At front of the keyboard, on bottom, are down firing low frequency JBL speakers that do a stellar job, watching movies are so awesome. Prefer this laptop and would recommend to my friends.

Posted .This is a high performance system with its Quad-Core/Eight-Thread Intel Core i7-8550U processor,
16GB of RAM and a 512GB solid state hard drive. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal. The cooling vents on this model are located within the hinge area, be sure to keep this area clear for proper cooling.

Expected More for the Price

The casing is beautiful, the hinge does its job of letting me have a 2-in-1 without feeling flimsy or floppy. As a software and game developer, I really push the system and it keeps up with my beefy desktop in all but extreme cases. This is all great until you add on Lenovo's "support". Their constant updates constantly break things and make performance slower until they fix what they broke. Not to mention that I don't get to use the machine the way I want to because whenever there's an update it will reset key bindings and other features. So, I end up using the machine the way Lenovo wants me to. I have truly enjoyed this machine over the year plus time I've had it, but I would have given it an easy 5 stars if Lenovo could just back off and don't fix what's not broken. As an example of a Lenovo update: Despite having auto-update turned off, I get a notifiication that tells me that an update was installed and that I should restart my computer to finish installation. So I do when it's convenient. Since then (2 weeks ago) my computer has been acting weird!. I can't restart my machine without it crashing, my speakers don't work and can't be detected, and sometimes the video card goes weird where it can't even display web pages. Best of all, Lenovo says they have an update for me to run, but my computer is acting so weird I can't run the update to fix it. Ha.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 920-14. You are correct, this system should not freeze up. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

What a MacBook pro should be!

It became apparent that the Yoga 920, i8 processor with Windows 10 was the better value hands down- double the memory and hard drive space plus it converts to tablet mode! I began to think how long would I have to wait for Apple to make something like it. I took the plunge. Learning Windows 10 takes a bit getting used to but overall it's the best bang for the buck! Don't get me wrong I still love Apple but they have to be competitive on price because every one else in the market has caught up or passed them.

Nice quick 2 in 1 laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only been using this laptop for a couple of days but it is a very nice unit that is very quick on startup and does not seem to present any issues at this point. It is difficult to give a real in depth review as I have not used it for very long. However the keyboard is nicely spaced and the display is excellent! The only issue I have run into is that you will need to purchase a USB-C port replicator to connect external displays or wired ethernet because there are only USB-C and 2.0 ports on the laptop itself. Other than that I have been happy with its operation.

Posted .The Lenovo Yoga 920-14 ships with a Thunderbolt port which carries a video out signal for an external monitor. There is also one standard USB port on the Yoga 920-14 that you can connect a USB to ethernet adapter to, to connect an ethernet cable to this device.

Fast and easy to connect. Battery life is somehow ok and can become hot with continued use or with bigger files. The main downside is lack of enough connecting ports meaning that I had to buy extra accessories like a card reader. CD drive. Otherwise this is a well thought of device and portable and not conspicuous as some other devices out there. Looks expensive. I would buy it again.

The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. The cooling vents are actually within the watchband hinge, so be sure to leave this area clear for optimum cooling. With regard to the fingerprint reader not working, this sounds like a software update issue. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

There weren't many reviews on this specific one and some of the cons were geared towards the loud fan. Considering the powerful processor I thought I would sacrifice a little quiet time for a machine I would utilize everyday. BIGGEST PROBLEM I have found is when typing the touch screen must malfunction because all of a sudden wherever my mouse icon is located it changed what task I am doing and selects random programs/parts on screen.

You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad.
