Great little inverter microwave

RE: INVERTER TECH: If you like to reduce the power level when microwaving food or wish that microwaves did a better job at it, you need an inverter microwave, and this is the one. I’ve been using inverter microwaves for several years and I would never go back by choice. Inverter tech allows you to truly reduce the amount of power going to heat your food rather than the microwave just intermittently cutting power. In the mornings, I heat up my coffee milk at 70% power for 30 seconds, and it comes out perfectly, without tasting burnt or curdled.
RE: HOT SPOTS: I heat a lot of pre-packaged microwave meals through a delivery service, and so far, I haven’t had a single hot spot in my food, whether using full or partial power. If something is undercooked, the whole thing is and in equal measure. I’ve never experienced that with any other microwave, not even my prior inverter microwave.
RE: SIZE: I actually needed two microwaves, so I got this model (.9 cu ft) and the bigger 1.5cu ft version. They both work equally well, but, honestly, I don’t think I needed the bigger model. I can fit a standard dinner plate in the .9cu ft model with about 1/2 inch to spare on each side of the plate , and I rarely ever put large casserole dishes in a microwave. If I do ever need to, however, I guess I’ll have the option with the bigger one! That’s all to say, if you don’t plan to heat large casserole dishes, get the .9cuft model.
RE: AESTHETICS: This microwave is very attractive. The sleek black and stainless steel lines blend easily with the rest of my decor. This is nice since I have an efficiency, and not a full kitchen where kitchen things belong.
RE: UNDERSTATED BUTTONS: Some reviews complain that the lack of backlighting makes it difficult to read the key pad. I don’t have good eyesight, myself, but the only thing I have found a little hard to read in dim lighting is the start button and that’s because it’s well below eye Level and it has a lot of writing. If your eyesight is really bad, and you can’t put this in a well lit space, this may not be the right option for you. I’d personally, however, rather have an understated keypad that I occasionally have to stare at for an extra second than to have a big obnoxious keypad in the middle of my living space.
RE: PRESETS: If you love having preset buttons for things like baked potatoes and soup, this microwave will disappoint you. The only preset button offered is for popcorn. This is perfect for me, though, because I never, ever use presets, and I hate how they complicate the keypad. I’d rather look up cooking times online.

Moved to an apartment that didn't have a built in microwave, so we needed one. I looked at lots of inexpensive microwaves, but the one we had at our last place that was provided by the landlord was inexpensive and we really didn't like it. I felt like, why not splurge on something decent? We don't have a lot of space and needed something small. This fits the bill, plus I'm an LG fan, have never had issues with LG before. Loving this microwave! Also love that when I press the 1, it doesn't automatically start for 1 minute. I can actually press the buttons to get the time I want without the 1-6 being auto starts. Still has the plus 30 sec button which is nice. Also has nice, polite beeps. Very happy

This microwave has everything we need - cooking speed, ease of use and smaller size. After reading reviews I was a bit hesitant due to complaints of the child lock and difficulty opening the door. Neither of these are real issues as you can simply disengage the child lock with the simple turn of a screwdriver and the door opens easily if you press the clearly marked spot. I find this microwave easy to operate and it meets all our needs.

It does proper microwave things, and it's just the right size. Our previous LG microwave lasted over 10 years, so we're hoping to get a good long life out of this thing.
I love that it plays a happy little jingle when done instead of an annoying beep.
If you haven't bought a microwave recently, be aware there's an annoying new feature that prevents the door from being opened simply -- it requires a press of a button on the side while also pressing the main button. It's like 2FA for appliances. I suppose this is for safety to keep small kids from burning themselves on hot, unattended food.
Luckily, if that doesn't fit the description of anyone in your house, the 2FA button can be disabled with a simple cross-head screwdriver. Somehow, my kids survived childhood without this safety feature.

For the price is a very nice microwave. I don't have children and easily with a Phillips screw I take out the children lock. Have 1050 watts more than my older Hamilton beach with only 900 and is small. which is good. I do not have 5 stars because a rare smell when using it I think is going to disappear.

I recently purchased this microwave from Best Buy, and it has exceeded my expectations. It heats food quickly and evenly, and the sensor cooking feature is a game-changer. The interior is spacious and easy to clean, and the controls are straightforward and intuitive. It's also surprisingly quiet compared to my old microwave. Overall, it's a fantastic appliance that offers great value for the price, and I highly recommend it."

Clean, minimalist design. Works well. Large enough to hold a 11 in. pizza. Display timer is a bit too small to read across the room. Soft chime. Touch button numbers are very low contrast - hard to read in dim light. Three mounting feet only 1/8 in. height - Added extensions so door will clear counter lip. Added buttons to stainless steel strip to keep fingerprints off surface which surprisingly discolors slightly when cleaning. At 100% power seems to run somewhat hot - Need to reduce 3 minute cooking time to 2 min 50 sec.

Better than my old giant over-range Whirlpool

Had it for about a month so far. Works great! Love the small size that fits on my little 18-inch counter, doesn't stick out too far either (enough room to set a plate in front of it). I was worried it'd be too small, but my standard dinner plates fit inside just fine with lots of room to spare. I'm used to a massive under-cabinet/over-range microwave and haven't been bothered a bit by the smaller size.
The child lock thing can be turned off, thankfully. It does cook stronger/faster than my old Whirlpool over-range microwave, so it's a bit annoying that I have to set the power to 80% every time I cook (can't set this and keep the setting that way), but it only takes a second.
Most things still microwave fine on full power with the 30-second button. Also has cute little chimes and sounds, which isn't a super important feature, but I think it's adorable. Easy to clean, gets the job done, just love this thing! Never going back to a giant cabinet-mounted microwave again!

Great Inverter Microwave Suited for Van Life

This is a nice small microwave. It appears well made and its controls are easy to understand. As an inverter-type, it delivers power in a steady manner, instead of a conventional microwave's pulses of high power. One benefit of this is that at 70% or lower power levels, this microwave can be powered by a 1000-watt inverter. My use case for this unit is to cook in a camping van on battery power, so the ability to run off a smallish inverter is ideal. I'm happy with my purchase.

I bought this microwave for my mom, and it couldn’t be more perfect! The size is just right—not too big, not too small—making it ideal for her kitchen countertop without taking up too much space. It works flawlessly, heats evenly, and is super easy to use.
The design is also a huge plus—it looks sleek and modern, and my mom actually commented on how nice it looks in her kitchen. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It’s exactly what I was looking for!

I love this little microwave. I needed something small due to the limited counter space in my kitchen. The design is simple and blends in nicely without creating an eye-sore.
Since I don't heat anything larger than a dinner plate the interior is perfectly sized and the turn-table ensures even cooking.
It's very quiet when running. I do wish the done chime were a bit louder though so I could hear it if not in the kitchen.
The LED interior light is a great touch also.
This is a great value item for the price!

A Perfectly Cromulent Microwave

This is a pretty stylish, powerful microwave. Cook times are relatively quick. Both interior and exterior are very easy to clean.
However, there are a few flaws. The touchscreen surface has some flaws. It's great that it's glass as this would eliminate the smudging and tearing from non-glass control panels, but presses are difficult to register and are not super intuitive. Otherwise, a perfectly serviceable microwave.

All features on this microwave are phenomenal as they do not have on just any other microwave! IT IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST YOU CAN GET! The smallness saves on counter space also. AND WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT YOU CAN GET 1000 WATTS OF POWER FROM THIS SMALLER MACHINE.

Capable and Affordable

We bought this oven to replace a 21+ year-old microwave, and we’re quite happy with it.
It has the same power and capacity as the one we replaced, so cooking is essentially the same. In the past 21 years user interfaces have made a number of advancements, so the only real challenge with this new device was figuring out which button to push for what - which wasn’t a real chore.
The LG microwave is quieter than our old microwave, and offers several safety features not available in the past. One is a child safety lock on the door latch (which can be bypassed). This prevents little ones from messing around with the oven because it takes two steps to open it. Another is that it wants you to be sure you aren’t starting it without having put food in…this feature was not clear in the instructions, and was the only real stumbling block we came across.
Note: if the display says “FOOD”, that means you need to put food in the oven before it will start. And it needs you to open the door, put in the food, then close the door in a fairly short period of time, so so putting stuff in then going back to it a few minutes later doesn’t work.
This purchase was both affordable and a nice upgrade over our old workhorse microwave.
