First, I bought this computer from Best Buy because my daughter needed a replacement and needed a computer with specs that sufficiently supported her use of Arc-GIS and other heavy-demand apps. This one met the requirements. 35 days later, it failed. Power button failed, and according to Best Buy, OS was corrupted. Best Buy refused to accept a return because their policy doesn't allow beyond 15 days. I get it, but it was supposed to be covered under warranty and Lenovo is telling us that only the OS would be warranty, not the power button fix. So...I'm left wondering...who IS responsible for a poorly manufactured laptop computer that is in its warranty period. Apparently the customer. Never Lenovo. Never Best Buy. Never, ever again.

Regarding your issue with battery – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in laptops like this Yoga Pro 9i, that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards and high refresh rate displays. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the NVIDIA Control Panel, enabling you to choose the GPU working mode. You can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even more power conservation.

I edit using videos using Davinci Resolve, photos with Adobe photoshop and lightroom. I use my xtool laser engraver software. I do paperwork for multiple real estate agents, daily. It worked "well" until I started editing videos. It doesn't particularly like Photoshop, either. The other day i lost 2 hours of work because it wouldn't connect to the internet. I feel like I should not be having these issues as I do not run multiple softwares at once. I will have the internet up for paperwork and only one of my softwares open. I do not dare to open Davinci and Photoshop at the same time, it jusy simply won't function. One of them will shut down. Anyways....it's good for paperwork. I wouldn't recommend. Even though all of the specs are there.

To start, with system performance and network connectivity, we recommend ensuring you have the latest software by checking for updates, as this could correct the issue. To do so, first, open the Settings app > Select the Windows update tab > Select the Check for updates button, apply all available updates. Next, open the Lenovo Vantage app > on the homepage, select the Check for updates button, following on-screen prompts to apply all available updates here as well.
If after the available updates are applied and the system restarts, yet the issue persists, in-depth troubleshooting will be necessary to fix the problem. We recommend contacting Lenovo Support here: 877-453-6686, for further assistance.
With maximizing performance when completing graphically intensive tasks, we recommend utilizing the Lenovo Smart Control feature to toggle the system's thermal profile to adjust performance as needed. By pressing the Fn + Q keyboard shortcut, you can switch the system to maximum performance mode (best when plugged in) to maximize CPU and GPU wattage to deliver the best performance possible without intricate setting adjustments.
