The Lenovo Yoga 920-14 4K model ships with a 4CELL 70WH, Lithium Polymer battery, with a battery life of up to 9 hours, depending on the work that the device is performing. To maximize battery life, be sure there are no unwanted programs running in the background, draining the battery. Here is a link to some tips for finding out what is draining your battery:
https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/battery-saver-windows-10. Also, to maximize battery life, try changing your power management setting to a more conservative one. You can do this in the control panel, in the power management category on your system. Select a more conservative power management setting to extend battery life. Finally, if the battery life does not improve, a battery reset may help. Here is a link to instructions for resetting a non-removable battery. If you need further assistance, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Here is the link:  https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-reset-a-laptop-battery. Regarding the brightness of the 4K screen on this model, the screen is a IPS LCD w/LED Backlight screen, with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (UHD) and a brightness level of 300 nits. To maximize the screen brightness, be sure "Auto-brightness" is turned off. After 1.5 years, it crashed. Lost everything. Everything from work and one year of school projects for my portfolio. Gone. I take responsibility for not backing up my work. Still, a very expensive machine for this to happen to. I got the geek squad protection when I purchased it, thankfully. They sent it off to replace the motherboard which took a month. A month without my computer that I needed for work. When I got it back, I attempted to re-install Microsoft Office suite. I'm looking at the progress bar on the download right now - 4 hours in and I'm at 10%. One headache after another. So much money for nothing. I'm seriously questioning whether I'll ever spend money here again. Since getting it back from the manufacturer, it doesn't operate quite the same. Apps crash, the wifi takes awhile to connect. It absolutely kills me. I thoroughly and strongly regret this purchase, and it breaks my heart.

The Lenovo Yoga 920-14 is a high performance system with its Quad-Core/Eight-Thread Intel Core i7-8550U processor 16GB of RAM and a 512GB solid state hard drive. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal. lenovo

    1. Does not connect reliably to my conference room television. 2. Track pad stops working randomly 3. Does not automatically change out of tablet mode sometimes. I need a computer that does the same thing every time under a certain condition. With this computer is it hit or miss and there are far too many misses.

The Yoga 920-14 uses the latest 5G, 802.11AC WiFi. Although 802.11AC is backward compatible to older b/g/n frequencies, be sure your router has the latest firmware updates to guarantee the best wireless connectivity and transfer speeds. You can check for router firmware updates at the router manufacturer's web site. Also, be sure your television is compatible with the 4K resolution of the screen on this device. You may need to adjust down the screen resolution of the Yoga 920-14 to match the resolution of your television. The trackpad issue and changing from laptop to tablet mode, sounds like it may be a software update issue. You can easily check for software updates for this device by using the Lenovo Utility software installed on this device. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help. lenovo

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Yoga 920-14. Obviously, the Yoga 920-14 should not stop working without reason. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. lenovo

Quality of this product is poor. There are may bending upwards/downwards reported and no sign from them this is factory issue. My laptop was not closed let's say 20 times since I bought. Is just sitting open on my desk months in a row. After about 1 year my 920 Yoga started to bent and wobbling on flat surface desk, the front-left rubber leg was to short to do his job. I stick some 5 mm rubber legs to create some space under. Now, after some time, I saw the screen is not closing properly over the keyboard. Just above the trackpad is expanding. Looks like battery expanding issue. For sure this is my last Lenovo product.

We bought Yoga 920 and We thought Lenovo is good brand for reliability but after 2 years laptop does not bootup. Technician suspecting mother board replacement could fix this issue. It seems this motherboard issue is commonly found in most of the yoga 920 model. The cost of mother board almost same as laptop cost. I will never ever buy Lenovo brand and would like to recommend everyone do not wait your money and time. I am loosing my 1500$ without getting enough benefit with this laptop. We are going to file compliant with FTC.GOV. Lenovo should do something about this issue.

Purchased Yoga 920 2-in-1 13.9" 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD - Platinum in July 2018 for my daughter to take to college. Paid $1600. Was an awesome performer but the speakers quit working just out of warranty and were not repairable according to online forums. 2 days ago (October 13, 2020) the computer quit working. After $40 diagnostics charge we were told it's not worth repairing. A computer this expensive should last longer than 28 months.

I bought this laptop just over a month ago. One time I used the foldover screen to show my wife it could be used as a tablet. It has not worked since. Best Buy is closed here and Lenovo said they would fix it. I received one call from the tech telling me she was too busy, and she has not returned a phone call since. Best Buy said they tech's can only diagnose, they cannot fix. Replacing it was not an option, even though I just bought the computer in September at Best Buy and bought their service plan.

Specs are amazing. If Lenovo addresses the battery and charging issues, then it would have been a keeper. Unfortunately, not knowing whether or not your computer will turn on or be drained, even with it plugged in, is not worth the hassle. This took about 30 days into ownership to realize. Thankfully I'm Elite Plus and had no problems with returning it before 45 days. This could have been 5 stars...

This open box had some damage to the case but the unit was defective. it would slow for no apparent reason, meaning you would be opening apps or working on a spreadsheet when suddenly you could type a "n" and the machine would stop for 30 seconds before the "n" appeared. Could be a defective ssd drive

    gets hot

I am new to Lenovo. I am basically a Mac person, but needed a PC for some specific software I use for sewing embroidery. My first impressions are:1.it gets very warm underneath, this is lovely in the winter, like holding a hot water bottle, but will not be very nice in a warm climate. 2. there is no documentation with the machine, but I just plugged it in and the assistant Cortana did everything I needed to, very easy. 3. it was not clear from the pen instructions which direction to inert the batteries, I got lucky. Disappointed it isn't rechargeable. 4. Fan is quiet 5. I like the keyboard, I have a light touch and it works well for me. 6. I compared the UHD and the FHD screens side by side in the store. I could tell the difference, and since my work deals with color, I went with the better UHD screen.7. I like that it has one old style usb since I need to import embroidery designs from a usb stick. I didn't have to buy an adaptor like I would for some other machines. 8. I really like the watch band hinge and the slightly bigger screen (13.9 vs 13.3 others). 9. When I got the box it was sooo heavy! Not sure why since the computer only weighs about 3 pounds. The charger wasn't that heavy either. The box itself weighs a lot, maybe for cushioning. 10. This 8550 i7 processor is super fast, love it! Even though this machine probably has much more power than I really need, it is nice to know that because I just purchased a cutting edge machine, it will last a long time before I have to update again. As a Mac user I am liking Windows 10 a lot more than other versions I have worked with.
