My parents are very elderly and this laptop allowed me to work from various locations, be it the hospital or while caring for them at their home. My desktop is also an older Lenovo and even though it could be considered outdated, it gets the job done. The Microsoft platform has always been the proven winner for this lady. I was also advised on a recent visit by a tech from the Geek Squad that I had made an excellent choice in purchasing the Lenovo laptop.

As a number cruncher, the only downside is no dedicated number pad so I have to peck away like a monkey on a typewriter. But what it came down to was power/design/price and—at this time—the laptops on the market with a number pad seemed dinky. I’m happy with it and it’s great that I can flip the screen back and have clients sign their life away directly on the screen. And Lenovo, don’t you dare reply to this with a templated response; go get someone with personality and show some flavor, baby!

This model ships with a 3CELL 51.5WH, Lithium Polymer battery, with up to a 9 hour battery life, depending on the work that the device is performing. Even from completely turned off -fingerprint login is very convenient, though it doesn’t always work -good screen -reasonably slim profile & narrow bezels, for the price point -quiet fan Cons: -trackpad is mediocre, at best -touch screen and tablet mode are a joke. On all PCs. If I wanted a tablet, I’d buy an iPad I would have preferred better hardware with less bells and whistles, but it suits my needs for school & was reasonably priced.

By providing a light weight slim form factor, with a touchscreen and a 360-degree hinge, you can use the device as a traditional laptop or as a Windows 10-based tablet. No need to carry two devices any longer. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. Regarding your fingerprint reader not working every time, be sure to update the BIOS and drivers to the latest version available. This is easily accomplished by using the Lenovo Utility software installed on the computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

It is very fast and light. My previous laptop was an HP and it was satisfactory, but this is much better. The keyboard is comfortable and easy to acclimate to. It recharges quickly and holds a charge for several hours. The speakers on this laptop are also very good--fine clarity and the volume is amazing.

This computer is very lightweight and small enough to fit in my travel bag. I don't always use the 10 key feature and like that I could purchase it separate and just attach it when I need it.
