I've had this laptop for 5 weeks now and it really is just what I needed/wanted. The 14 inch size is just the right size, very light weight, but it doesn't feel fragile. I love the amount of time I can use it on battery. My biggest issue with it is the Shift key, I still keep hitting the Up arrow instead. I was hoping I'd be more used it it by now. But I'm even getting used to using it with the touch pad and foregoing a mouse, which is something I've not been able to achieve with previous laptops. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would buy it all over again.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 710-14. With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Great laptop, we like the design. It boots fast, screen with HD look and feals great. Only thing we did not like the fan noise, fans are located on the edge towards the screen so when the fan runs ( runs fast) and the air reflects air towards the user to the noise is heard lot, if we flip the screen to tablet mode then we can hear the fan noise. I reduced power of the process on power management to 75% which is a lot that turns down the fan significantly

My laptop was running very slow (annoyingly so) and I was looking to replace it. I have had good luck in general with Lenovo so I concentrated on those models. This Lenovo Yoga 710 has been a good buy. It is fast, the screen is a good size (14 inch) without the laptop being too large to be comfortably portable. The keyboard is nicely laid out and the battery life is very good. It is not as thin as some of the newer models, but they are also much more expensive. This is a very good computer and reasonably priced for the offered features.

This was my first laptop purchase - always preferred desktops with larger screen and speed and didn't really need for mobility. Desktop died so headed to Best Buy and decided to give laptops a try. This Lenovo is a breeze - solid state drive starts up fast and quiet, stays cool, has a long battery life (@7hrs to get to 25%), touch screen tracks great, screen is clear, keyboard comfortable and good resolution. Spend most of my day on it and have had zero issues. Hasn't slowed down for anything yet. Would highly recommend this laptop.

Got this as an open box for $360. For that price it's a great value. The i5 seems perky, but haven't stressed it too much. Overall build quality is OK. So far, so good

I used this for the final year and a half of my undergraduate engineering degree. I bought it because it was light weight but still able to run coding programs (Matlab, etc) without an issue. Great battery life and the tablet functionality was great for note taking. Still using it 2+ years later with minimal issues. Mousepad does get stuck on occasion but its easy to get a nail or edge under and pop it back up.

I love the speed and looks of this laptop. The solid state flash drive boots-up in seconds. The sleek light weight design makes it easy to take anywhere. The only drawback so far is the placement of the right shift key. I often accidentally hit the up arrow key when I'm trying to use the shift key and need to move the cursor back down into place.

I've had this laptop/tablet for about a month and have no issues. I do use it quite often so the battery kind of drains but I usually keep the battery saver on while it's unplugged. the ease of the keyboard is great, the laptop itself is light, and the use of the tablet mode is a plus. So far no issues, I'm still getting used to not having a slot for inserting CDs but haven't really had the need for it. Overall, great product.

OK Laptop But Lots of Little Annoyances

Pros: 1. Faster than my beloved 6-year old Toshiba Satellite with its sad i3 processor and paltry 4GB of RAM. I can actually run all the programs I need now! Keeping in mind that most of what I do is just word processing, spreadsheets, viewing/editing PDFs, watching youtube vids, listening to music, scanning documents, video chatting, and managing emails. Though sometimes all at once. 2. 14" screen size is good for my needs. Big enough to be able to view two documents at once. But not so large that it's a boulder in my backpack. 3. Decent price for the features included. To find cheaper, I would have to compromise on the screen size/weight in order to keep the i5 processor and 8GB RAM. Cons: 1. With a solid state drive, I was looking forward to not having to deal with an annoying fan that distorted the sound quality of all my phone calls and video chats. Well, guess what? With this Lenovo you can still sound like you're talking underwater or in front of an airplane turbine! Because yes, this SSD laptop still has a fan. 2. The shift key on the right side of the keyboard is smaller than normal, thus causing all sorts of mistakes when I'm doing some fast typing. 3. The track pad is finnicky. It likes to think I'm doing a 3-finger scroll (and thus minimizing all my windows) when I'm only doing a 2-finger scroll. I figured out that doing an upward 3-finger scroll brings all the windows back, but having to do this constantly is disruptive. The Neutral: 1. I hated the Windows 10 with a passion at first, but I'm slowly adapting to it. 2. The screen folds back 360 degrees so that the laptop can be used as a tablet. But the 14" screen makes it awkwardly large and heavy to use as a tablet. I'm not a tablet user as it is, so it doesn't matter as much to me. All in all, the trackpad and fan issues are enough to warrant shopping around to see what else is out there.

Great computer, thin, light. It would get a higher score if the right hand shift key was larger and not right next to the up arrow. It gets really annoying when typing and you hit the up arrow instead of the shift key causing the cursor to jump up a line, but you haven't noticed right away and you've kept typing.

Set up was easy, this is a nice light weight computer. I enjoy the tablet flip feature. Problem is with the fan, I am not sure if it was due to a Windows update. So the fan kept running and running on high speed. Lenovo support was great, but I had to stay on the phone with them for an hour to fix it. The problem seems resolved unless I am streaming video or watching Verizon Fios or any other type of video. My fan runs on high speed and this computer is not even one month old. It took some getting used to with out having a numeric pad and the shift key on right hand side is not where I am used to. You also cannot go to "control home" which irritates me. I like the computer, but the fan still concerns me.

I had a Microsoft Surface Pro 3, but I have significant arthritis in my thumbs, which made supporting it in tablet mode very painful, but using it with the keyboard and kickstand out on my lap wasn't comfortable. This computer is used for working remotely (I own a small graphic design and marketing firm) as well as sitting in front of the TV surfing. I had purchased the 11" Yoga but it was too small to read comfortably on my lap. This one is the perfect size. I read the reviews before I bought it and there were only two criticisms that stood out. Several reviews mentioned the fan running all the time and being loud. They apparently have much better hearing that I do. I have noticed the fan a couple times, but mine is only noticeable occasionally and then it's nothing that would hold me back from buying it again. The other criticism I would agree with, but I have decided the pluses far outweigh this one minus. The shift key on the right side of the keyboard is awkwardly placed and requires stretching abnormally to use it. I would suggest to Lenovo that they swap the Page Up key and the shift key. In my use, I don't use the Page Up key anywhere near as often as the shift key. Overall, this computer has made me a true Lenovo Yoga fan-lightweight, compact with great power.

Purchased the Lenovo Yoga 710 as an open box Geek Squad certified device. It has a beautiful screen, nice backlit keyboard, boots up very quickly and is very speedy overall. My only complaint is that the screen does not get as bright as I would like but since it is primarily used indoors, it's not a major issue. Overall, it's a very nice laptop!

I was weary because I had never owned a Lenovo before but this laptop is fantastic. I love the speed, instant boot up, size, and weight, it has a sleek design, the performance holds up to online gaming and my dj sets, it has a decent battery life, and it feels durable. A nice metal cover instead of plastic. I'd definately recommend it.

I had several criteria for my daughter's school laptop: lightweight, strong alloy chassis, tablet mode with touchscreen, Intel i5 CPU, and 256 GB SSD hard drive. Th is Lenovo Yoga 710 had all that plus a sturdy hinge, 8 GB RAM and excellent built in stereo speakers. I would have preferred a 15" screen and an Intel i7 CPU, but at this price point I'm very happy with this model and my daughter loves how small, light and fast it is. I was also considering a very similar HP and a Dell, but they only had a 128 GB SSD. That probably would have been fine, but I don't like to skimp on storage and the Yoga just felt sturdier and had a more robust hinge. The Yoga had no CD ROM drive, but you don't need them anymore because all software and music is online anyway. It only has two USB ports, which is barely enough, but it also has a built in SD card reader and a display port. All in all, a great purchase for my daughter. And the Geek Squad protection I bought gives me extra warranty plus accidental breakage protection.
