Customers are delighted by the Yoga 7i 2-in-1 laptop's fast performance, lightweight design, and long battery life. They appreciate the touch screen's sensitivity and the overall price of the laptop. However, some customers have concerns about the limited number of USB ports, the durability of the hinge, and the warranty coverage.

This is a great laptop. I lucked out and got a open box return with minor cosmetic damage on the bottom. It was heavily discounted. I would definitely recommend checking out the open box areas at Best But.

    Display/Graphics Problems?

The laptop for a while was nice, fast, and responsive in tablet mode. The fan is not too loud and the Dark Moss coloring is unique and pretty. I did the basic testing on day one including dead pixel test, mic, CPU Performance, etc. I also update to the latest Windows/drivers. Everything checked out. On the second day of using it however, the display suddenly went white while simply watching a youtube video (black on the right side of the screen was I guess display error or dirt inside the unit?). Additionally, the battery will charge to 99% then stop, staying on the message "11 minutes until full charge." It never did get to 100%. It states that it is plugged in and charging, but will go no higher than 99%. I will continue to test the laptop out but may opt in to replace it or send it back.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Intel Evo-Certified, Lenovo Yoga 7i-14. Regarding the display issue you describe, first, be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer. Then update all of the BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. Restart the computer after any updates. Now try the same video you had the issue with originally, see if the issue continues. Try another video source as well. Try play a video from another website to check for the issue you describe. Concerning charging the computer to 100-Percent. Try unplugging the computer and letting the battery level drop below 50-Percent. Now plug the computer in and let it charge to 100-Percent. If you leave the computer plugged in after charging to 100-Percent you will see the message "Plugged In Not Charging". This is the Battery Saver software protecting the health and overall longevity of the battery. Once the battery level drops to 95-Percent it will start Trickle Charging if still plugged in. This is a lower voltage charging pattern than normal, again to protect the battery health when plugged in for long periods of time at full charge. If you leave your computer plugged in all the time, you may want to consider using Conservation Mode Power Setting. This will only charge the battery to 60-Percent to prolong the health of the battery. If you have any further issues with your computer, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. This product is great if you want a laptop that'll last you barely 8 months. This laptop was great. I used it for school and just watching YouTube videos. I would like to preface this by saying i only used this as a laptop. Hardly ever did i switch this into the tablet mode. And i take very good care of my electronics. I even went as far as buying a case for it. Well unfortunately even that wasnt enough to save my laptop, today one of the hinges broke and cracked my screen from me just typing an essay. I cant even close the laptop. Please listen to the other reviews and save yourself a lot of time, trouble and money.

I got this computer on sale for $650, and for that price it is a great value. The internals seem pedestrian from an initial glance, but I have had a great experience with the system. It runs simple games, web browsing, Adobe creative cloud, and office great and I wouldn’t imagine needing anything else as an engineering student. I use a smart stylus to take notes and it works well for that. My only complain is that the screen is not super bright and the computer is not great for use outdoors.

It worked great for nearly two and a half years of light to moderate use. Without warning, one of the hinges failed causing the screen to break. It can no longer be closed without risking the entire screen being damaged and leaving the computer unusable. Poor workmanship ruined this otherwise functioning laptop.

I really liked this laptop until I had it for almost exactly a year. This laptop has been gently handled and a few weeks ago, one of the hinges broke free where it mounts on the screen panel. I was able to use some epoxy to re-affix it (not exactly pretty), but the bottom left corner of the screen is damaged. The other hinge attachment broke loose today even though I have been super careful opening and closing it.

DO NOT WASTE MONEY - IMMEDIATE HARDWARE FAILURE

I wasted $900. I bought this computer January of last year and in September both hinges popped off, cracking the screen. The inside of the hinge just cracked. I didn't drop the computer, never harmed it in any way. I flipped the computer using the 2-in-1 feature and the computer broke, proving it is a cheaply made, clearly a mechanical failure. Even worse is that Lenovo and BestBuy have failed to honor my warranty. Lenovo has been unresponsive through their website and emails, only responding to a phone call saying that they won't cover the damage. My warranty covers the product being fixed a year into purchase, and for any hardware failure on the part of the company. I lost almost $1000. Please do not buy this computer. I now understand that this is a common failure with these computers. I was hoping to save money by buying a computer with great storage and features and not having to buy a tablet. Turns out there are cheaper options that don't claim that they have a 2-in-1 feature. What is the point of being able to use the computer as a tablet if it breaks? I needed a long-lasting computer, not something that lasts for 8 months. I can't believe Lenovo won't honor my warranty and that BestBuy works with such a company. DO NOT BUY.

Garbage, garbage, garbage, Hinge broke in less than a month when I opened it and Lenovo did NOT fix it. They told me that warranty does NOT cover the broken hinge. This laptop probably wasn't opened and closed more than 20 times as it was always connected to the monitors via Lenovo hub. I couldn't believe when the hinge snapped when I just simply opened it. I did some research online and found million complaints about this issue. Apparently Lenovo has systemic issue with their laptop hinges breaking due to a bad design. I would not recommend their product, get a different brand

DO NOT BUY - BREAKS FOR NO REASON

I have owned this computer for 13 months. It has been mostly fine up until now - my complaints thus far have been how the computer can't handle having over 5 tabs open, and struggles immensely on Zoom. Easily gets overheated, crashes, shuts down. BUT YESTERDAY, the bottom right corner of the screen has popped OUT of the plastic border, and is completely coming off the hinge. Laptop is out of warranty now (typical), but even if it wasn't, this apparently counts as "customer induced damaged," so it wouldn't even be covered. As I'm reading other reviews, I am seeing this is apparently VERY COMMON. I am SO UPSET. I can't take this laptop to school now, because if I try to close the screen, the damage worsens. I can see all the internal hardware because the screen is completely ripping off the backing. I can't take this laptop anywhere now. I never dropped the laptop, and do not mishandle or treat it roughly. This is so disappointing. I will never be purchasing ANYTHING from Lenovo again.

DO NOT GET THIS LAPTOP! I've had this laptop for 9 months and the left hinge broke and cracked my screen. I would NOT get this laptop again and Lenovo support has not been helpful. Hopefully BestBuy will be able to help me repair or at least get a refund, but as a college student with a limited budget, this is a difficult situation to be in. I looked it up and this is a huge issue for this laptop, and typically it happens around the 1 year mark, WHICH IS WHEN THE WARRANTY EXPIRES. Avoid this laptop and save your money.

I bought this laptop in an emergency as a replacement for my stolen laptop so I didn't do full research beforehand. Laptop served well for what I needed to do until few days ago I closed it as I did all the time just to hear the crack and hinge popping the screen. After researching repair options I reached out to Lenovo CS to be told that they could not help me because"accident damage" is not covered under the warranty. There was nothing"accidental" about the damage. During my research I came across several articles about class action lawsuits being brought up over the same issue I had with my laptop - hinge suddenly popping out and Lenovo knew about it but didn't do anything to resolve the issue. So please be aware before purchasing anything from Lenovo. I know I will never again purchase their products.
