Ultra Premium with a secret catch
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Black Leather Shell - a very different feel. Love it or hate it Speakers - Best in class for a Windows Laptop Screen - The 4K HDR-compatible screen is perfect for content watching. I bring the screen resolution down to 1440p to increase battery life. Cons: TouchPad - The touchpad and the surrounding area is built with glass, which is a nice feeling, however when typing in long sessions my hands began to slip. ALSO, this is NOT a typical trackpad. There is not a physical button but relies on haptic feedback. It did take me a week to get used to it, but it is a completely different feel. Price- At the stock price of around 1800, a device is a premium option at a premium price. I got this unit on sale, in combination with a student deal for 1250.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Intel Evo-Certified, Lenovo Yoga 9i 14 model number 82BG0001US. This configuration ships with innovative features such as an an edge-to-edge glass palm-rest that feels smooth to the touch. The integrated buttonless glass surface multi-touch touchpad, supports Precision TouchPad (PTP) features and is intuitively centered under the QWERTY keyboard, right where you would expect to find it. There is also a integrated Touch Style Ultrasonic fingerprint reader on palm rest, with match-on-host identification for added security. A subtle outline around the fingerprint reader, makes it easy to find. The Ultra-sonic sound waves make reading your fingerprint quicker, easier and more exact. We are pleased to hear that the value and performance of the Yoga 9i 14 meets your computing needs so well.

Compact Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this one since my old Lenovo machine gave some issues after 6+yrs.I had only problem with HDD on my old m/c.YOGA 9i is very light and fast, display was awesome I chose 4K.Very useful with the remote work, the only one con I would say is lack of ports.2 thunderbolt is not enough.

Lenovo Yoga 9i 14” - My GoTo Daily Use Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great design for my needs. Slim & light weight. Multi-position screen with touch interaction. Touchpad not as difficult to use as some have said; simply look at where the pad is (about same horizontal fit as the space bar). Mine works great (double-click needs some getting used to). Could use at least one more USB-C port. Used Lenovo Vantage to update drivers & such; worked much better than expected. Wireless works, but should be a bit better. Love the 14” display.

Great litttle laptop
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this machine packs a lot of punch for this price, although some features will not be valued to some folks. Display. This model has the 4k display, but its not just about the extra resolution. This screen is also considerably brighter than the 1080p model, better color gamut, better contrast, better dynamic range, and so on. Fantastic experience, and, IMO, this screen alone is reason to pay the extra dollars over the 1080p model. Audio. The Yoga 9i's might have the best audio speakers I have ever heard in laptop, and, mind you, this is a 14 inch ultra light and thin unit. Its not supposed to sound this good. I have heard louder, others with more bass, etc., but all around this is the best audio I have experienced (I have used 100's of different laptops). Performance. It is what it is. That is what you have to tell yourself with an ultra light and thin chassis with an ultra efficient series CPU. It's going to get thermal throttled for gaming, media encoding, and other long duration high intensity tasks. Memory is not upgradable, but 16GB and its fast. The bright spot is the SSD, and it is very much premium speed. It is blazing fast. Few words, this laptop is not for AAA gaming in high settings, hardcore 4k content creation, and things like that. Works in a pinch for the high end, but otherwise the performance is more than most will need the vast majority of the time. Connectivity. Wifi is brilliant, BT has excellent range, 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports open up a huge world, legacy USB A, headphone jack, no HDMI. I would have preferred they ditched the legacy USB A, and given the HDMI. the adapter for USB C to A is small, the one for USB C to HDMI is not. And HDMI ain't going nowhere anytime soon. The good news is that TB4 is really good, so hubs work great with it and can deliver 4k60 HDMI port no problem. This model also brings a pen. It works. Don't see myself using that much. Battery life. The 1080p model is rated for more, but its not as night and day as you would think. The 4k model can have HDR turned off, run in 1080p mode, and have the brightness turned down to match, and the battery life will basically be about the same. This model in 1080p, 30%, HDR off, and in battery saver mode, I can get 9-10 hours of internet browsing, YT videos, and office tasks. With a 10000mAh power pack weighing 8oz and is the size of a pack of playing cards and costs $15, I can get an additional 2.5-3 hours of runtime. Nobody actually needs more than that. Fit and finish. Superb. I thought the darker color would be a fingerprint magnet, and I was wrong. The palm rests and track pad are almost like a glass finish. Feels great, tracks great. Amazing. Keyboard is better than the Dell 13 this replaces. Only real compliant is the placement of the fingerprint sensor. I would have preferred it be near the delete key, but that's just me. Leather on top is a nice touch, and really sets this apart in a plastic world. Conclusion. Great machine, and I have owned many and used 100's. Not everyone will be willing to pay the extra coin for the better display, and that is fine. Its not for everyone, but it is worth it for me.

Good, but questionable quality control
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased an open box version of this laptop, so keep that in mind. I really enjoyed the speaker system on this laptop, it was easily the best speaker I've ever heard on any laptop in my life. The sleek leather and glass design was also very enticing. The key travel was not as good as you'd expect from Lenovo, but it was workable nevertheless. The screen quality was excellent as well, being a 4k screen. Although, 16:10 would be appreciated at this price point. I returned my product because it had an unbearable grinding fan noise. After googling this issue, it seems to be a common problem on this model. I would expect a $1,700 laptop that's already sacrificing some features to be sure to nail the quality control.

Where have you been all these years?
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The leather cover adds a level of class and warmth during a cold Wisconsin winter. The glass TouchPad and palm rest took two days to get used to. The finger print reader requires a bit more pressure than expected. Will try to reset and see if that fixes it. Having been a user of SurfacePro Touch Keyboards, this one is not too shallow. The screen has real good color, blacks are not too dark like an AMOLED gives. 500 nits is bright. If kept at 50%, I get 7-9 hours battery life. Not bad for an i7 and 4K screen. When set to battery sipping, I can squeeze out a bit more than nine hours. The pen is ok. A bit thin for long term use. I am not an artist, so, it is perfect form my needs. I would recommend this for anyone looking for something not in the usual all metal form factor.

High end laptop!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I came from an older X1 carbon, and find this to be an excellent upgrade. The build quality feels very solid, the fan is nice and quiet even under moderate load, and the display is beautiful. I've never heard such good sound quality from a laptop. I keep it around 40-50% volume level which is perfect. The trackpad does take some getting used to, but is fine once you've used it for a while. It would be nice if the fingerprint reader was easier to find - perhaps if they had a little raised lip around it then it would be easier/quicker to use. Overall, great laptop.

This model ships with an integrated Buttonless glass surface multi-touch touchpad, which supports Precision TouchPad (PTP) features. There is also a Touch Style Ultrasonic fingerprint reader integrated within the palm rest. Very Nice 2-in-1
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All in all this is a very nice laptop. The screen looks great and the touchscreen works smoothly. I wish the keyboard had more tactile action but it is OK. The trackpad works well but needs a way for you to feel with your fingers whether you are on it or not. It is easy to get off to the side because there is no way to feel where the trackpad ends. If you have very dry skin like I do in the winter don't expect the fingerprint reader to work. It couldn't even tell I was putting a finger on it. Thinking the unit was defective I took it back to Best Buy and showed the Geek Squad guy. He tried the fingerprint reader and it worked for him! I tried again with no luck. Then I thought about that oil on my nose (yuck). I rubbed my finger on the side of my nose and what do you know, the fingerprint reader started to work. So, the fingerprint reader works, just not for me. No big deal, I'll keep typing in my PIN. Lenovo really should use a better fingerprint reader.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Intel Evo-Certified, lenovo Yoga 9i 14, model number 82BG0001US. This configuration ships with a Touch Style Ultrasonic fingerprint reader on palm rest, with match-on-host security. Because the fingerprint reader uses sound waves to read your fingerprint, there is no need to wet your finger for better accuracy. Here's a tip for making your fingerprint reader work every time: Try lightly sliding your finger over the fingerprint reader area. No need to press hard on the reader, in fact pressing hard on the fingerprint reader will distort your fingerprint and cause read errors.

Elegant, Brilliant 4k Screen, Amazing Sound!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The display is absolutely fantastic. The specs are top of the line. The leather is very unique and classy looking. Sound is magnificent. You won't find better speakers on a laptop. Battery life is above average. Keep in mind that you won't get fantastic battery life because of the 4k screen but you can certainly get 5-7 hours on it depending on what you are doing. I have to knock a star off because it does tend to get a bit too hot for my liking.

Posted .This Intel Evo-Certified, lenovo Yoga 9i 14 model number 82BG0001US, ships with a Integrated 60Wh, lithium-Polymer Battery, which, within this model configuration has a battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. Under heavy workloads and/or while charging, this Yoga 9i 14 will feel warm to the touch, this is normal. You can use Lenovo Q-Control to manually control fan and system performance: ( Fn + Q ) option to change the fan by undervolting the processor. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Almost perfect, but lots of room to go
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop on the surface, performed well, and no issues with the overall performance however there were a few flaws. Pros: Fast CPU, though only 4 cores Cons: Battery life was inconsistent, from 1 hour to 4, but never more. Device had Limited options for RAM and was not expandable. Bluetooth would power save every 5 seconds causing my mouse to jump around. Glass touchpad and haptic feedback was not enjoyable. In quiet settings it was loud. Dragging things across the page or selecting text was a pain. Did not support Linux fingerprint reader was poor

BLACK DIAMOND
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this yesterday evening from my local Best Buy - and I was up & running with all my work stuff (heavy business usage) within a couple of hours of powering this beauty ON. Bought this specific laptop because of the 4k screen resolution (great for photography/ video), excellent processing power, incredible look and feel and the best price at Best Buy. Few specifics - Personally I'm liking the look of the Shadow Black lot more than the typical Silver/ Grey Outstanding screen, pleasing to eye for long working hours Love the seamless touchpad and fingerprint scanner design - the touchpad glides well, and the ultrasonic scanner is fast and accurate (need to press the finger fully on the scanner) Great keyboard feel Excellent camera for web meetings Superb sound quality, good built in mic Light weight, but feels sturdy enough Useful ports Overall this is a workhorse laptop at a reasonable price and absolute beauty!

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the Yoga 9i laptop. I’ve used this PC everyday 10+ hours for work over the past month. The build quality is second to none. I am very impressed by the 11th gen i7 processor. Comparing to the 920 & 940, this PC is definitely superior. The glass trackpad and leather lid are beautiful touches. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a high performance ultrabook. Not worth it
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the design, the display, and the keyboard. What I hate is the fan runs all the time and is noticeably loud. You definitely cannot use this laptop on your lap because it gets VERY hot with very minimal applications running. Then there is the trackpad.. there is no distinction of where it starts and ends so you have to look down at it before every use. Super annoying. I tried everything the Lenovo rep has been saying to do in these comments. All updates are installed and I make sure no extra apps run at startup or in the background. Using the Fn + Q function to change the processor from high power to eco mode does nothing to fix the fan and heat issues. Sadly, I will have to return. This is not worth the high price tag.

Excellent niche product
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Other than poor battery life as touch screen 4k monitor general, purpose light weight computer it works well. It suffers from the 16 x 9 format display , 16 x 10 would be far more comfortable to use . In tablet mode which was important to me it is not proving to be of much use . The 16 x9 ratio screen is proving far less suitable than expected . A 4 x 3 ratio screen would correct this . At least one more USB 3.0 port would be desirable if you intend to sometimes use a mouse . While not anticipated when I purchased this computer the lack of a wired Ethernet connector is a minor nuisance . I needed a very lightweight computer for use while lying on my back while recovering from health issues . it is very well suited for this . Keyboard is better than expected , The touchpad has a steep learning curve , seems to have difficultly with a least one specialty program I use While not cheap at the promotional price it is a good value . It is elegantly styled and I love the display
