Also, contrary to sales rep it does come with a pen and a very good one at that, one downside is that it's storage utilizes the only USB port, which is another con , the fact it has the one standard USB port. Otherwise I've found this to be an incredibly fast powerful machine.

Having a full HD screen on a computer is for me a nice upgrade. The memory is good for running Adobe Lightroom (I haven't tried Photoshop yet) for you photographers out there. The USB 3.0 port is fast enough for an external hard drive for holding pictures. The instant-on of the solid state drive is a nice plus, and it is certainly quieter than a traditional hard drive. My only personal issue is the size of the hard drive because of my photos, but other than that, this computer has met or exceeded all of my expectations.

The instructions Lenovo included were minimal (it’s not rocket science how to use a device like this, but some pointers on how to take full advantage of the system and set up things like the pen would have been helpful instead of just figuring it out on my own and using Google). My fingerprint reader stopped working after a system update, but a phone call with Lenovo’s tech people fixed it (but still shouldn’t have issues like this after only 2 months). Overall, it seems to be a very good system so far and I would buy it again.

With regard to learning your way around Windows 10, you may want to try YouTube.com (just type that address in your browser address window). There are hundreds for free instructional videos there about Windows 10. Just type Windows 10 Introduction in to the YouTube search window. You can watch free videos there that will show you the basics all the way up to tips and tricks videos and they're all free. All documentation for Lenovo Computers are available online. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device, this too is normal. The Yoga 920-14 ships with a 4CELL 70WH, Lithium Polymer battery, with a battery life of up to 9 hours, depending on the work that the device is performing.

Awesome, literally only one flaw
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The ONLY flaw with this laptop is that the way the pen is held is absolutely horrific. It uses a flimsy plastic piece that takes up the USB port and since it doesn’t firmly hold the pen in place the pen scratches the side of the laptop when it moves. Other than that awesome machine. That is the only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars. If there was an aftermarket magnetic clip like the surface has or some better option this wouldn’t be an issue at all, but I can’t find one. Regardless I would still recommend this laptop, the performance and versatility are great.

My husband bought this for me for a gift as my old one was a pain and made school difficult! Anyways it ran VERY hot at first then after it did an update it no longer runs hot. The only thing frustrating about this laptop so far is my speakers randomly went out and drivers had to be re-installed, then it has happened 2 more times since and restarting the computer has fixed it. If I didn't have videos for class to watch/listen to, I probably would have NEVER noticed.

Regarding the speakers going out on the device after a Windows 10 update, you can make sure your Yoga 920-14 is always up to date with BIOS files and drivers by scanning the computer regularly - Especially right after a Windows 10 automatic update, with the Lenovo Utility software installed on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

A lot for the money

It has so many features that it would be a disservice if I tried to list them all so it's better to just refer to the spec sheet. That said, it's build quality and ease of use is excellent and it will make a great laptop for the college student. I did find the inclusion of the pen a nice added bonus and the security of GeekSquad made the purchase easier. There may be better laptops out there but at this price point, it's hard to beat.
