Great sound with a glitch or two.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a replacement soundbar for our 43" LG flat screen. Two things attracted me; price ...it's at a significant discount; reviews ...a long litany of positive comments. Icing on the cake; the 35" long "bar" fit perfectly along the top edge of the TV and the sub fit the "cubby" in the TV cabinet. Mounting the soundbar was a challenge; the bar is designed to sit on the TV cabinet or be mounted to the wall, either on a shelf or using the included wall brackets. Mounting the bar to the TV, above or below, requires buying a mounting kit with "L" brackets in it. Our flat screen is on a moving mount; it swivels, extends and retracts so the soundbar has to be mounted to it. Two threaded points on the bottom of the soundbar are the only mounting options. The marginally sized cut-out on the back of the soundbar for HDMI connections makes installing them difficult. The HDMI jacks are not marked; labeling is on the roof of the cutout that's impossible to see with the bar installed. Marking the "ARC" specific HDMI jack is a good idea. Initially the TV and soundbar didn't work using the ARC feature. I got no sound even though the bar/sub powered up properly when the TV was turned on. I tried different tactics and eventually got the ARC feature to work. I believe re-seating the the HDMI cable for the ARC function is what did the trick. The sub-woofer has a rear-facing port and, for best effect, you should place the sub so the rear port isn't blocked. When I installed this in my television cabinet I cut out the back panel where the sub was placed. Robust fidelity is how I would describe the "voice" of this soundbar setup. The combined unit is rated at 300w rms(!): 50w/ch for the bar and 200w for the sub. THD is 10% for both bar and sub ...not the greatest but, unless you're gonna crank the volume, it shouldn't be noticeable. My ears tell me this has a much fuller sound than the Sony unit it's replacing. The LG soundbar has 4 sound programs: "AI Sound Pro"; "Bass Blast"; "Standard"; "DTS Virtual X". In addition you have the ability to adjust treble and bass and set the Sub-woofer output level. "AI Sound Pro" works nicely; IMHO the best "sound effect" of the bunch. Tweak the treble a bit for voice clarity, add a bit of bass and dial in the sub output level and you're good to go.

Good budget soundbar for TV and movies.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll just start by saying that this isn't the best for music. It doesn't sound as powerful as some of the others at this price point, like the Sony HT-S400. The LG SN4A's sub just can't keep up. But, for movies and TV, it does ok. I think the AI Sound Pro setting is good, and I leave it on. I do have to crank the volume up for some programs, There is no HDMI cable included, but there is a pretty long optical cable inside. I used it until I figured out the eARC connection, which was a setting I needed to change on my TV (changing the sound processing from Dolby Digital Plus to Dolby Digital). The SN4A cannot process Dolby Digital Plus. I do like the SN4A, and I think it's perfect for a bedroom TV. The display on the front automatically dims after a few seconds, which is a fantastic feature. It also has an HDMI input for another device to connect to directly, if you need it. I think for a small to medium-sized room, this will perform at its best. Any larger of a space and this will sound underwhelming. You'll want to go up a class or two for sure.

Good 2.1 surround sound
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the LG 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer and DTS, and I must say, it has completely transformed my home entertainment experience. First off, the setup was incredibly easy. The wireless subwoofer connected seamlessly, allowing me to place it wherever I wanted without worrying about tangled cables. The sound quality is outstanding; the clarity in dialogue and the booming bass from the subwoofer create an immersive audio experience that makes movies and music come alive. I particularly appreciate the DTS technology, which enhances the overall sound performance, delivering a rich, cinematic sound that fills the room. Whether I’m watching an action-packed film or listening to my favorite songs, the audio is crisp and well-balanced. Another highlight is the sleek design of the soundbar. It fits perfectly under my TV and adds a modern touch to my living room.

Great but not the best
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the soundbar is great for the price, it is not as loud and could be easily drowned out by noise like a portable AC, the wireless woofer is amazing and I love that I can place it anywhere without needing to run a cable from the soundbar to the woofer. I recommend it for a small room.

Good one, value for money
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good one, as a suggestion if there is a way to use LG TV remote for this speaker remote it will avoid using multiple remotes. Subwoofer performance is good. Sound quality is proficient, competing and not like top most in market

Ok for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think for the price is good enough. No, it's not an audiophiles first pick. But if you're just looking to boost some crappy TV speakers on a budget, i don't see why this wouldn't work for you. The picture doesn't really help, but they wanted me to add it...

Good sound , with connection issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this during the Christmas sale at a great price. When I saw it I thought it was cheap enough for an LG sound bar that it was hard to pass up. We have a 75 inch Sony Bravia that has a good sound system but not the best. I thought this sound bar would be a great addition. Setting up wasn't too bad and the Sony seemed to accept the new system and it made a great difference in the sound quality. The only drawback is that when you turn the TV on it takes it a while to switch over to the external speakers and sometimes we have to restart the process. We have it set up on HDMI ARC on the Sony and every once in a while it will try to connect as Optical and you have to retry to get it to connect to ARC. Could be a compatibility issue with the Sony Bravia, I don't know, but it can be a pain sometimes. Maybe there will be a Sony update to help in the future. Overall we are satisfied with the sound quality for and entry system as this one is.

Great with an LG TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The soundbar has great sound and interacts with my LG TV easily. I am a little disappointed in the volume of the sound it gives. I have it in a large room, and usually it is at full volume.

Not perfect, but pretty good!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a decently sized bedroom with a large TV, and wanted to get a cheap but nice soundbar to complement it. This does the trick nicely! Some of the frequencies (the mid and high range) sound a tad muddled, so it will require manual equalizing for your own setup. Once that was done, I've been happy with it since! Setup is super easy, I got it done in a matter of minutes after opening the box. If you're debating between the version with the subwoofer and the one without, spring for the one with. It helps the entire thing sound MUCH better, and the bass sounds punchy and defined. It can also get really, REALLY loud if you're not careful. I played some old school dubstep (Burial's second album, Untrue) through it and I could physically feel the air moving when I put my hand up to it. It also handles rock music well (tested with Souvlaki by Slowdive), bass guitar helps round out the bottom end without shaking the walls. Overall, you get what you pay for. It's not the best, and I've heard and owned speakers that have sounded better, but for the price you can't go wrong. Having said that, however, I paid $150 on Labor Day for it. For that price I'm thrilled, but if I got it at the listed price of $280 I might be singing a different tune. If I were you, I'd wait for a sale and get it when it's closer to at most $200.

Works well, just don't use outdoors
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably an obvious bad use case, but we have this soundbar connected to a TV on our covered deck. When we are sitting in our hot tub watching something this soundbar sometimes isn't quite loud enough. For all other uses it is perfectly fine and the subwoofer adds a lot to the sound that I didn't have before. Previously I had an old receiver with some bookshelf speakers for this setup, and they were not quite up to the task either. Overall this soundbar was an improvement. It is the first one I've ever owned and now I have a better idea on their limitations. As far as features, I appreciated the fact that I didn't have to do much setup at all and the included remote is only needed if I want to change sound options. The volume control for the TV itself changes volume on the soundbar. This may be how all soundbars work but I've never owned one before.

Great for what it is
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The soundbar looked a little smaller than expected when I received it, but after setting it up I was pleasantly surprised. The for subwoofer’s size, it really does add some base to the listening experience. Also really nice that it’s wireless so you can put it just about anywhere in the room. This won’t beat a custom receiver setup, but really great for adding some better sound over the TV speakers.

Great sound
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound, syncs with the tv. So you don’t need two remotes. Only complaint is that sometimes it won’t come on with the tv and they have to resync

LG sound bar to the rescue
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this sound bar to fix the sound issues with my flat panel tv. The sound was getting worse so LG sound bar to the rescue. So far it has been great for watching tv shows and a few movies. The sound is definitely clearer and more consistent. Is it the greatest sound? It’s honestly not bad but have not really listened to much music at this point. It was easy to hook up and use. I have an LG tv as well and being able to use the same remote was a definite bonus. I saved a few bucks buying an open box one. I don’t know if I would like the value at the regular price but definitely at the lower price.
