First reason was there wasn't an icon on the tv to show me if I was turning the volume up and down. The second reason is that the quality makes an echo sound with the speaker and tv. Not bad product but you do get what you pay for.

Having said that, if the TV you choose had the ability to control other devices not an issue. With The Insignia Fire TV has no such capabilities, so I returned it because I didn't want to have to use 2 remotes to listen to my TV.
