I pick up the computer hoping it would help me with with daily task like heavy Excel usage, working through VPN, Hyperion, etc.
It just didn't work, it can do light work, but cannot handle intensive task.
I would recommend the laptop for beginners or college students.
- I returned it and pick up the Lenovo Yoga C930, I have great hopes for that one.

Pros
. Lightweight
. Ultra thin
. 2 ultra-fast USB-C ports
. Premium Look
. Very good performance
. Impressive Battery Life
Cons
. Pen not included.
. USB-C-only ports limits use of legacy devices.
. Default S mode limits apps. This can be changed but it affects performance.
The first thing to like about the Leno Yoga C630 laptop is its look. It is beautiful and looks premium. It is thin and lightweight. The speakers are very well placed at the top and sound good for a laptop this small. Great for writing documents and perfect for watching videos.
When setting it up, I had an issue where it got stuck finishing Windows. The message said not to turn it off but after an hour and a half, I shut it down. Fortunately, when I turned it back on, it finished the setup without further issues.
Compared to a gaming laptop, its performance is not as impressive but this is not for gaming or video editing. For browsing the Internet, writing e-mails, using Microsoft Office and playing light games, it is outstanding. It is also perfect for watching videos, especially when you flip and fold it. Because the processor is a Snapdragon processor based on ARM, there may be about 10 or 15 percent of apps that will not run natively on it. Those that do performs better when optimized for it. Personally, everything I installed worked well. As to comparing to my gaming laptop, I can take this Yoga with me for long trips while I cannot with the former. It is small, good looking and light enough.
Another issue I encountered was that I could not install Google Chrome without switching it from Windows S Mode to standard. That was easy to do although Microsoft recommends against it. In S mode, Windows only installs apps from their store but they do not have Google Chrome there for ARM. I turned Windows S mode off because I depend on Chrome but you cannot turn it back on. The main problem is that programs in this mode run slower because it uses Win32 instead of Win64. This is a Windows problem, not Lenovo’s. I hear Microsoft is already working on this issue with developers and there should be a patch to fix that soon.
One of the best things about Lenovo Yoga is the flexibility of switching it to tablet mode. I really like it but it should come with an active pen, which you can order separately. Luckily, I had a Surface Pen which worked well with this laptop. Combined with a pen, I can draw and paint; two things I love doing on this type of laptop/tablet combo.
Its SIM slot works with T-Mobile or other providers, not just Verizon. You just need the right SIM card, which I happened to have one. Great for travels.
I really like that there are two USB-C ports. One on the right and another on the left side. These ports are many times faster than previous USB 2 and 3 generations and they can power demanding devices while allowing charging the laptop itself through them. For this Yoga, you can choose either port to charge it. However, it does not have any USB 2 or 3 ports. That means you cannot use it to charge your phone unless you have a USB-C cable for your phone. You may not be able to use your thumb drive and other devices that don’t have a USB-C connector. If you need those legacy ports, you will need to order a USB-C hub.
I used it for a full day without recharging it but I do not know if the battery charge can last 25 hours as they say. I doubt it but after over 14 hours of almost continuous usage without connecting it to power, it is already impressive.
There is more to like it such as the fingerprint reader. It allows you to log on without a password. In addition, it is always ready when you turn it on, just like a regular tablet. No waiting for Windows to load. Perfect for the instant gratification generation; me included. The color contrast is not very high but it is not bad and is in line with sub $1,000 laptops.
I would have rated it five stars if the pen had been included, which I think is essential for this model and is my only complaint. I really like it!
