This sounds like a possible initial Windows 10 activation issue. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files.

I read a lot of reviews of the Yoga 720 13 inch in which people complained mostly about fan noise, followed by battery life. I actually bought the HP Spectre x360 first due to those reviews, but returned it due to unhappiness with its trackpad. I then took a chance on the Yoga 720, and am very happy with my purchase.
I did initially have the same fan noise complaints - those fans were painfully loud - but after advice from other users online I made two tweaks. First, update to the latest bios (at this time that is 1.05). That update appears to reduce the fan noise when the laptop is under peak load. Second, download the free application "Notebook Fan Control" and choose the "Yoga 2 13" as the profile. That application prevents the fans from kicking in as frequently as they do by default. The net result of these two changes is I have a laptop which stays plenty cool with limited and very acceptable fan noise. I also think my battery life has improved, as I'm getting real world 8 hours of usage with screen near full brightness.
As for the laptop itself - it's great. Very good build quality. I was concerned that constantly grabbing the screen to fold it back in tablet mode would result in issues with the screen, but this unit appears very solid. The keyboard is pleasant to type on, the trackpad is wonderfully smooth and responsive, and the display looks good to me (although it is a bit dimmer than the Spectre x360). I am finding myself using this laptop more on the go than I have with previous ones (which just sat in a docking station) due to its flexible use as a tablet or laptop. While most of these flip screen ones are too heavy for actual tablet use, this one feels ok.
Overall two thumbs up for the Yoga 720 13 inch model. The Spectre x360 gets all the accolades, but as someone who owned both I honestly prefer the 720. The Spectre x360 does have better battery life, speakers, and display brightness. But the 720 has a better trackpad, and Lenovo's track record for build quality exceeds HP. I think this is the 13" convertible laptop to get.

I used this laptop for school as a Lenovo brand loyal customer from August 2017 - Jun 2020 until there was an issue with the motherboard. Overall, I am extremely disappointed in this product. My previous Lenovo lasted much longer. I will not purchase Lenovo for my computer needs, moving forward.

Audio stopped working after 2 months

I had previously left a 5 star review because I was quite happy with this computer, but have completely changed my thoughts on it since then.
After two months the audio stopped working. I tried reinstalling the drivers with no luck. Took it in to geek squad, and they said it was a hardware problem. They said they couldn't swap it out for a new unit, it would have to be mailed in to be repaired which would take at least 2-3 weeks. I use this computer for school, and can't send it off for weeks. The lack of audio is a large hindrance for studying.
This is the first and last Lenovo computer I will buy. When a computer suffers a hardware failure after less than 3 months of use, I certainly won't gamble on another of their products in the future

We are sorry to hear about the audio issue you are having with your Yoga 720-13. Since the audio was working for 2 months before it stopped, it could be a conflict with an automatic Windows 10 update. You mentioned you tried installing drivers, but we would recommend going to the Lenovo support site and using the "scan my device" feature, to check for all possible driver updates including audio. If it isn't drivers, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. Hopefully, once you scan your device at Lenovo-Support, you will find a driver update corrects the issue. This system should be a very fast system with its Core I-5 processor and 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults.

I received the Lenovo 2-in-1 laptop on a Tuesday and began to set it up that evening. I found that the touch screen did not work and it also would not switch to tablet mode. I made an appointment with the Geek Squad for Wednesday and brought it to the Joliet Best Buy. The Geek Squad agent said that Corporate warned all agents not to turn on anyone's PC because of some type of virus or other issue. I had already turned my PC on and asked him to at least look at the screen to see anything obvious. He said that my PC was missing a driver for the touch screen issue. I brought the PC home and called Lenovo. Their service agent took control of my new PC and said that there was a hardware issue with the machine!!! He suggested to send it back for repair!!! What!!! No way!!! Missing driver plus a hardware issue!!! I returned it to Best Buy and purchased a Microsoft Surface Edge. More money, but a much more reliable machine.

Bought this open box. One year of good usage and the keyboard is acting up (gets unresponsive at occasions). There is something about open box items as they don't seem to be delivering the hopefully intended product experience over a length of time and use.

Poorly designed - Hinge and Screen Broke

I had this laptop for 2.5 years. One day I closed the cover and the screen cracked in the lower right corner. The laptop hinge had separated from the cover and when I closed the cover the hinge pushed through the screen cracking it significantly. I understand this has been an issue with these laptops. I would not buy any Lenovo products as they may have the same hinge design. I have owned laptops since they came out decades back and NEVER had this problem. The repair cost for this is $500 to $600 so basically its not worth it. I paid $800 for it and expected 4 years of use at least.

I am very dissatisfied with the purchase of this laptop at Best Buy store, I paid $ 909.49 (no tax $ 849.99) on August 2 to buy it, did not use any discount, but a few days ago when I was visiting your store, Occasionally found the computer only need to pay $ 729.99, and can also enjoy student discounts.
In such a short period of time, you cut the price so much money, and because more than 14 days (although less than 30 days) from the purchase time, I can no longer make the price match.
Sometimes I feel very angry, I make money not easy.
