICE, which was also my barrier. I traded in my old MacBook Pro (I was surprised at the trade-in value I received) and once I completed the trade-in, I went to the open-box section to find a deal (I don't mind used electronics, especially if they're in excellent condition), but the Best Buy team member that was assisting me in the open-box section asked me a few questions and during that I made mention that I was looking for a 14" laptop and showed me the Yoga ultrabooks on sale (I was literally reading multiple reviews from several retailers online and the majority of the reviews were 3.5 stars and higher, which was a good sign for myself). There were two sale options (one w/ Office 365; the other w/o it) and being that I'm currently in college, I didn't need the Office 365 (thank goodness), so I ended up saving even more. All in all, at the day's end, with the trade-in value & the money saved by already having access to Office 365, I paid a little under $250 out of pocket for a new laptop (after not having one for several years). I'm happy with my purchase and potentially will stick with Lenovo products for the foreseeable future. My only issue is with the laptop is the lag I encountered when using Adobe Illustrator (I do realize I may need a bit more power in the foreseeable future, but this is nothing that's too dramatic currently), and the issue of not finding a pen stylus to use when I'm in tablet mode (I completely detest those smushy tip stylus options, as they just do not cut it for me, being a graphic designer). Aside from those issues, this computer was a great buy and I would recommend it to friends, families, and even those I don't know.
