I was excited for a new laptop, but so far upon getting use to it and its features, i opened note apps only for it to get stuck on touch pad mode I didn't do anything but open the app but it got stuck on touch pad mode so i closed the app and it was still stuck. Then the laptop kept shutting off, and everytime i turned it back on it turned off again, so confused all I did was open a note of app. Then when I finally got it to hold open after an hour it that issue I finally got into the settings to change the touch pad issue back to normal. Fast forward to 3 days use of this it kept randomly shutting off and on. Sometimes the batteries don't even hold long enough my surface pro 8 lasted me longer I'd use that 3 hours a day and only charge it after around 4-5 days on that same 3 hour usage. But this one has me charging it everytime I use it.

I love it! I've had it for a few months now and use it mostly for audio and word processing. It's fast, quiet, and especially convenient with its compact size and 87% keyboard. It has good battery life, and I was excited to see that the charger also works on my samsung S22 android phone as a super-charger. It charges it in a fraction of the time and even has a smaller lightning bolt next to the larger one and a special tone to alert to the faster charging. I don't use the tablet feature often, but when I do, I need to be sitting down with something to lean or lay it on due to the weight of the computer. It's not that I can't support the weight, but to try to do so while also trying to work or use the touch screen or stylus, which I love, by the way, is impractical. The weight is entirely understandable for such a powerful, compact laptop. Overall, I love it, and it exceeds my needs. It also comes with a protective sleeve. If I could change anything, it would have a docking port for the stylus. As it is, the stylus magnetically sticks to the exterior of the case where it charges wirelessly but can easily be knocked off without noticing. It also has a small rubber cap on the end that opens up to a wired charging port. When the laptop is in its sleeve, there's an elastic holder on the outside of the sleeve for the stylus. Putting it in and out of my laptop bag, I have already pulled the rubber piece completely off. I was able to reattach it, and it hasn't happened since being more mindful of the issue. Aside from the stylus placement issue, the Lenovo Yoga 9i is a compact, powerful system with vivid colors and speedy rendering. It's consistent with lenovo quality (I also have a lenovo desktop yoga.), and I am pleased with my purchase. The problem with the stylus is something that could be remedied by mimicking the design of other lenovo laptops. I'm not sure why they didn't, but I would only deduct a quarter of a star for that particular issue if that was an option.

I’m beyond impressed with the Lenovo Yoga 9i 2-in-1! The Cosmic Blue finish is absolutely stunning—sleek, modern, and premium-feeling right out of the box. The 2.8K OLED touchscreen is vibrant and sharp, making everything from watching movies to editing photos a visually rich experience. Performance-wise, the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H paired with 16GB of RAM handles multitasking effortlessly. Whether I’m running creative software, working remotely, or just browsing, everything is fast and smooth. The 1TB SSD provides plenty of storage and lightning-fast load times. The 2-in-1 flexibility is a huge plus. Tablet mode is great for reading or note-taking (the included pen works flawlessly), and tent mode is perfect for streaming or presentations. Battery life has also been solid, easily getting me through a full day of work. Best Buy’s delivery was spot-on. My laptop arrived on time, well-packaged, and in perfect condition. Setup was a breeze, and I was up and running in no time. Overall, the Yoga 9i is an outstanding premium laptop for professionals, students, or creatives who want power and versatility in a compact, beautiful package. Highly recommended!

The jury is still out on wheter or not I will be keeping this laptop. After trying a few other laptops unsucessfully for one reason or another, I decided it would be best to go back with lenovo as I had an older 9i for the last 4 years. I loved my older 9i with one caveout. Its extremly heavy. I am currently in grad school and need to take my laptop with me. My old 9i just was took heavy and the battery life just wasn't meeting my needs. I purchased this new 9i hoping that those issues would be resolved but sadly they haven't. While this version of the 9i is lighter than my old one, its still pretty heavy. Additionally, the battery life not connected to a power source is fair at best. Besides these two things the laptop is almost perfect. -Its beautiful -Nice key travel -best in class OLED display -Responsive haptic trackpad -responsive touch screen and more. I am keeping the laptop unless I can find a better option that suites my needs. I did not like the Yoga slim 7x trackpad (its awful), or it was a strong contender to the 9i.

      Hey YourFavNurse,

Thanks for choosing Lenovo again, and for sharing your feedback with us.

We'd like to work with you to help with improving system battery life. By default, the system will tend to give more speed when needed, which can sacrifice battery life. If you want to squeeze out more battery life, we recommend utilizing the Lenovo Vantage application that is preinstalled to adjust settings related to power and battery performance (to access relevant settings, open Vantage > Device Settings > Power). You can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both worlds.

I got the Lenovo Yoga Book to replace my Surface Go 2, and it has been a great upgrade so far. As a college student, I love the flexibility it offers — the Yoga mode and included pen make it easy to take handwritten notes in class. One minor issue is that the screen sometimes picks up your hand resting on it while writing, which can be a little annoying, but overall it works well. Performance has been impressive for such a lightweight device. I recently started using Vectorworks on it, and it runs basic tasks smoothly. I haven’t pushed it yet with very heavy 3D modeling, so I can't fully speak to how it handles more demanding projects, but so far it's handled what I need without any issues. The OLED screen is another highlight — the display is vibrant, sharp, and makes everything from schoolwork to streaming look fantastic. Battery life is excellent too. With moderate use (like coursework, emails, and web browsing), I can easily go several days without needing to recharge. Overall, the Lenovo Yoga Book has been reliable, powerful, and perfect for both school and creative work. I would definitely recommend it to students, artists, or anyone who needs a portable yet capable laptop.

The stunning OLED display is crisp, vibrant, and incredibly responsive to touch—perfect for creative work, streaming, or productivity. The laptop is a delight to use in all modes: laptop, tablet, tent, and presentation. It feels premium but is surprisingly light and portable. Performance-wise, it’s snappy and smooth even under heavy workloads. Battery life is impressive for such a bright screen and powerful internals. The Yoga 9i is a solid choice for a PC. The display and speakers are great. Of course, being touch the screen can have a bit of glare but it's generally bright enough and high-res. The fan turns on quite frequently but the machine doesn't run hot at all. I don't love the keyboard layout because the custom keys are on the far right edge where I would expect the enter/backspace key to be, so they're quite often pressed by mistake. The laptop exterior is pretty solid and better quality than other Yogas I've held/tested. Battery life is pretty average. I like that it comes with Lenovo software that helps to conserve battery life. Beware the open boxes, though. I purchased mine in excellent condition but it didn't come with essential accessories like the CHARGER and the slim pen. Not all Lenovo pens will work! Best Buy and Geek Squad were unable to help me replace them even though they were guaranteed, so I had to get them myself.

Not Sure Why I Expected Better

We used this device a little over a month before reviewing. To be fair the hardware of the Lenovo Yoga 9i is exceptionally good and it's weight/portability is very manageable. The screen is vibrant, the processing speed is also very good for our needs. However, the battery life drags the experience down quite a bit. If I had paid the MSRP, I would have returned within a week. For the price I did pay, I got a very good laptop with a ho-hum battery. I suppose I expected more from Lenovo/Intel/Microsoft regarding battery optimization/utilization. Coming from an older ARM device with literally all day performace, I wouldn't ask for the 9i to match, however, I wanted it to, at the very least, be competitive.

Hi OhMeOhMy, thanks for choosing Lenovo! Regarding your issue with battery life – there are many variables that contribute to shorter battery life. Thankfully, many of those variables can be adjusted. By default, the system will tend to give more speed when needed, especially with the high-powered H series Ultra 7 processor, which can sacrifice battery life. If you want to squeeze out more battery life, we recommend users utilize the Lenovo Vantage application that is preinstalled to adjust settings related to power and battery performance (to access relevant settings, open Vantage > Device Settings > Power). Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both worlds. I bought this to replace a 7+ year old Yoga c930. In some ways they've gone forward but have regressed in others. Pros: -great panel (just be aware of the caveats with OLED displays before purchasing) -the design looks nice and the rounded corners are a nice touch. With the c930 you could almost peel a carrot on the edges. -the keyboard--keys have a "cupped" design which helps to type faster without skipping characters. -The processor is good and the integrated graphics are a significant step up from Iris on the previous gen. -it has a fingerprint reader for those who don't want their webcam open 24/7 -camera shutter for IR camera. Cons: -The build quality on the back of the display is concerning. It has too much flex for a 1k+ device. Between that an OLED burn in, I'd be worried about it lasting have as long as my old C930. -battery life is all over the place. It if you're browsing it should be fine, but when the processor boosts up or the monitor displays whites, it gets dicey. Windows auto brightness is still buggy, so relying on that isn't really an option. -Lenovo's bloatware is only good for streamlining driver install. Everything else is redundant. Aside from durability, the main (related) reason I'm returning this is because Lenovo's "support" is terrible. Let me emphasize this. They are awful. You'll be going through several support agents just to get a semi straight answer if you're lucky. They just repeat the same mantras and claim to "escalate" your case which literally does nothing. Do not buy Lenovo if you think there is a chance you might need to use their support. It is non-existent. This wasn't the case 7 years ago, but here we are now. It's a shame because they used to be a good alternative to Dell and Asus. I just can't recommend them anymore.

There are several things I really love about this laptop and I have been researching and trying several others before I landed here. I wanted the Zenbook to work for me but no matter what I did it kept crashing during very light gaming like age of empires 3 DE. I wanted something that was fast, Lightweight had decent battery life but also had a brilliant screen and that looked and felt good too. I tried the HP Spectre, but it just seemed so much heavier even though it’s within .3 pounds. I don’t utilize the two in one screen as I have an iPad Pro and an iPad mini six if I need a tablet, but I guess it doesn’t hurt anything having that capability. I’ve had zero issues with gaming and the 16 GB is sufficient enough for me as if I want to do heavy gaming I have an omen desktop with a 4090. I’ve also looked at the Dell XPS series thoroughly, but that doesn’t seem to have near the battery life I would like. I am typically pretty close to a charger anyway throughout the house, but I don’t want to be checking the battery when I am just browsing the web on the couch and see it go down 10 to 15% every 20 minutes. Ultimately this device does exactly what I need and works perfect for me and I love the look feel weight and everything else about it.

    Great but with flaws

This is one of the best looking laptop I’ve seen from Lenovo. I absolutely love the design of the hinge, and the cosmic blue color way. The amazing OLED panel is fantastic for watching movies, plus that buttery smooth 120hz refresh rate makes this a very worthwhile purchase. However, there are some flaws that must be discussed before I can say this is a perfect laptop. 1/ Laggy input: for some odd reason this laptop is quite laggy, even for content consumption. The scrolling lags a lot, which makes the laptop less smooth even with that 120hz refresh rate. This is noticeable even when plugged in, so do expect this when you use the laptop. 2/ Battery life: even with intel telling you you’re getting great battery life, do keep in mind that this is running an Ultra 7 series 1 processor which is not that well-optimized for lower power consumption. This means you should not expect a full day or even half day of battery on this laptop. Brings your charger around with you. 3/ No gpu: this is running an egpu, therefore if you are using a program that needs a dedicated GPU (my case: Solidworks). Do expect it to crash midway, sometimes not even work. This is design for office work, for people who do similar things to that; this is not for gamers, or engineers to use for CADing. Overall, I recommend this laptop to anyone who wants a premium laptop with a beautiful display, great sound quality without caring too much on the GPU. If you do a lot of heavy tasks that require a GPU, the lenovo yoga pro 9i is what you should be looking at.

Decent buy ONLY if you can find it on sale

I've had this laptop going on two months at this point and have been using it as my daily Windows computing device. It's a mixed bag overall. If you can pick it up on sale for $1,149.99, it's a decent buy - but certainly not at full price, look for other options if you're going to spend that much (for this reason alone, I'm choosing "no" in terms of recommending). My assumption is this model will be discontinued soon since the Intel Ultra Series 2 systems are now out. Pros: - The OLED display is fantastic, it's capable of 120Hz which is a big plus (NOTE: the display does not support dynamic refresh rate, it must be changed manually in Windows display settings) - The keyboard has a good amount of travel and good feedback - The chassis is thin and light - weighing just slightly more than a MacBook Air but with a bigger, much higher quality screen - Port selection is good considering the thin chassis - it has USB-C ports on both sides for greater flexibility - Wi-Fi 6E 6Ghz performance is very good - The Lenovo soundbar hinge is above average (though it still doesn't come close my MacBook Pro M3 Pro, but so far, no other laptop I've used does) - Windows Hello facial recognition is spot on - 2 in 1 design is useful should the mood strike Average: - Performance is sometimes noticeably slow when running on battery (launching apps sometimes takes much longer than expected for example - to the point you wonder if you didn't actually launch the app) - The touchpad is large and serviceable, but not the most responsive I've used (again, it can't beat the MacBook Pro) - The laptop doesn't always immediately recognize my Dell Thunderbolt 4 display. It generally works, but I sometimes have to unplug/re-plug a couple times for it to pick it up (I have multiple other systems that have no issue in this regard) - The Lenovo Vantage app has a few useful bits (installing BIOS and software updates for example), but it's largely bloatware. By default, it runs 15 scheduled tasks in the background, which is unnecessary - Presence detection generally works well, but it occasionally fails to wake/detect/login via facial recognition - The included pen works, but it's basic and not comfortable in hand Cons: - The fan kicks on frequently while browsing and performing low demand tasks on battery. When plugged in using the Balanced Power Mode, the fan runs constantly. To me, this indicates the Intel Core Ultra 7 is constrained in the thin and light chassis - To get passable battery life of 8 to 9 hours, Windows power settings must be set to "Best Power Efficiency" - The laptop is a fingerprint magnet - true for both the exterior and the palm rest One glaring issue I ran into: there is no provision in the BIOS to clear fingerprint reader registrations. I initially registered one fingerprint when I first purchased using the factory installed OS. Through my testing, I installed and re-installed several preview versions of Windows 11 24H2. Upon the first clean OS install, I discovered I couldn't register the same fingerprint I initially registered, but could register other fingerprints. I checked the BIOS and there is no specific option to clear fingerprint registrations. Clearing the TPM from within Windows and from within the BIOS didn't work either. I then submitted a ticket with Lenovo Support - their response was to return the laptop and the case was immediately closed. This is not a solution at all and I was one day past the return period at that point. Thankfully Windows Hello facial recognition works well, so it's not the end of the world, but definitely keep this in mind if you plan to test OS pre-release versions. I realize this won't affect all users, but it's something to keep in mind if you ever need to perform a clean OS install in the future. Conclusion: Again, it's a decent buy if you can find it on sale. Beware of the quirks and limitations described above.

The battery drain is very prominent. I had the system ON while I was working on my work laptop. Absolutely nothing playing or running (not on performance mode too) to see how much battery I will get. Trust me, in 3hrs I saw the battery go down 60% while doing nothing. I thought the spec is good enough to see some decent speed while opening and closing apps but my 7 year old hp Spectre x360 performs almost at the same level. The extra set of buttons on the right extreme does get annoying a lot as you will keep hitting the fingerprint button instead of the arrow keys. If you are a slow typer who looks at the keyboard for every stroke, this laptop should be fine. A huge fingerprint magnet! Not just the outer body, but also on the track pad. Check the stylus. It's the new slim pen. There are some drivers and apps that you need to install to make it work. Does not start working out of the box. At least mine did not. Build quality is good compared to Asus. Not flimsy. But with the Intel Ultra 7 processor, I was expecting something better. Total disappointment.

I like the sleek look of the laptop. Light and quick and can handle stuff I run. I am a Industrial and Systems engineering student for reference. The only thing I would dislike about this laptop is it's stability when it comes to taking notes on it with the keyboard flat on a surface and the screen up.

Great laptop, simple, clean, keys are great, screen is beautiful, i go pretty hard with tabs and it handles it well. Battery life is pretty awesome too! i almost forget its a laptop and not plugges in until a full day of using it. Click on touchpad does like to act up every once in a while, and has a tiny lag for flipping from 2 in 1 mode, but its RAM always keeps my tabs ready to open back up even if i have to restart it.

I love many things about this laptop. My only complaint is the battery life. It will only last me through my 8-hour workday if it is on best power efficiency mode. I love that it is lightweight, that the screen gets as dim as I like it to, that the camera has a slide cover, and that there is a USB-A as well as USB-C ports on both sides. The fingerprint unlock is unreliable and the column of keys on the right side are more of a nuisance than they are useful. Ultimately I liked the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x Copilot+ PC better, but I needed something without generative AI due to my line of work.

      Hey Hayley,

Thank you for choosing Lenovo and for sharing your feedback with us!

Regarding your note on battery life, by default the system will tend to give more speed when needed, which can sacrifice battery life.

We are glad to hear that your experience with your Yoga 9i has been good otherwise.
