I've been looking through different Chrome Books trying to find a replacement for my old chrome book as it is over 3 years old and won't get some of the new features that I want out of the Chrome OS. With this said, I read many reviews before taking the chance on this particular Chrome Book. The initial review that sparked my interest is how the review compared this Pixel Book which is a high comparison given Google's dedication to the platform shown in that system. I have not owned a Pixel Book, but have read many reviews on it. With this said, let's go into the review: 1) Look and Feel: Compared to the Chrome Books I have owned in the past and many I have seen, I love the premium feel of it. It has a great smooth alloy feel to the outside. It has that industrial look that I love and not the cheaper feel of the plastic used on some of the Chrome Books. I have had it for over a week and opened it in various positions and tested the different modes. In each of the Yoga positions, the device looks wonderful. It switches positions with an ease I expect, but is sturdier in each position than I originally anticipated given it's weight. It is much lighter than my old Chrome Book. I have had no issues with any defects on the device. 2) Screen/Touch: The touch screen has been very responsive in all of the tests. This includes on Linux Apps, Android Apps, and Chrome Apps. The screen is much larger than my previous chrome book and is beautiful. The resolution of this device is amazing. You can definately tell it is a high definition screen and the crispness of it impresses me. I saw on a review earlier a complaint about being able to see pixels on browsing. I've used both the native Chrome and Android web Apps like Firefox Focus and have no idea what they were complaining about. The only issue I can see is that some of the Android Apps do not full screen well which is a known issue on any Chrome Book. Other than that, resolution makes the text a bit small at times, but it is typical of HD screens at this resolution. I've used the magnify feature on Chrome to help with this on some pages and the crispness has been great. 3) Performance: I have opened Linux Apps, Android Apps, and Chrome Apps simultaneously and the experience has been smooth. Minus the expected time to load multiple apps at the same time, it all runs quickly and is very responsive. There is no unexpected delays in it's performance 4) Battery Life: When you run the laptop continuously with apps running from all 3 platforms it will drain the battery quicker, but this should be expected. I've drained the battery in this device multiple times and the running time has been 8+ hours on each attempt with me multi-tasking. The charging for this device is a USB C plug which is very convenient as it is also the same as the LG V20 phone I have. 5) Wifi Connectivity: Some of the devices I have owned over time has struggled in this component. I was not expecting LTE (and it's not included) so I won't make any comments on that. I didn't buy this for LTE. The Wifi was able to quickly pick up both on the 2G and the 5G bands of common wifi systems. The signal strength has been excellent no matter where I have been in relation. It has exceeded my expectations in this category. For example, in my bedroom which is at the opposite side of the house from my Wifi Router normally gets about 2 bars for my other wifi enabled devices including my phone and other Android/Google devices. The Wifi Modem in this device allows it to be "strong" even in there. Overall: To get a good feel of any device, it is always recommended to spend more than 30 minutes with it especially if you want to know the ins and outs of something. Having taken a week of use with me using it as my primary computing device and trying to find faults, this device is one that I think will exceed your expectations of what a Chrome Book will be if you have been using others Chrome Books other than the Pixel Book. Will this device be able to compete against the Pixel Book? Short answer. Yes. For me, it was between this 2 in 1 and the Pixel book. The price comparison gives this one the edge and given how much I love this Chrome Book, it is hard for me to justify the extra money on what might be. It does what I want, what I might want to do, and what I need to do. Lenovo has done well making this device and impressed me. I am happy to say that I have found my new Chrome Book for years to come. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a performance computer at a fair value. Will it kill the Pixel Book? No. But why should it? It competes nicely and for that I am glad. Keep up the good work Lenovo!

The Lenovo Yoga Convertible Chromebook is elegantly designed to function as either a powerful laptop or tablet. It has the system memory, feature set, and processing power to handle my daily productivity and entertainment needs with ease. --Setup-- Was as simple as charging it for a short time and turning it on. I was then prompted to sign on to my Wi-Fi network and then Google. I already have a Google account, so my saved settings synced right up, and I was up and running immediately. Included is a 45-watt power brick that attaches to a USB C charging cord. Because USB C is becoming widespread I don’t have to bring the power brick with me on the go and can instead charge it with the same power adapter that I use for my phone, wireless earbuds, and Bluetooth speaker. Using a phone or tablet power adapter will charge slower but is a useful trade off for the added versatility. --Design and Features— There are four different modes: Notebook, Stand, Tent, and Tablet. I found the Stand, Tent, and Tablet orientations to be especially useful for watching videos and using Apps. The display orientation automatically adjusts when the laptop is transformed to a different mode. Lenovo cleverly placed one USB C port on both the right and left side. Both can take a charge, so the charging side can be adapted to the side has an available power outlet. The battery charges fully in a few hours and lasts the rated 10 hours. The flash hard drive greatly improves the system speed. If you have never used one before you will immediately notice the improvement as opposed to a solid state hard drive. The screen is 1080P HD capable. The color, contrast, and sharpness are superb. Exactly what I would expect at this price point. The touch screen is responsive and works well. Above the numbers keys are a row of dedicated shortcut keys. They are: Back, Forward, Reload, Full Screen, Switch, Brightness Up/Down, Mute, Volume Down/Down, Lock, and Search. The dual band wireless adapter worked flawlessly and was able to provide a very strong connection. --Build Quality and Appearance— The build quality is impressive. The aluminum chassis makes it thin, light, and easy to handle. The color (midnight blue) is a very attractive blue/gray hue. --Verdict— Equipped with processing power and system memory that far exceed the minimum requirements for the Chrome Operating System, this hybrid laptop/tablet is an excellent choice for the user that wants premium performance, capability, and features.

I’ve been a steady macOS user for many years now. My main computer has been the 2016 MacBook Pro for the past couple of years now and while I end up using a Windows machine at work and sometimes a Windows machine at home for various tasks, macOS is my standard operating system of choice. With that said, I do enjoy learning other systems and exploring what different operating systems have to offer. I’ve been most intrigued with Chromebooks since that system makes you operate almost entirely ‘in the cloud’. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to use a Lenovo Yoga laptop and so when the option to try out the Lenovo C630 Chromebook, I jumped at it. Lenovo makes a solid machine and I was eager to test it out. STYLE: The laptop feels awesome. The keyboard is responsive and the body of the computer is substantial. The laptop does have a bit of weight to it, but it looks sleek and it is still quite portable. PERFORMANCE: I will typically run a benchmarking software with a new system, but because the Chromebook is web-based, I was unable to install anything to check any benchmarking scores. I did end up finding an online option for benchmarking called Octane. There was a note on the website that mentioned that Octane had been discontinued and even though I was able to get a score from it, I’m not sure how accurate the score is or where it makes the system stand up against other laptops. I ran several apps and used the cloud-based apps (Google Docs, etc.) for several hours and found that the Chromebook was blazing fast. The system was very responsive and didn’t hesitate to do anything I asked it to do. BATTERY LIFE: I have been very happy with the battery’s performance. While I haven’t used the laptop for 10 hours straight yet, I have used it for several hours at a time and found that power wasn’t a problem. TOUCHSCREEN: While I really enjoy having the touchscreen as an option, it is not very practical for tasks other than scrolling and drawing. It is quite responsive, and I would even liken it to an iPad’s touch screen, but typing on it just isn’t very practical. Overall, the Lenovo Yoga C630 is a very capable laptop. I really love how the ChromeOS makes you rethink how your workflow is structured. I love utilizing cloud services and a Chromebook definitely makes you rethink that.

What's in the box ----------------- Lenovo Yoga C630 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Chromebook - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 128GB eMMC Flash Memory Power adapter Ports ----- 2 x USB-C USB 3.0 MicroSD slot Headphone/mic combo Pros ---- 1. Its very well built all aluminum design. Its is slightly heavier than the 15 inch macbook pro 2. Gorgeous Full HD screen with almost edge less display 3. Excellent Battery life 4. Very fast, its my first time with chrome OS, the combination of the OS with SSD makes this blazing fast. 5. Google Play apps. Cons ----- 1. No back lit keyboard 2. Need more USB ports. 3. No HDMI port. The Review ---------- This is my first time using chrome OS/Chromebook and i have to admit that i have been pleased. I was not sure why the earlier versions of the laptops that came out with this OS were really cheaply made. I think that Chrome is a good operating system and the stigma associated with the OS that its a brick offline is no longer true. I can use my google docs, play movies, songs etc all offline and once i connect online, the data syncs up with the cloud. I also get 100GB of free cloud for 2 years with this laptop. Setup - It was very straight forward as it is on an android phone, everything ties to your email and you setup the machine using your email address. Installing apps from play store works the same way as your phone. Usage - The laptop is very well built and it can be used as a regular laptop or a tablet as it is touch screen. it also can be used in tent mode for watching movies. Track pad and the keyboard quality is comparable to my Dell Inspiron and i think it will last long. The Intel i5 along with the chrome OS with 8GB of RAM really makes it powerful. I can run multiple tabs on chrome running different applications and it performs very well without any lag. My son loves talking tom run and installed it for him. The performance on the game was very smooth. I am pleased. The battery life is very good, much better than the dell inspiron 7000 that i currently also own. i was able to get 8 hours out of the battery. Charging is through a type C port and there are one on either side. I could use my phone charger to charge it so its very convenient. I wish there were more USB ports on this as laptop thankfully there is a micro sd slot and you can buy a 256gb micro sd card and increase the hard drive just in case you run out of cloud space. Finally, i think lenovo came out with a very usable, sturdy and worthy chromebook. i will recommend it!

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo C630 Chromebook. With regard to more USB ports for this device, you may want to consider using a USB Hub with this device. The USB-c port on this configuration carries a video out signal. You can use a USB-c to HDMI adapter to connect an external HDMI monitor. Lenovo

The Lenovo - Yoga C630 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Chromebook - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 128GB eMMC Flash Memory - Midnight Blue offers amazing power, usability, productivity, and accessibility all without being bogged down by a painful window-based OS. This Google OS Chromebook is fast and responsive, yet versatile enough to take on most of your computing needs. PERSONAL INSIGHTS I have always been reluctant to engage the Chromebook or Google OS due to so many applications and software being exclusively available on a MS OS. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall performance and accessability with this Yoga and how quick and responsive it was when I first turned it on. Complete 180 from the MS computer bog down that is typical for these systems. I liked the versitility of the Yoga having a laptop mode, tablet mode, and a hybrid as a tent display. The touch screen is easy to use and responsive, yet fingerprints will likely be a running issue. It is of solid construction, metal, compared to many competing devices which are primarily made of plastic and cheap feeling. PROS - Solid construction and design - Fast, Responsive OS - Google Play apps abound and most are free to use - Versitile designs allow for multiple uses - Lenovo name and quality - Huge 15.6" display with minimal bezel - Intel Core i5 is more than sufficient to power everything you can throw at it - 8GB RAM is fast and responsive - 128GB Flash memory is nearly instantaneous when accessing information stored on your Yoga - Micro SD slot lets to instantly expand your onboard storage - Cloud storage makes this devise torage limited only by your choice CONS - I am not a fan of the UBS-C type power cord and plug. I can foresee this being a problem and breaking with heavy usage. - Price seems a bit high for a Chromebook OVERALL An excellent device with tons of upward potential and long-term useage.

To provide a little context, I am a MacBook Pro user for my main workstation, and I have purchased this chromebook for a secondary laptop for going to the Cafe, doing light work. I was looking for good performance, screen, and battery life. This laptop sure does deliver. The body is a solid piece of aluminum and honestly feels about the same as a MacBook Pro 15 for 4X less (Very impressive). i5, 8GB of ram combined with the light Chrome OS just absolutely blazes, this thing is an absolute beast in performance, feels as fast as a quad core i7 windows laptop due to it running chrome. Trackpad is super accurate not sticky. The keyboard is tactile with great feedback, not mushy and actually feels better than my 2018 MacBook Pro. It is not backlit but really not a big deal considering everything else this has it is worth the trade off. Speakers are okay not facing upwards. Color is not flashy but it has a nice finish. Weight is just over 4 pounds so not the heaviest thing, but not your ultra portable. This is about standard 15 inch weight. The display is great, not the brightest ever, but still very good and 1080 is enough for a laptop like this. Not everything is perfect though and the cons are this; not class leading chromebook battery life (this is due to the processor being much faster than most, therefore requiring more power) the body attracts a ton of finger oil and you will notice it from the first day you start using it. Some android apps are not properly optimized (but this goes for all chromebook) All in all, this is the best chromebook you can get if you want power, premium, and good design. Nothing even comes close in performance. Skip the Acer Spin 15, Dell inspiron 14 had both and both don't even come close to the Yoga overall. Good luck deciding hope this helped!

The Lenovo Yoga C630 2-in-1 is a really nice piece of productivity/entertainment equipment. It arrived packaged nicely (although I have seen nicer). Inside the box you'll find the laptop, charging cable, and some basic instructions. I'm typically a Windows guy so I was excited at the opportunity to try out an Chrome OS. While it takes a little getting used to, I found everything to be pretty easy to learn even for someone who's spent 20+ years in Windows + another 10+ years in apple based OS. So, most of you reading this should have no problem. The Yoga had excellent performance. Start-up was a quick and silent thanks to the SSD. Powered by Intel's latest (8th generation) i5 processor, the Yoga handled multiple apps open at the same time combined with web browsing, video, and some spreadsheet usage. The Yoga comes with 8GB of system RAM which is plenty for what most will use this system for. If 128GB isn't enough storage for you, the good news is that the Yoga's memory is expandable via a micro SD card. Is it going to be your go-to for CAD or power gaming? No. But it WILL exceed the needs for most users daily productivity and entertainment based tasks. To be clear, it is far more than just a tablet and shouldn't be confused with one even though it can fill that role if needed (hence the 2-in-1). Although this particular Yogo is 15.6" of FHD goodness, I found the design to be quite sleek and of particularly high quality. The aluminum frame gives it some weight (it's not feather light, but it's not a brick either). If you don't need the full 15.6, they do have a smaller version available. In conclusion, I am really enjoying using the Lenovo Yoga Chromebook. As my first venture into using the Chrome OS, I can say it has exceeded my expectations. Most applications are now web-based anyway, so the idea of holding onto my start menu is slowly being worn away. This system satisfies almost all of my needs for productivity and entertainment and for a really great price. Pros: *Design/quality build *Expandable memory *Beautiful FHD display *Battery life 9+ hours based on my testing, but rated for 10+ Cons: *No backlit keyboard *Speakers are down firing and of very average quality. Of course, one shouldn't really expect much from laptop speakers in my opinion.

This is my first foray from Windows into the ChromeOS world and I'm loving it. The C630 has a giant, crisp monitor that's a pleasure to use for both reading and watching videos. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could install most of the same apps I use on my Android phone. The C630 has plenty of SSD drive space and the processor makes everything run buttery smooth. It's large enough that I probably won't carry it around too much, but the battery life should be fantastic (spec says 25 hours). I'm pretty much leaving it parked in our breakfast nook area so it's plugged in most of the time. The only very minor issues I have with it involve the keyboard. I really wish it had a backlit keyboard. Even a $20 bluetooth keyboard I got to use with my phone a year ago had a backlit keyboard. The other issue is the keys are so flat it's sometimes hard to tell when you get your fingers in the correct home position. But these are really minor issues and I still think it's a fantastic Chromebook. The only other things that have given me pause are related to the ChromeOS so I can't blame the C630 for it. One is the lack of a delete key. There seems to be some religious discussion on both sides of the issue in the forums about that. The other is the wallpaper/desktop area seems to be wasted. You can't put any shortcuts to apps or URLs on it. On the other hand, this might be a good thing as my wife tends to completely fill up the Windows desktop with icons. If only this feature could be implemented in our home to prevent clutter on the counter tops, too! Overall, I'm very happy with the C630 and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for someone looking for a Chromebook with a nice, big screen.

Was a little skeptical about a Lenovo machine, remembering way back when they were IBM ThinkPads. (Yes, I'm that old!!) Back then, they were heavyweight and slow. Great for bouncing around and capable, but not standouts. That said, this Yoga Chromebook is an outstanding machine. Large, crystal clear screen, fast processor, convertible machine that does everything and more. Because it is a ChromeBook, access to the Google Play Store for apps is a given and everything loads quickly and runs like a champ. Open the lid, which can be flipped to make this into a more than adequate touchscreen tablet, and by the time your eyes adjust to the brilliant screen (If it's not 4K, it's close!) you are up and running. Connection to wireless network(s) is painless and quick. I was a little leery about using it in tablet mode, but, except for the weight, it works very well. Touchscreen in any mode is a nice addition. Surprisingly, even closed, this machine looks good. Matte black finish with the YOGA logo just a hair darker looks sleek and stylish. Weight overall is a bit much for carrying around all day, but for home use, or to carry in a backpack or satchel, it is quite comfortable. Unless you REALLY need the big OS from MS or Apple, and who does anymore, or a large fixed drive, this machine will take care of most peoples needs and wants. May be a bit pricey for some, but for the 15.6" hi-def screen, Intel Core i5 processor and convertible aspect, it is well worth it. Wish I could have gotten more of these to hand out as gifts to family and friends!!

I don't normally do reviews, but after seeing the first review posted, I feel obligated to respond. I also have a Pixelbook, and this Chromebook (and a Chromebook Plus). This device is well built. Mine was new out of the box, had no visible defects, and everything is working as expected. The screen is great, though if you really want tiny pixels, a 4K version of this Chromebook is available. I have no problems with this screen, either close-up, or watching videos from a distance (the viewing angle is very good). I run Chrome OS / Web apps, Play store apps, and Linux apps, all side-by-side. They all run well, even when running them all at once. This thing is snappy and performs extremely well. I use the smaller devices when I'm mobile and use this one mostly at home, where it works very well. I have no issues with the touch screen, either, it works fine, as does the touchpad. This price-point isn't for the casual browser user, but if you want to get all you can out of a Chromebook, this is an excellent choice.

This is the first Chromebook I have ever owned, but I have owned other laptops. I really like how you can navigate through the laptop the same way you would on your phone even on laptop mode. It makes it easier for newcomers who are not tech savvy and have never owned a computer or tablet, to navigate the laptop easily. I didn't really like that the administrator email address cannot be changed without restoring the whole thing, but that is still not a huge deal. Luckily it was done on the same day that I received it and not months later. There should be a better way of changing that information though. It was very easy to navigate and set up. I did not have any problems connecting to my internet and setting up the laptop. It was actually pretty quick to set up and easy to have it up and running. It runs smoothly over wifi and I have not had any problems with wifi connection or issues with it running slow. The keyboard is smooth and easy to type on. I really like how easily the laptop opens up all the way into a tablet. The touchscreen is perfect, but beware of smudges. Like a phone, it gets smudges very easily. I would def recommend this laptop.

I propped the lid open and seconds later the unit was done booting. After entering my email address and password I was ready to get to work ( or play). The 4.1 Bluetooth paired easily with my powered speakers and a few other devices. The built in WiFI linked up quickly too. Bright super high definition large screen with 10-point touch screen for gestures when used as a touch pad. Can be flipped into a tent for sitting on the table, great when viewing videos or photos or presentations. Nice sounding speakers are on the bottom just under the wrist rest. One wish, allow for use with a fine point Bamboo or equivalent pen input. Otherwise the touch screen works great. Okay two, backlight the keyboard on future products when the power cord is inserted and charging. Cool SUB-C power input for charging is the future data charging port. Comes with a USB 3 and a USB C port and micro sim for downloading photos extra storage. Great midnight blue colored case is super thin and lightweight. Battery lasted all day. OS self updates weekly so virus protection is also updated. Runs most android apps, and works great with my pixel phone.

Some will say it's overpowered for a Chromebook - I disagree! Since Chrome now has the ability to run full-blown Linux applications (which this one does), those applications can take full advantage of the 8GB of RAM that this one includes as well as the speedy Intel Core i5 CPU. The display on this Chromebook is a 15.6" 1920x1080 panel and cranked all the way up is wicked bright! Exceptionally crisp and has great viewing angles! Where it lacks though (not real complaints, just nitpicking!) is sound volume. The speaker is downward firing, so if you have the Chromebook on the bed or other non-flat surface, the sound will completely muffled out. Even with it in your lap the volume is weak. It would also benefit greatly from a backlit keyboard. The dark finish actually looks really nice, but it's a fingerprint magnet. Overall though this is a great Chromebook and I look forward to using it daily!

At first I was reluctant to consider a chromebook vs Mac or Windows machine, but when I heard chrome 69 would run Linux programs, I went with this Lenovo. Great choice. Have all my favorite Android apps, never available on Windows. Downloaded Linux free software including Gnome, Libre office, Pixlr. Machine easily interfaces to both Amazon echo or Google home. Boots in 5 seconds. No problems and rapid performance with Citrix receiver for my work. Nice connectivity with two usb-c and one usb-a 3.0. Thus can charge, have second monitor and have a usb connected printer all at same time. I move from three to four work locations, have 27 inch monitors and bluetooth logitech mouse-keyboards so can use full size equipment in the office with convenience of picking up the laptop and going out quickly. Simple to backup anything on Google drive.

I have been an avid user of Lenovo Think pads for the past nearly 20 years. In recent years I have considered moving away from Windows at home and not a fan of Macs. When I saw this show up in my news feed I thought it just sounds too good to be true. For me I only need a few "programs" and so far have found an app to comfortably replace everything I used before. I added a j5create extender to give me more ports (USB, Ethernet, etc.)and a wireless mouse and I am good to go. So I have been using for about a week now and I could not be happier. As for the life expectancy question, only time will tell but the Think Pad I replaced with this has been used every day at home for over 12 years, so, being that I am a total Lenovo fan-girl, I am optimistic.

    Best Chromebook So Far!

I can't say enough good things about this machine! I bought it for traveling and general office duties so I could get a few more years out of my 15" Macbook Pro for creative work. Bought this instead of a new 13" Macbook (because most of my office work is now cloud based, not Mac-centric) and it's awesome! Only thing that could possibly make this better would be back-lit keys. Of all the Chromebooks and other touch-based Android devices I've owned, this one is definitely the best. NOTE: This is the only Yoga tablet that cannot make use of all the cool Lenovo active stylus options. That might be the only other option that would make it better.) Maybe the $1000+ Chromebook options are all that I wished for, but if I was going to spend that much money, I would've stay in MacLand.

First off I must say this chromebook is a bit on the heavy side. 1. This is made very well and fast 2. The core i5 processor makes easy work for anything you can use it for with keeping in mind this is a chromebook. 3. Watching YouTube and any streaming service is a breeze. I have Netflix, Hulu, Amazon video, Google play. I was able to test them. All as working fine. Now to the next points Everything is chrome browser based but you can download most apps to the device to run on the desktop if you can it that. It has an app draw but have not figured out how to make it an icon. The screen is bright and colors are really nice. Very minimal added bloatware. Most normal Google services so no added from lenovo. WiFi is really strong with no issue connecting the same with the Bluetooth connection. Can also connect 2 at once. If you need a streaming device this could be near the top apart from the price it would be top of the list.

I own capable Windows laptops with plenty of RAM and solid state drives. I also own a macbook pro with high end specs. This is by far the item that I use the most. It takes under 7 seconds to boot up, it has great build quality and is ultra fast. I can get my work email on it, and it can perform most tasks that I require. No you will not be able to load certain types of software. It will not run the latest version of SolidWorks, but for everything else, day to day use, it is perfect. I purchased mine when they went on sale at Best Buy. I think that all in it was under $600. For the price point this is just an incredible value.

Im familiar with Lenovo products and have owned a few of them... This is an exception laptop/tablet hybrid with the quality and speed I've come to expect from Lenovo. Processor is super quick, loved it! Love the aluminum instead of plastic on this, really adds premium feel and look. HD screen is clear and crisp, battery life is great, especially for a 15.6" laptop. I like that there is a charging port on BOTH sides of the computer... its little, but it makes a difference, and I love it. Overall, I really like this... its become my go-to in my house. Fires up quick, maintains battery life, its there when I need it!

Its a great PC no anti-virus needed either. This thing is fast in every way, It beats my Dell PC which has the same i5 8gb memory and 128g memory . Wish they had a Dell version but they have the lesser ones instead. But this does the job well using Google's software, if you have Google products and have a Google account it takes just seconds to get connected to this PC which was great. I would recommend this one to anyone looking for a great Chromebook.
