Overall, I have really enjoyed the sound quality especially considering the price. The only downside with my current TV is the built-in speakers - this has completely solved that problem. There are some drawbacks as I've noted below, which made me wish I could do 1/4 stars (3.75). However, as a complete package, setup was a breeze, price was awesome and sound is nice! Pros: - Sound and the bass is solid for tv, movie watching, and music streaming - Setup was a breeze. I even used the digital optical cable as I don't have an LG, nor bluetooth tv - Bluetooth streaming is convenient and just worked (my phone instantly detected the device) Cons: - As others have noted, lack of any kind of volume display panel leaves me wishing at times I would have gotten an upgraded version with LCD panel. You don't think much about it, but when streaming music or something, there's no volume level (even a old school volume scale of 1-10 would be better than nothing) - Volume up and down "steps" are pretty big. Goes from almost loud enough to too loud. No in between. Would be nice if it had more granular control over volume.

It's always difficult when you're comparing speakers in a loud, busy store, but this was an excellent price that we couldn't pass up, so we thought we'd at least try it. Once we brought it home and set it up, we couldn't be happier. Excellent sound range, and great control over base/SW. Also solved the problem of loud music to voice ratio in movies, particularly DTS movies. My only beef is that it does not come with mounting brackets, and the mounting holes are on the bottom. We ended up purchasing universal brackets from Target for about $40, which fortunately, I was easily able to bend 90 degrees so that the speaker didn't point straight down... Stupid! (If you do this too, just clamp the brackets over the edge of a table and manually bend them down with your hands; don't try to hammer, it will chip paint off, even with a rubber mallet, which I leaned the hard way on the first one; the second I just bent, and it came out perfect). This is the only reason I gave 4 stars.

Con-I bought this some I was told that it can connect to my existing AV receiver and give a high quality sound. However, if you can’t attach an optical cable for output from your receiver then the sound quality is not indifferent in comparison to our bookshelf speakers (not very old). Not having appropriate connectivity option defeats the purpose. Will not work with your existing home theater. Quality will be same as cheaper bookshelf speakers. Pro- it’s a very good speaker for those who have an old television where internal speakers do not support current HD audios and you plan on connecting directly to tv (no AV receiver). It is reasonably priced for the quality of sound you can get by connecting to TV via an optical cable or connect with your cell phone via Bluetooth. Pretty loud and crisp sound for the price.

Hooking the wireless sub up the sound bar was as easy as plugging it in. I did have some issues with the sub cutting in and out during movies and games but moving the wireless sub to a different spot helped and no longer cuts out. I did have an issue with the sound modes cycling through themselves randomly but I got it replaced in one trip back to Best Buy. Since then I’ve had no issues and other than that the sound has always been great and was an easy upgrade from TV speakers. Different sound modes allow for different media sounds which is nice. The other thing to know is no wall mounting brackets came with it so if you plan to install it on the wall like I did you’ll have to plan accordingly. Also a S/PDIF cable did come with it about 4 ft long.

I bought this on black friday so it was only $119 but it packs a punch. I also bought an LG TV so it syncs well, but it also syncs great with my phone. I do have trouble hooking it up to Alexa but I think that's because of the distance. I am using it in about a 300 sq. ft. room and I can't put the volume above like 15 before it's "too loud". This thing packs a punch and will be clearly heard outside and upstairs when blasting tunes or a movie. I wish it had some options for equalizer besides a few buttons. I am not obsessed with sound but I do like great quality and at this price this can't be beat. If you are between this one and the one without a sub, I would spring the extra cash and get the sub it makes a HUGE difference.

I’ve been wanting a sound bar for a while now. I searched the web looking for one that wasn’t too expensive. I came across this one at Best Buy. I don’t by to many things on the internet, I guess I’m old school and like to touch, or feel it. I just want to make sure it’s really what I want to lay my money out for. I am totally satisfied with my purchase. The sound bar fits perfectly between the legs of the TV and doesn’t block the electric eye for the TV. It’s got great sound and the sub woofer adds so much when watching movies. It was a breeze to set up and even came with the cable to hook it to the TV. All and all, this was a great purchase.

I held off writing a review until I had the LG soundbar long enough to where I could give an honest appraisal of it. I had a Vizio soundbar before I purchased the LG, and I was TOTALLY disappointed with it. It would continually just quit working, and after many calls to Vizio to resolve the issue, I decided to just trash it. I've been very happy with the service I've gotten out of my LG soundbar, with the exception that I would like a little more volume out of it. There are times when I need a little more volume, but even at the maximum level, it's still a little short. All in all, I think it's a very good value for the money!

This is a product for the non sound snobs. The sound is clear, and it does the job for a guy in my situation; family, enjoys watching what we watch, and not too particular. The sound is clear, and it definitely does what our new TV cannot, which is adequately amplify what is happening on the screen. My only complaint is that the threshold between unable to hear and too loud is very small, and sometimes non-existent. However, for the heavily discounted price (1/2-off Black Friday pricing in February) and not being overly picky about my sound system, it does the job just fine.

Got it with a new LG TV SK8000 during one of bestbuy’s sale. Sound quality is good but feels dampened by itself. It does wholesome when it’s TV internal speakers + soundbar&woofer. It pairs with the TV, so you can use the TV remote to adjust the volume. Unfortunately, if you use the tv speakers + soundbar&woofer together, you need to use two separate remotes to adjust volume. Bluetooth works too, so if you use a portable speaker for music in your room, might as well get this with its little woofer -TV can stay off. Lastly, wish it had hdmi arc.

I got this soundbar after Christmas for $130, which was a great deal. It is not quite as good as higher end models and doesn't have all of the features, but is has a good sound to it and does have three or four different modes. In short it will easily make your TV sound better, which is what you are buying it for. It also has Bluetooth so you can connect another device and play music through it. If you can get this in the the $130 to $150 range this is a complete steal. Do yourself a favor and skip the higher models unless you are an audiophile.

This LG soundbar is a very nice addition to my home entertainment system. Great sound, and excellent bluetooth connectivity with my iPhone and iPad! Great bass from the subwoofer! My only issue is that this particular soundbar lacks a display showing volume levels and the different settings when using the remote. This is the only reason why I gave this product 4 stars rather than 5. However, I've gotten used to it, and this LG soundbar is really a great product which produces excellent sound. Overall, it is a nice soundbar that I would recommend.

The sound is fantastic and I enjoy it thoroughly, however, there is an issue with the sound going in and out. It’s a Samsung TV and this sound bar and it’s via optical cable. It randomly cuts out for a couple seconds at a time and then it’ll come out. It’s not the TV, not the streaming app, or movie. It happens in all of these so the only constant is the sound bar unfortunately. Any help would be much appreciated as I very much enjoy this product and I’d like to perfect it. Thank you!

I bought this on a Black Friday sale and it was a great purchase, I love the sound it provides and it has a wireless sub woofer to go with it. I am not an audio head so I cannot give you much detail about sound quality and how the high and lows sound. But I can say it has really enhanced my viewing experience at home. My only problem so far is since hooking it up to the TV. Once out of every 5 days or so the TV will not auto wake and I have to turn it on with the remote.

Pretty happy with it overall for the money. Sound is decent, subwoofer is nice other than the bluetooth connection. It has trouble staying connected here and there. I think our neighbor runs another bluetooth device and it interferes with it. it would be nice if it had an optional cable backup plug to not use the bluetooth, but that is the only option. So, if it doesn't work because of interruption then you are hosed and might as well get something else. I would buy it again though.

I recently had a baby so it was bye bye to my 5.1 surround sound system. It's hard to really objectively write this review because soundbars don't compare with full out surround sound. However, I'll try! It sounds good, easy setup, and low profile. It's nice that there are no cords all around (hence the reason i got rid of my 5.1 system). It won't replace a 5.1 system but it sounds good for what it is.

So I wanted to wait for a while before I wrote a review. I must say that I was blown away by the sound. This has been one of the best purchases I have made this year for the amount of money it cost. The only negative I will give this soundbar is that unlike it's early versions they no longer have an actual screen. This makes it almost impossible to see what you currently have selected. This is only a minor nuisance at best though.

Deep Base and in store this sounded better than pretty much everything besides Bose or Sonos. I wanted to spend $400 for the Sonos but ended up saving money on this. Two dings, one the volume is controlled separately from the TV which is annoying. Also the volume is different from Netflix to TV to Amazon Prime so you have to constantly adjust the volume based on which smart TV app you’re using.

Excellent speaker system and a tremendous upgrade of the TV sound system. It makes the audio portion of any TV show pop. Great base separation, very clear highs and excellent voice reproduction. The bluetooth system makes it a powerful addition to any phone. My only complaint is the need for using the included remote, which means two remotes for the TV. Highly recommended, especially on sale.

This product was easy to set up and you definitely notice when it is not on. It typically goes on when you turn on the TV, but unfortunately sometimes it doesn't and you have to turn it on with the remote it came with. Not a big deal, but not sure why that happens. The sound is definitely better when it is on, so we are happy with the product overall.

I use this in a small room and it works great. However, the wireless sub needs to be near the sound bar or it will intermittently cut out. I had this issue when the sub was on the back wall (approximately 8-10ft away). After moving the sub beside the sound bar I haven't had any more issues. Also, it can be set to auto power with the tv and work with the tv or xbox remotes.
