I have not had this laptop for too long but so far it has proved to be an exceptional laptop. The battery lasts longer than I expected and startup is very fast. The graphics and resolution are crisp and clear. I would recommend this laptop.

The Lenovo Yoga 720 15" matches the Dell XPS on every spec, but with the Lenovo on sale, it was nearly $1000 less than the similarly equipped Dell. The 4K display on the Yoga 720 is beautiful, and this is the first touchscreen I have used that reliably registers my touch. Build quality seems solid. Note to those considering other convertibles - when you fold the Yoga into tablet configuration, the keyboard is automatically disabled to prevent errant key activations from below. This is of course how it should be. But HP doesn't seem to know this, as the keyboard on some of the HP convertibles at Best Buy remained active in tablet mode leading to stray key presses. I wish the Yoga 720 had a few more ports onboard (Ethernet, display), but I knew about that when I purchased. Lenovo seems to be going the same direction as others in this regard, forcing you to buy and carry external dongles if you want those other ports. At least this laptop is Thunderbolt 3 compliant (2 channel), so additional ports can be added at full speed (vs adding a combo port expander on USB3.1 non-thunderbolt, which may have to reduce the speed of each to fit everything in the lower bandwidth of USB3.1 vs thunderbolt). Also note that the Yoga has a separate charging port, so it doesn't have the problem found in Apple and other devices that charge through the USB3.1 port, where you can use a USB3.1 dongle OR charge your computer. These are all little things that aren't obvious until you start looking at the details, and comparing to other options. In my opinion, Lenovo got it all right with this one.

My old gaming laptop burned up so it was time for a new one. I was looking for something that could handle Overwatch and this does that. I was originally looking at a low end Omen and an HP. The sale associate suggested this one instead as it had a better video card than the HP and a larger SSD drive than the Omen I was looking at. It's a very light and compact laptop which features a touch screen and the ability to fold itself over (thus the Yoga name) to act like a tablet. The screen is 4K and given that and the other addons, it's more expensive by half then the HP. I was lucky and it went on sale a week after I bought it and got it for $150 less. The system runs Overwatch very well. However it can get quite warm. So much so that I'm a bit worried about long term health of the computer. I've only had it a month and hope to get at least 3 or 4 years out of it. It has the chops to run today's games without difficulty, although probably not at the ultra highest video levels. But for a gaming laptop that can multi-function as a tablet or a lightweight laptop for traveling, it can't be beat. It streams movies with great 4K clarity. I took of the one star just due to the heat generation. Functionality, looks, and screen wise it's a 5.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 720-15. The normal operating temperature for this device should be between 100 to 150-degrees Fahrenheit at normal usage levels. Over tasking the device will send the system heat higher. If you operate the device within normal workloads, the fan within this system will be able to maintain optimum temperatures. Be sure the vents on the device are always clear. lenovo

Right now you'd be hard pressed to find anything better for the price. I don't know all about all the internals but it is a quick machine with a quad no dual core processor. Great picture on the screen and a nifty finger print reader. I have had for about a month now and it has run flawlessly. Sometimes the fans kick on and make some noise but they kick right back down. Battery life is decent streaming Netflix I get about 5-6 hrs at medium brightness. If you are looking for a new laptop this is the machine to get.

This is a great laptop, plenty of processing power (CPU and GPU), which will allow anyone to accomplish nearly anything they are looking to do. I work a little with Autocad and Inventor, various control systems programs, and some graphical design programs. I usually have multiple of these apps open at a time, while having a excel and word open, and a dozen tabs in Chrome. It hasn't skipped a beat. It's surprisingly lightweight for the specs. The screen is great (colorful and bright), the keyboard works well enough (I'm not super picky about keyboards, as long as they're not noisy), the battery will last 4-5 hours of continuous use. While there are only 2 USB A 3.0 ports and 1 USB C 3.1, these are fine for me. If I need more, I'll buy a USB hub. The speakers are the best in a laptop that I've owned (plenty of bass, plenty of volume). The only real complaint I have is software related; plenty of apps don't play well with the 4k screen. Popup boxes will be tiny and cramped, icons are beyond tiny, text is almost illegible. I can play around with screen and magnifier settings to get everything good enough in a certain app, but this sometimes leaves other apps too large or jumbled. It's a constant chore with certain apps that I use frequently. If I had a choice to buy again, I would choose the 1080p screen in the same configuration. Otherwise, this is a great laptop.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 720-15. With regard to some APPs not being compatible with the 4K resolution of the screen, this is on the APP side. As you point out, you can manually adjust for those non-compatible APPs but then your APPs that are compatible with 4K resolution will appear too large. lenovo

First, we went into the store & we're met by a very knowledgeable associate that listened to what we wanted & then showed us our options, even walked us through how to use each lap top we we're looking at. The best was he gave us space to discuss them but he stayed close enough to answer any questions. The laptop itself, we love! It has what we needed to run a flight simulation program, a cad program & office. Love, the touchscreen option! We are in our 40's so computers like this can be intimidating, as we learned computers using the dos system, but this computer is very easy to set up & add programs to. Thank you for helping us find the perfect laptop for us!

A beautiful 4k display, gtx 1050 graphics card, and an active digitizer display. Powerful enough to do video editing, and a battery that can last you most of a day. The cons are: no sd card slot? What a brain toot on the part of Lenovo. There is a lot of empty space along both sides of this machine, just begging for more ports. I have seen their Yoga 900 line, so I know they have the engineering skills to fit it in. I can think of anything on the market that can outdo it;s versatility as full fledged laptop and a 15in drawing space with plenty of graphics power to boot. Most digital content creators have nice cameras these days so an sd card slot is a must; I can only give it 4 as a result of this. I do think they could have made it a little thinner; otherwise, I think it's all but perfect.

After 2.5 weeks you will see a black line on the top of the screen. It's a screen defect. Because it usually takes more than 15 days for that piece in the display assembly to "drop down" you will only notice it after Best Buy's short return window is passed and you'll be stuck dealing with Lenovo's customer service. So you're either sending your laptop in for a few weeks or waiting for a tech to show up and cause more damage. It's really not worth the hassle, especially when you pay $1500+ for a laptop

I purchased this laptop last week (16Gig 4k-UHD GTX1050 model $1249.99) and changed the SSD to AHCI and did a clean install of Win-10 1703 with no problems. Lenovo makes it easy to download all the driver you need for a clean install. I also added a 100MB partition and installed Fedora-25 with no problems. The WIFI card worked perfectly with Fedora-25! I am extremely impressed with this laptop and very happy with my purchased. I highly recommend it. Also, the display is a true 4K-UHD display and not a cheap PenTile display like the ASUS 2-1 and some other low cost gaming laptops like Samsung, HP and Dells. One note, the laptop had a dead pixel and the workers at Best-Buy replaced it no questions asked. Kudos to Best-Buy for having a consumer friendly return/exchange policy.

The Hard Drive was too small for my needs so I had to upgrade it to a 1TB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD, which was easiely done. it does get rather hot when playing heavy Graphic intensive full screen Video games in the area just above the keyboard. I would imagine that is where the Nvidia GTX 1050 Video is located on the Board. Boots very fast. loads everything I run very fast. It is Faster then My Current Desktop PC. making it nice to take on the road to play Video Games, or edit pictures, Video, or do pretty much anything and it handles it all in stride. I like the Ink function to be able to use the Pen to touch up pictures, or just writing like using a piece of paper.

This model ships with a 512GB solid state hard drive. This model is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty. This is a high performance system with its Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB solid state hard drive. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. Be sure to always keep the cooling vents clear for optimum cooling. lenovo

I LOVE this computer! I only have one real complaint about it. Since I pretty much work on it all day, I really wish the battery life was better, but with the graphics card and everything it's understandable that it's not longer. Either way I still love it. Extremely quick and responsive in every way possible. Runs games decently with the Nvidia onboard GTX 1050m, GNS3 network simualtor with no issues. Great screen, touchscreen is nice with no lag. Overall aesthetically pleasing to look at, has the wow factor when people see it. ...However, productivity can be somewhat of chore. Trackpad isn't great, and there isn't a number pad. Keyboard isn't the greatest either but it will do. Obviously an external keyboard would work if it was an extreme issue.
