It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal.

I take notes at meetings as well as run excel calculation sheets on it. I also use it to run my work email account on it. It has served it purpose well. It is very light and very portable. The battery life is really good. I get several days of use before i need to charge it.

If you open it up into tablet mode it helps
