Nice mouse pad option for gamers

The Lexip B5 mouse pad took some getting used to, but the more my son played pc games with it the more he liked it. The metal construction does seem very durable and the microtextured mouse pad finish does make for a much smoother surface and movements. With more use he's adjusted to the low-friction surface coating and smoother glide of the mouse. Given the amount of use his pc gets he appreciates the fact that this mouse pad surface will be easier to clean too. The RGB lighting is easily changed with a tap of the mouse pad controls. It offers a cool effect, but I'm surprised the lighting does not turn off when the computer is shut down. Ensure that you have desk space for the size of this mouse pad. It is bigger than a standard mouse pad, but he likes the size and wouldn't change it. This is a well built product that will serve the demanding needs of pc gamers well.

This is my first LED mouse pad and I'm not disappointed. It comes packaged quite nicely with a firm foam insert. There's not much else other than the mouse pad itself. The quality is outstanding. I was worried it would be too flimsy, but quite the opposite. It's quite ridged, stable and flat. The surface has a slight rough texture to it. But is still super easy to move the mouse around on. And the cord is nylon braided which gives it a very high quality look and feel. The LED lights are quite bright to my surprise. The colors range from your standard RGB, including purple, yellow and two alternating color modes. It also has an off option. The finger touch sensor is sensitive enough that a light touch will cycle the colors. For an LED gaming mouse pad, I'd say this is pretty awesome.

    Chic and Premium Looking

A mouse pad that connects to a USB port? It does sound odd but that’s how you set it up. Easy and simple. Personally, I haven’t used a mouse pad in years but this one is actually interesting in a few ways. First, it is very sturdy. It does not feel like a cheap piece of plastic. Its RGB light is seen on all sides and on the logo on the lower right corner. If you look very carefully you will see a few flaws on workmanship but not too noticeable. Still, it looks very professional and premium quality. Because of its rubber feet, it is very stable, even when you play hard with your mouse. On the top close to the connection terminal for the cable, there is a fingerprint sign. As it implies, it is touch sensitive and you can adjust the colors manually with you fingertip. For a moment, I thought that the whole pad was sensitive and that maybe it could replace the mouse but only the fingerprint sign is. I must admit that I like the RGB on it mainly because it is not too bright. It just makes the pad look cool or better yet, chic. So you won’t look like a teenager playing with neon lights. Maybe you are a teen and that is okay. It is just that this looks cool for any age. My gaming PC has similar lighting and the Lexip B5 Mouse Pad with RGB is the perfect companion. Of course, not everything is perfect. The first issue I encountered was the mouse cord being stuck on the connection terminal, which is too high. Fortunately, my mouse is also wireless and all I had to do was to disconnect it from USB. In other words, this mouse pad is better with a wireless mouse. The second issue was that it takes a lot of room. It is huge. I would not have removed one star from my review just because of the cord issue but for the size, I did. I would also say that if you use a wireless mouse because you don’t like cable clutter on your desk, you may not like the Lexip B5. Overall, I was satisfied. It does not sync with games or anything else for that matter, at least as far as I can tell, but it looks good and performs well for its simple function.

Give Your Setup Some LED Flair

The Lexip B5 mouse pad creates a little more of a gaming atmosphere to whatever setup you may have by adding some neat LED lighting along the edges. The pad doesn't slip at all, has a highly durable surface, and it's super smooth—my mouse glides across it easily. I've already used it quite a bit, and it's shown absolutely no sign of wear. I can't say whether it will last forever, but it seems that the mouse pad can last long time. The first thing I noticed was that this mouse pad takes up a lot of desk space. The size is a little overkill in my opinion unless you've got a sizable multi-display setup. I use approximately 10-20% of its area. Even if your mouse is large, I can't see it using up more than half of the pad. In some ways this may be good, but if you are tight on space, highly consider its size. It sports eight different lighting modes that you can change with a quick press of a soft button at the top center of the mouse pad. Some are solid in color, while a few cycle through different colors in a couple different fashions. I like matching the lighting mode with the same color as my laptop keyboard lighting. It's simple and fun. However, I really wish the lighting was more customizable. Unfortunately the USB plugin is strictly for power, not programming your own lighting effects. All in all it's a solid product. It adds some flair to my desk when it's on, and what it's designed to do, it does well. Despite the lack of customizability, it still covers a good range of colors to match or complement your personal taste. Just make sure you've got space for it!

    More than a mouse pad

This is more than a mouse pad. It's a fairly premium construction and feel and the LED lighting is easily configurable using the touch sensitive button at the top of the mouse pad. The LED lighting can be toggled through 9 different lighting effects. Some are just colors, and others performing a flashing/cycle lighting setting. What makes this SUPER great, is pairing this with the Lexip Ceramic feet on your Lexip or other gaming mouse (they sell the ceramic feet separately for those not using a Lexip Mouse). The mouse will just GLIDE over the surface, and allows for even more precise control during FPS gaming sessions. Even if you don't have the feet on your mouse, this still makes gaming sessions easier than a standard cloth mouse. Outside of the lighting, and the great feel of the pad, this won't charge your mouse (it's a wired mouse), but will definitely make your gaming setup stand out.

Sturdy Mouse Pad with RGB Bling

The Lexip B5 is a sturdy metal mouse pad with a hard textured mousing surface. Fans of hard mousing surface and the speed that comes with it will appreciate the Lexip B5's solid construction and good looks. RGB functionality is a bonus as it will help frame the borders of your mouse pad while using the pad. There's a little touch area near the top of the pad that lets you cycle through RGB colors that is somewhat gimmicky, but better than having to use a software suite to control LED colors. The surface itself is a bit coarser than some of the mouse pads I've used in the past like Destructor or even PowerPlay mat. This should work great with the Lexip ceramic mouse feet that the Lexip mice and ceramic feet kit include, but for those with traditional teflon mice feet beware, this mouse mat will probably wear your mouse feet faster than usual. Overall, solidly built mouse mat at a solid price point. The metal has the added bonus of keeping cool to the touch and its very sturdy and won't move while mousing.

A mousepad with practicality, and a little bling

This is generally not the type of device I would purchase. I'm not a hardcore gamer, and I don't deck out my computer or workspace with a lot of bling. However, as a graphic designer, I find certain items designed for gamers can be very useful for a person like me. With the modern technology used in mouse mice, a mousepad is rarely necessary, but some surfaces lend themselves to needing a mousepad for better traction. I frequently use my laptop on the dining room table, and it has a tablecloth over it. The mouse works just fine, but occasionally I feel resistance if the mouse hits a fiber in a certain way. This mousepad is a rigid plastic board. It has a semi-rough texture to it, which means my mouse doesn't glide over it in a slippery manner. However, what I really appreciate is the "consistent" movement I feel with the mouse. Even while doing some detailed work in Photoshop, the mouse moves with just the right amount of resistance, but with ease. If felt like any movement in the mouse that I didn't like was from my own hand, not the traction of the mousepad. I think this may become my new must-have accessory. I also like the rigid form factor, which literally extends my workspace off of the somewhat small table I sometimes use with my laptop. The mousepad overhangs the edge of the table by about 2 inches, and yet is unnoticeable by my hand. I suddenly have extra space to move my mouse! It's about 13.75 inches wide (left to right), and just shy of 10 inches deep (front to back). This makes a great option if your computer workspace is on a non-traditional surface, such as a rustic table (such as a picnic table type of surface) or is rather small and doesn't give much space to use your mouse. In this case, I found that fully 1/3 of the mousepad could overhang and it was still a firm surface. As mentioned, this is made of a rigid plastic, and has rubber pads on the bottom to prevent the mousepad from slipping on a smooth surface. It's very thin, with the very edge having a very thin, semi-clear strip that lights up. There is a fingerprint marking on the top center, which serves as a touch-button to allow you to change the color and motion of the light, or to turn it off all together. It has different color lights (red/orange, light green, neon green, neon blue, dark blue, and light purple), along with 3 patters (slow fade into each color, and flashing color rotation in 2 speeds). Another option is just off. I can't speak to how this mousepad might benefit a gamer, but as a heavy computer user who also does graphic design, I can definitely say that this mousepad serves a broader audience than just gamers.

Most everything about this mousepad is great: construction, style, and size (enough space but not enormous). The one flaw: the way to change the color is a small touch sensitive spot near the top of the mouse pad. The problem? I hit this CONSTANTLY with my mouse while I scroll around. Yes, this is annoying enough for me to take off two whole stars. Just make the color changing a physical button on the top of the pad.

This is really the first gaming mouse pads I have ever tested or owned. However, this item has been high on my "Wanted" peripherals list for a while. I have a tradition foam wrist cushion mouse pad, that I just always felt was comfortable and it was a buy that as a frugal person I did not need to make to upgrade. That said I was super stoked to finally get one to test. I over the years have followed the mouse pads tech and knew what to hope for out of this one. As it stands this is a GREAT mouse pad and delivers a massively superior usage experience as opposed to inferior counterpart, a traditional foam. It is bright colorful eye candy, built solid like a slate tile, and more than any other devices in my setup of equal colorfulness or brightness has drawn the most conversation and "Oh that's cool". I could stop there and say Hey buy this one and you will be pleased with its presentation and superior usage. But I feel it necessary to add the following few thoughts for this Lexip B5 and where it really falls in the gaming mouse pad category. First, the "Customization" is limited to a touch sensor located at the top to scroll through like 7 color options and that is it for "Customization". I have a Lexip mouse and was let down that the software suite used to tweak out the mouse was not utilized to add value to my mouse pad. Their suite for the mouse is one of the most detailed I have used and just really expected more from them. Then there is the usb need. The cord is very nice and really well manufacture but since the only thing you can do with it is light the nano leds, maybe small batteries would have been sufficient enough =\. This would have not made me give a usb port or wall plug to use it. Lastly, there are about three or four other brands right in this pricing and options demographic and whereas the Lexip is not last it unfortunately it is not first. My advice is, if you can get a really good deal on this one, then go for it. If not, you might shop first but do know if you elect this one either way it is a solid performer and will serve you well.

    Nice quality RGB Mousepad

Lexip - B5 Mouse Pad with RGB Lighting - Blackk The first thing you notice when you open the box for this mousepad is how nice the packing is. Its a real nice simple presentation. The mousepad sits on a dense foam with the manual and USB cable sitting nicely under it with the cable laid out in a molded channel. The USB cable connects to the mousepad with an industrial looking metal connector and looks very cool. The USB cable is braided and unlike some desktop RGB peripherals only needs a simple USB port to work. No heavy cable or dual connectors which is really nice. This is another large mousepad at just under 14”L x 10”W and because of the way the USB cable attaches you can really only orientate the mousepad one way. So be sure you have the space it will take. The mousepad has an integrated metal structure with nice size rubber pads on the bottom which did a very good job of keeping the mousepad in place. The mouse surface appears to be some type of texture material but its not metal. It is also not smooth but worked very well and while gaming I never thought about it. Which to me is exactly what a mouse surface should do. Then there's the RGB lighting. It runs around the outside edge of the mousepad. There is a fingerprint screen printed at the top of the mousepad that allows you to change the lighting effects. The options are simple 7 single solid colors, 1 with the colors changing around the edge and 1 is a breathing affect. It’s not intended to sync with other RGB devices you may have. The colors are distinct but not overly bright. I did like that it stays lit as long as you have a powered USB connection. Oh and you can turn it off entirely if you want. About the only thing I can really bring up is at the very edge of the pad and the mouse surface you fell where they come together. It’s not smooth and had a little bit of a rough feel to it. It makes you think the surface is cloth but I don’t think it is. You would have to go looking for it and it's nothing you would ever feel in use. I went to the Lexip website but they don’t really say much about it. Finally if you want an RGB mousepad and have the space for it, the Lexip B5 is built very well, looks very well and plays very well.

While the Lexip B5 Mouse Pad with RGB Lighting is attractive, it is just too big for my workspace. The Lexip mouse works real well on it, with quick reaction times. The Lexip mouse pad is attractive and neat to have RGB lighting on it as an added feature. Also nice that it has an USB port. But the pad just doesn't work for me. SETUP The setup is very straight forward. Just connect the USB cable to the computer and the computer recognizes the mouse-pad. The mouse-pad color scheme can be customized (7 options) through a touch sensor. USAGE Now, this thing is big, its 14x9 inches. So you need to have adequate space on your desk to be able to use it. Its just a fancy mouse-pad. It has 7 color modes, drag effect and pulse effect. The mouse-pad is also very smooth and the mouse glides nicely over the mouse-pad. i think you will like it when you are playing games which will require fast movement of the mouse. Note: This mouse-pad can be used with any mouse, not just Lexip mouse. So, you can get this mouse-pad and use it with any other brand mouse. PROS 1. Sturdy 2. Good color/Lighting schemes which are customizable 3. Its not expensive. CONS 1. Its big 2. Do you have adequate USB ports? at 39.99, i think its a decent value..

Not an LED Mousepad, it's a Mousepad with LEDs

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Lexip gained notoriety with their gaming mouse being a huge hit on Kickstarter, but everything they have released to date feels just like that – a first-generation Kickstarter that has things that are supposed to be features but fail to execute. And their first entry to the gaming mousepad continues that trend of trying, but coming up short. The mouse pad is beefy, mainly metal with the exception of a cover on the mouse surface, which makes it very thin a low-profile, which is kind of nice for your wrist. The edges are a little exposed, which makes for a less-than-smooth edge. It’s not like you’re going to cut yourself or anything, it’s just a little more rough around those edges than other mouse pads. And that is where the positives end. While this is touted as an “LED mousepad”, it really should be called “a mousepad with LEDs”. If you look at other LED mousepads there is usually a lot of customization you can do, including matching the color of the mouse, matching the game based on profiles, etc. You can do NONE of this customizing with the Lexip mousepad. You can cycle thru a number of preset lighting options (by touching a little capacitive touch icon in the shape of a fingerprint area on the mousepad itself). The Lexip Control Panel software (which installs on your menu as “lcp.exe” which is just awful) gives ZERO control over the mousepad – you can only control the mouse itself with that software. Every other LED mousepad on the market gives some level of configuration with the software. Since there is no real control, I ended up just leaving it unplugged & “going dark”, using it as what would be a $4 mouse pad. Also unforgiveable is the lack of a USB port on the mousepad to plug in the mouse. For those of us gaming with a gaming laptop, we don’t have an unlimited number of USB ports. Specifically, I have 3 ports, which already handle the keyboard, mouse, and headphone mixer. If I plug in the mousepad I have to sacrifice something else unless I want to use a USB hub. It wouldn’t have taken much to put a port on the pad to allow you to plug the mouse into the pad, then the pad into the PC/laptop. In a market dominated by Logitech, Corsair, and Razer, any new entries into the market have to really come to the table with some great features, or at least give you the same level of control and compatibility to make it somewhat competitive. Lexip seems to want to rest on their laurels of “we were the #1 kickstarter gaming mouse in history” and think that’s enough to compete. Unfortunately, lack of some basic features on this mousepad puts it well below the competitors, despite the price point being well below that of other gaming mousepads.

This is a great Gaming Mouse pad when paired with the Lexip PU94 mouse. The mouse just glides smooth on the large surface. I like the touch to change colors of the RGB lighting on the edge. The only issues are that I wish the mouse and pad were wireless but other than that a great gaming mouse pad that has a smooth large surface area.

Extra Large Gaming Mouse Pad, Not for Everyone

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

LexIP make the excellent Pu94 mouse and to some extent their B5 mouse pad is intended as a companion for the mouse. Random trivia, B5 is the atomic element Boron (who says reviews can't teach you anything?). The mouse pad is us huge, like an Extra Large, Super Sized mouse bad. For me, I had to position it veritically (lengthwise) on my desk because horizontally it (standard position) it was too big for my setup. So I would make sure you're comfortable with that setup or have an extra-wide desk first. Mousepad build quality is good. It's sold, the textured mouse pad finish does take getting use to but works, and the rubber feet anchor it to your desk securely. Use wise, it's 10x better if you're using a LexIP mouse or have attached their ceramic feet to your normal mouse. With the ceramic feet on the LexIP the mousepad is super slick, you get great movement, and I had to adjust the DPI settings on my mouse because I found I was moving further than I did because of the low friction. There are some downsides though. The RGB gaming light is a fun novelty and managed all from the mousepad itself (there's a touch button that looks like a fingerprint ID). You have to cycle through the color options to land on one you like... but it seems the mousepad doesn't remember your previous settings (well it didn't for me). So be prepared to reconfigure the colors on every setup. The mousepad is also not manageable/color configurable via the LexIP software. This makes the color move of an annoyance that "cool". I don't know if it's a bug with my PC or the way the mousepad identifies itself, but my PC also had issues booting with the mousepad plugged in. I ended up powering the mousepad from an external power source (not my PC). It also means it saves my settings and there's no power down issues. Overall, like LexIP's Pi 94 mouse. The B5 Mousepad is just not for everyone. If you have a LexIP mouse it's the perfect addition to your gaming rig. If you're using any other mouse you may be better served by an alternative especially if you don't have a lot of space on your desk. If you do get this and don't want the LexIP mouse, do get LexIPs ceramic mouse feet and attached them to your mouse for better glide on the B5. I have said "Yes" would recommended to a friend but honestly it depends on explaining all of the above and making sure the B5 is a fit for your needs.

Little too rough for my liking

I'm a lover of hard mouse pads. They allow faster movement and I'm not too old where shaky hands are a problem...yet, lol. This mouse pad is very good size at 13.75" x 9.875" so you got a good amount of real estate to shove mouse across. However, the surface is just too rough. I like a good smoother surface so it feel like I'm mousing on ice. This one is almost feels like it's covered in grip tape. With the rough surface it makes quite a bit of noise while moving your mouse. Plus with the rough surface I'm sure my mouse feet will need to be replaced a lot faster than on my other pads. Now using Lexip's Ceramic feet it feels a lot better, but still too noisy and not as slick on a smoother pad. Here's a puzzler: If you happen to visit the B5 product page you'll see a link to download the control panel app. There is NO REASON to have that app if all you have is the mouse pad. It uses no drivers and is controlled fully but the touch sensitive "button" marked with a fingerprint on the pad. As for the lighting, the selection is pretty sparse. There are 10 settings and one of them being off. And they're just too bright to me. Don't get me wrong, the colors are vibrant and beautiful but I prefer more subdued lighting, not something I keep noticing in my periphery. If they added customization support in the App I'd probably give it another star. But even so, the rough surface make this one a no-go for me. As great as their ceramic feet and the PU94 are this one is a bit of let down. If you prefer a rougher surface to transition from a cloth pad this might be for you.
