It's a good laptop and honestly my experience with it wasn't that bad. If reliability of this thing was bulletproof and I didn't have to deal with lenovo customer service for repairs, I would easily recommend it. I love taking notes on this thing especially paired with the lenovo pen pro. I'm however going to have to replace this laptop because it'sn't even a year into it's life cycle, but it's already experience major screen flickering problems. This wasn't something I was aware of while reading and watching reviews but its a problem that plagues many yoga line laptops because of the poor routing of the display cable. A simple search for lenovo yoga screen flicker will reveal countless other people with the same problem and countless other people getting absolutely no support or any proper responses from lenovo regarding the problem. This is my first lenovo laptop and it will be my last until they fix the poor build quality or actually honor their warranties regarding manufacturer defects.

Wish I could even give a zero stars. I don't know whether to blame best buy or Lenovo. I first got an Asus 2 in 1 ,14 inch from best buy which just shut off and could not be switched on and this happened intermittently. I had to return it within a week of purchase. I got this one because most of my friends had the 15.1 version and I opted for 13.3 because I always prefer a portable laptop. And that was the beginning of an end. The screen flickers so bad, some of my colleagues get upset just by staring at it. It could even trigger seizures in a predisposed person! And now. . I have a completely blank screen.... Nothing shows and it's been less than 2 months since I got this . . supposedly brand new laptop from best buy. Terribly disappointed!

We are sorry to hear that you are having screen flicker issues with your Lenovo Yoga 730-13. The issue you describe may be caused by a recent Windows 10 update that also requires a separate update of both BIOS and video drivers. This can easily be accomplished by using the Lenovo Utility software installed on this device. If you can not boo the device up, you will need to restore the device back to factory original settings. To do this, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. Once the factory reset is done you can now update all the operating system software on the device by using the Lenovo Utility software installed on this device. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help. lenovo

I purchased two lenova yoga 730-13 laptops in August 2018 for my daughters to use for school. These laptops have good speed and lots of features. But I'm only giving two stars because of the screen flicker issue. I started experiencing the screen flicker on one of the laptops after a couple months. I took it back to Best Buy and they exchanged it. So far that one hasn't acted up again. The second laptop started experiencing the screen flicker this month. Of course I'm past the one year manufacturer warranty now so I cannot exchange the laptop at Best Buy. I'm running the BIOS and driver scan in it now but I have already read online of the many consumers who have experienced this same issue and stated it's a problem with the display wire. I cannot believe that both laptops have experienced the screen flicker issue in a 15 month period. Why can't Lenovo recall this product and fix the display wire?

A couple months after purchasing this laptop, the same screen issues reported online by other people have started. The screen flickers and distorts almost like a bad signal when a cable comes loose. Horrible for a laptop that has seen very light use from my wife for less than 3 months.

I purchased this laptop in July 2018. 2 months later, the screen flickers, to the point where you cannot even look at it! After continuously flickering, it will either black out or go white. After researching the problem it appears to be YOGA WIDE. I have tried to contact support, tried both email and phone - no response and no answer. I then order a call back - surprise surprise no call. I am left with a defective $1,000 laptop and zero help from Lenovo. If someone from Best Buy/Lenovo see's this please help me! I am desperate.

I bought this computer for my daughter to take to college. First six weeks were great but since then nothing but trouble. First issue was a bad power button. Spent a ton of time on hold with Lenovo tech support finally to troubleshoot the bad power button. Drop off at Best Buy and wait 2 weeks to get back. Second issue is major screen flicker. My daughter mentioned it a week ago and I was hoping it would go away. It didn't. Became so bad that the computer became unusable and I have to go pick up computer tonight to drop off at Best Buy tomorrow for another two week journey to Lenovo. Two hours of wasted time on the front end and another two once I get it back. So, in the 15 weeks I will have owned the computer when I get it back, Lenovo will have had it for four of those weeks. Obviously a manufacturing issue / quality control issue that has not been resolved as the screen flicker is mentioned in a number of reviews. Great little machine other than the reliabiltiy.

Worst laptop purchase I've ever had. Screen flicker in 30 days, argue to return because it had been 32 days since purchase (yeah sorry didnt realize it was garbage), got replacement and guess what? Screen flicker in 45 days, oops sorry no return for me, my problem now. Send if for "repair", no computer for 4 weeks (thanks so much, was only for my business, clients don't mind). And yeah, faulty screen connectors, thanks so much for the fun times.

My daughter used this computer from Aug to December, then it began developing an increasingly annoying screen flicker. I initially debated my purchase of this device due to such comments. Luckily, before wiping the hard drive and updating as LENOVO keeps suggesting in their automated replies to these problem posts, I came across an interesting Youtube post (below) that claimed to have a 5 min fix. I followed the advice, taking off the back panel and then bending and giving the video cable a bit more wiggle room and 'play'. This worked, and my daughters 730 has not flickered since I did this. There's a chance that the flicker can come back as it did to the person in the video, but regardless if playing with this cable fixes the flicker for a few minutes or few days- that PROVES the problem is NOT software related. So how is it that LENOVO KEEPS SAYING THIS IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE? I have lost all respect for LENOVO and will NEVER buy another product from them. To think, I could have wiped all the data, then sent the machine into the black hole of support where they would have played with software for weeks/months then told me they had no answer for it. Check out the video link below. LENOVO- please own up to this pinched or overstretched video cable problem!!! Video: https://youtu.be/FOWtyMTIsNI

We bought this product in August 2018 for my daughter to take to college. At first, she thought it was great for her needs. By October, she started experiencing a screen flicker with lines running across her screen and screen freezing up. She took it to get repaired under warranty via Geek Squad. They replaced a connector. She was without her computer for 3 weeks. In April, she had the exact same problem but couldn't afford to be without her computer for 3 weeks as she was entering finals. She made it through finals but was worried that it would be unusable. I just sent it in again. I asked Lenovo if they will give us an extended warranty given the problems that we are having and the fact that our warranty is up in August. They said that they wouldn't. Lenovo does not stand behind their products. STAY AWAY

This is the worst laptop I have ever bought! I bought this laptop for school, I am in college and need a laptop that does well with this travel and doing homework on. This is not the laptop I would recommend to get for school or for any reason at all. I have had this laptop for 8 months and it was great until about month 3. I can't even use my computer anymore because the screen flickers so much. If I had it to do over again I would have never bought this computer. It has gotten so bad that my screen literally stays black more than it stays on.

Deeply regret purchasing this laptop. I've been lightly using it for 6 months and am having the same flickering screen problem as mentioned. I've tried resetting it, updating BIOS, etc. and the problem persists. Based on other reviews, it sounds like Lenovo is unwilling to work with customers and is happy to let them waste their money on a faulty product. I won't be purchasing a Lenovo again.
