Great little laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased both the HP Envy 2 in 1 as an open box during last weeks sale and just got the Lenovo yesterday open box. There was about $120 difference the Lenovo being cheaper. Both are Intel Gen 11. I performed three different sets of performance tests and in all three the results were very similar with the Lenovo edging out the HP by a small margin. I wasn't sure if the I7 with 8 gb or the i5 with 12 gb would be the better performer. Now I know. Guess more memory makes a difference. Now as far as other differences, the screen on the HP has better colors and can get much brighter, but its a Sureview screen with terrible viewing angles. When its directly in front of you the display is really nice, but move slightly in any direction and its horrible. That's with Privacy mode off. With it on it gets much worse. I like the keyboard on the Yoga better though the HP keyboard isn't far behind. The fingerprint reader is better on the Lenovo. The Lenovo is slightly bigger and heavier but not by much. The display is 14" vs 13.3 on the HP. The HP has a better selection of ports, but that is easily resolved with a dongle. I like the moss green color of the Lenovo better then the gold on the HP. Build quality is probably slightly better on the HP, but its pretty close. Sound is a little better on the HP. I have decided to keep the Lenovo due to the following reasons: I would be saving money and get slightly better performance and much better viewing angles.

Posted .Hello, thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 7i. We are so happy to hear the performance, features, and sleek modern design of the Lenovo Yoga 7i is meeting your computing needs so well. For a boost in audio quality we recommend turning Dolby Atmos on. You can do this by typing "Dolby Atmos speaker system" into the Windows 10 Cortona search bar, opening the app, and turning on the power button at the top of the App menu. Here you can select between different sound profiles depending on your usage scenario.

Geek Squad Line Unhelpful; Store Agent Unhelpful
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed service on my laptop. I tried calling in and I waited for enough minutes for me to drive 57 miles to the nearest Best Buy. I got here and there were no Geek Squad appointments. The agent told me that it would be a month from the date my computer would ship. And yet I couldn’t begin that process because no one would help me ship my computer to someone who could help. This is disappointing. I can’t use my computer and I can’t get anyone to help me fix my computer either.

Dead on arrival
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it as a Christmas present for my wife. She just opened and the laptop doesn't turn on. Without the power cable it doesn't even turn the power light on. With the power cable it looks like it's charging but when powering on it turns the light on for a second and goes off right away. Haven't been able tu turn the computer on for the first time. I also unsuccessfully tried the emergency reset on the botton. A Christmas disappointing.

I love this laptop but....
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop so much! So light, so convenient and the touch screen responds really quickly. Don't let the size fool you. It may be small but mighty and does just what i need it to. My only complaint is less than a year in, one of the hinges broke from my laptop and cause the lower left hand corner of my screen to crack. This laptop has always been kept on a flat surface and has never fallen. It is still usable but without the use of the touch screen. I still love my laptop and once the screen it fixed it will be just like new!.

Excellent Value - Thin and light with latest specs
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent value. To get the latest Intel 11th generation CPU with 512GB SSD and 12GB RAM in a just right 14" touch screen is a great value. Lenovo does a great job combining value with excellent specs. The laptop flies - startup fast and apps launch instantly. Battery life has been great so far - no concerns or need to carry the charger for a full day of normal use. Physical appearance wise, the laptop is thin and very light. Definitely an ultra-portable. The dark moss color is more of a brownish color but still a good looking color and stands out among the silver-colored laptops out there.

Great battery life
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great battery life and very fast processor. I can us this all day before having to charge the battery. Love the touch screen. The keys have a good feel. I think this is the perfect size. It was easy to set up. The only thing I can think of that could be improved would be an additional USB port. This is common for computers with a solid state processor.

Excellent laptop for the moderate user
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased as a replacement for a laptop for the wife. Screen is very good. 11th gen i5 is adequate for what she uses the machine for. Would prefer 16GB ram but 12GB is good for her needs. Form factor is nice. Machine is light and feels well constructed. Have not had any issues or complaints. purchased at $699 sale price so was well worth it.

Curse you Intel Evo. So Close.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this along side a few other laptops. such as the Hp envy 15 Samsung galaxy book alpha Dell insprion 7000 Acer swift 3 but ultimately chose to pass on this due to the screen. On paper this is the ultimate budget machine. Screen: 14 inches with for the best of both worlds, screen real estate and portability. Touchscreen, 300 nits, and color accurate ratings. Hardware: 12gb ram, 512 gb ssd intel i5 CPU I/O: usb c 3 thunderbolt and charging via usbc latest wifi 6 chip ultimately the price point $650 on sale. These specs are very convincing, but in my testing over a few days of use it went back. Here's why. First off the build quality is good and stiff hinges, that allow your tent, but not fully collapse. I personally am not a fan of tent mode because when I am buying a touchscreen I intend to use it flat as a tablet with a pen. Now the screen. 14 inches is the perfect size for a laptop in my personal opinion since it makes the laptop weight closer to 3lbs and generally helps with battery life. I didnt have issues with color accuracy, as my day to day use doesn't require color accuracy but found the 300 nits underwhelming, and closer to 250-275 nits. Beyond the soldered ram, speaking of which 12 gbs is plenty for most people that aren't doing very computing. I generally only top around 7.5gbs used during multitabbed chrome sessions with video calls etc. We all know the wonders of ssd, which really should be standard. No faults there. the real bottle neck is the i5 processor, certified intel EVO. This means Lenovo has to intentional throttle the chip , sacrificing multicore performance for extended battery life. The EVO certification is given when an i5 chip can hit 9+ hours or more. (this is of course 9+hours in the best use case, not heavy load) The Yoga 7i is rated at 13 hours, which I never came close to. A general rule of thumb when gauging real life to these highly controlled use case numbers is to divide it by half. So in reality my use actually did come closer to around 7 hours of battery life, which isnt bad and actually really impressive for a laptop of this price point. But the frustration of the the cpu throttling I experienced a few hiccups when opening office suites while browsing chrome, and had a stream playing in the background. Not soul crushing, but noticeable. Overall, I liked this machine, and I would even recommend this to most people on a budget. Lenovo clearly knows what consumers want and are putting it in a really convincing package. now only if they can offer this with an ryzen 9th gen chip.

Posted .The Lenovo Yoga 7i-14 model number 82BH0006US, is an Intel Evo Certified Platform. Co-engineered by Lenovo and Intel to provide the ultimate experience for life and work anywhere, the Yoga 7i introduces the Intel Evo platform for the perfect combination of performance, battery life and stunning visuals. If you are experiencing slower performance and shorter battery life, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Solid 2-in-1 laptop with good overall features
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Yoga 7i feels as solid as a macbook but at a fraction of the cost, has good brightness and speaker sound, the fan runs not too loud or too frequently since I'm not pushing the laptop beyond simple office software, online videos and browsing. It once made me force restart but after easily doing a bios update via a Lenovo app, I haven't had any other issues. My biggest problems with it are that I wish it had upgradable or more ram, and the camera quality is very bad. Both are things that I knew or was expecting before making the purchase since I did my research and also given the price-point. At least one of those can be remedied by using an external USB webcam. As far as the inability for user RAM upgradability, it seems that to make the laptops thinner, Lenovo and other companies are soldering it onto the motherboards. I hope this trend is reversed if enough people complain about it’s limitations. That upgrade option would increase the overall machine longevity for those of us who care about creating less e-waste and stretching our dollar for as long as possible until the next computer purchase when absolutely necessary. And yes, I am very aware that products manufacturers don’t want them to last too long as that ultimately means less profits for them if you aren’t replacing them often. Unlike some others’ reviews of bad screen quality, I consider it to be sufficiently bright for probably most users. Also, some have shared about their quickly draining battery, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how long it lasts between charges. I love the convenience of being able to display and charge the laptop via a single USB type-c cable when connected to my external monitor. That requires no hauling around the power brick every time I need to recharge. All said, I would definitely buy this 2-in-1 again at the originally paid price but especially when at a discounted price and with Best Buy’s price-match policy.

Gotta buy the Yoga 7i!!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very solid construction. Crispy graphics. Great battery. Delivers on all aspects advertised. Full disclosure, I had no idea I was buying a 2-in-1. I've been on big screen devices for as long as I can remember and did not even know this sort of thing existed. My dinosaur Sony from 2012, with a touch screen and the good old HDD, died last month and this was a recommended device for daily computing, MSOffice work, browsing, etc..., but I was skeptical and as it was a bit smaller than I was used to at first, I found an alternative 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop for $150 bucks cheaper but similar specs. I thought I would save the extra bucks and get a larger screen. Similar specs, Geek squad said both were good options, surely I would be returning this one. So I put this on the side while I played with that one, for about two weeks, and was unimpressed. I figured I would need to charge this one before getting back on it, but nope, still at 50% battery after sitting idle for two weeks. Ha!!! Amazing. For this one, the screen doesn't bend or move when you touch it. That is a pretty important feature for a TOUCHSCREEN. But we are not reviewing the other one, so no comment. This screen is super crisp with great resolution. The camera is crystal clear. The keys are firm and responsive with a clear travel for input to occur. Speakers flank the keyboard with crisp, clear sound. In every manner, it just feels well made. Solid, not flimsy. I feel like I could drop it and be okay, and I am sure I will. Then there is tablet mode. Holy Moley. I've never had something so versatile. I picked this up on sale and I am very happy with the purchase. As to the battery, over 9 hours of use on a full charge. I haven't tried to run it to zero yet, but I can be sure that any travel for work will not beat this battery, which eliminates the hassle of my old beast where the battery died in under an hour. The only cons I have so far is the lack of a CD/optical drive and a single standard USB port. Maybe I am the dinosaur who uses the USB mouse on a touchscreen, but maybe I can learn new tricks. I still use a thumb drive as well, not all cloud based yet, and so I see that as an annoyance in the future. Time will tell. Buy it.

Does the Job :D
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this thing! Went in looking at a different 2-in-1 but didn't like the privacy screen (seriously HP, why would you make a privacy screen built in???) I wanted something with new Intel Evo platform and was looking around but didn't exactly like what I saw. Had a wonderful sales associate helping me. Hopped on their website and saw this was in stock but not on display. I looked it over on the website, looked great! Bigger SDD and more Ram. Evo platform. To top it off... on sale for $649.99. Killer Deal!!! I use this laptop for normal, everyday stuff.... Microsoft Office, light picture/video editing, email, banking, YouTube, etc... I can play all of my older games just fine, no issues. I downloaded BlueStacks so I can play Android Apps on here with no issues (Clash of Clans!!!). I LOVE the backlit keyboard. The battery is pretty darn good. I can sit and play for hours with no worries. If I'm not playing games, the battery lasts even longer, obviously. Fingerprint reader is awesome. The speakers are pretty good, but I am no audiophile and I am not going to nitpick because I don't use this for my home theater or listening to remastered music. This thing boots up and is ready to start doing whatever you want in mere seconds. If you read the critic reviews, they clearly state that it's only OK for a $1,000 laptop. They're absolutely correct and for $1,000, I would have gotten something else. But I didn't pay anything near that. For the $649.99 I paid, it is worth every penny and I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with the purchase!!!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good product. Latest intel inside core i5 cpu with the integrated evo intel iris Xe graphics. Good combination, works well. 512 GB SSD, 12 gb L.A. Ram, 14" screen. All good. 2xThunderbolt 4 usb type c ports @ 20 gbps speed, 1x usb type a port @ 10 gbps speed: Nuff said. And open box excellent for $521...whaaaaat?!...yep...and was same as an unopened box... perfect. Battery life excellent since FHD screen. No problems whatsoever. Worked as advertised. Fast, good screen. Perfect do it all laptop for a good price. Apple, no Thunderbolt. Microsoft surface, no Thunderbolt. In this here budget machine they give you TWO Thunderbolt 4 ports(better than TB 3). But no dedicated card reader or hdmi; but no problem, with a small dock station you can run anything you want through one TB 4 port. All the laptop manufacturers are skimping on the ports, but at least Lenovo gives you Quality ports. Even if you only had One port and it was Thunderbolt 4 usb type C( like this machine), you could do everything from the one port by plugging in a dock station: 4k and 8k monitor, charge computer, computer charge peripherals, ethernet cable, card reader, usb A and C, MiFi stick, TV tuner, wired mouse and keyboard, ad infinitum. The single TB 4 usb Ç port handles anything you can throw at it. Also has a dedicated combo mic/earphones port. It is a little pricey at full price, but on sale it's a good deal. Fingerprint reader very good. Speakers on top, so good sound. Good keyboard with very good backlighting. I'm all in. Runs very cool, very quiet.

Few ports
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seems to be very well built with very good sound, good screen and respectable speed for every day use. The Wi-Fi works well, but range is limited. I recommend it if you buy it on sale and if you do not need many ports. It has only one USB, two C ports and a headset connection. The "tent" configuration is useful to watch videos or for presentations, but as a "tablet" is too heavy. In this moment I have 25% battery left, or 3 hours remaining.

Excellent computer at an excellent pricepoint
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this computer to replace an aging macbook air. My work made me use a new macbook pro which I absolutely hated, so when I went looking for a computer to replace my older personal computer I ended up drawn to this machine. If Apple had released a new macbook pro with an SD card reader, I may have gone that route. But I opted for this lenovo because of its keyboard and pricepoint. 1) the price is right, and at the pricepoint better than most other computers out there. It has a premium build quality to it, a solid keyboard, and on the whole is a competitive computer among those that sell for $1000, save $700 which is what I paid. 2) Battery life ranges for me from 5-10 hours depending on what I'm doing. I'm pretty demanding and push the computer to its limits, but it holds up. I wouldn't use this for video editing (or even heavy photo editing), but for what I do (writing and audio production) it does fine. 3) There is some level of bloatware you'll have to remove. But that's par for windows machines. I came to this from a macbook and can't complain about the software (I used windows thru windows 7 before swapping over to a mac). My big cons are the speakers and display. The display is dim on battery, and if you increase its brightness to max it will affect your battery life. The speakers are good, but undercut by some vibration in the computer chassis that makes them sound... tinny I think is the word. Especially when you're playing voice audio. My big pro is the build quality and performance. It doesn't choke up, and the computer feels solidly build. Miles ahead of anything else at its pricepoint.

Great for the money.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really solid laptop for the money. I took a chance on this one because I wanted the 11th gen processor. So far the laptop has been great. Fast, looks nice, and does everything I need. Two thunderbolt ports and nice along with a usb port. Would have liked an ad card slot but not a huge deal. Speakers sound good on it and screen is good to. Make sure to turn off the auto brightness if you want the brightest settings. The extra ram is nice and 512gb storage is terrific. They said it's aluminum build but the coat they have on it makes it feel somewhat plastic but it does get the cold metal feel still. Haven't had it long enough to give real input on the battery life, but it does charge quickly. I got this in sale and for the price I don't think you can find a better overall laptop.
