Narrow front loader for small apartments!

After having my combo washer / dryer unit finally giving up the ghost, I was happy to see that compact washers and dryers had finally become a 'thing' on the market. My unit has a space for a washer and dryer, but it's only 27", and with most standard washers and dryers also being 27", there was no way to get a regular one in, but LG also had a 24" solution too! Being a front loading HE washer has it's cool points that you can pretty much stuff it full of laundry and it still can wash the load well. It uses very little water and detergent, so it's really friendly to the environment that way. Things I didn't like about it being an HE washer is that it takes much longer to get my laundry done now. What use to take 30 minutes to do a load now doubles to over an hour usually on a standard wash cycle. The other issue I have is that because the washer is so low, I tend to sit on the floor to load and set the washer, but so far, that's not too bad yet... overall I'm glad I purchased this washer - it's few quirks are more than made by the overall purchase and am very happy with it!

The washer and dryer were the perfect size for my small condo. They run very quiet which is a plus. The spin cycle on the washer does a great job of extracting the water from the clothes/towels which in turn helps them dry quickly. However, during the spin cycle, there is some vibration of the front lower body panel. The preset cycles work great and it is also easy to customize if you prefer. The child lock is great when my grandchildren come to visit. I must also commend Travis & Mike who delivered and installed the washer/dryer in a very tight space. They were very professional, prompt, and polite. Travis did a good job of teaching me how to operate the units so I didn't have to study the instruction manual for an hour.

We used to have an older Bosch which was very loud. One could hear it spinning from outside. This machine is incredibly quiet, with a variety of settings, and larger capacity. I appreciate the music it plays at the end, very pleasant and it fits just as well or better than the Bosch that used to be there. So far the settings have been great and no problems whatsoever. We have three people in our home and run at least two loads every day. I am looking forward to trying the programmed settings with my smart phone.

LOUD knocking - need more parts/labor to fix it

Runs well except for annoying loud knocking sounds when it fills with water just after starting a cycle. It’s startlingly loud. 3-4 thunks. Internet research and calling LG show we need to buy 2 water hammer arrestors to stop the pipes in the wall hammering/knocking from sudden unit valve shut off of water intake that causes back pressure into the plumbing . It is apparently a well known problem w/ this unit that people find out after purchase and experience and research. It was mentioned in the reviews I read beforehand. Had I know I would not have purchased. Too late to return after the product was unused after delivery while construction was completed. Now have to hassle w ordering parts and finding someone to come install. So be forewarned you may be additional parts and labor involved w this unit.

    Shakes and vibrates violently.

I ordered the pair based on their small size and my limited space. First, the installers failed to follow the install procedures and didn't properly balance the machines. I spent the afternoon doing it myself. The first time I used the washing machine it started shaking and vibrating violently during the spin cycle. I have tried reloading the washer mid-cycle (like the instructions suggest), using smaller loads and readjusting the feet. It doesn't matter what I do. The washer shakes and vibrates violently during the spin cycle. At first it seemed to just occur during the higher spin speeds. But now it doesn't seem to matter what speed I set it at. I reached out to Best Buy customer service who originally offered to replace it. Then I was told that no replacements where available and the best they could offer was a 150 dollar gift card. I have been sold a lemon. I am very unsatisfied with both the product and Best Buy's response.

Only washer that fit in our alcove. A tad small on the capacity. Not recommended for a large family. Single or couple without children should be fine. Works well, it quiet and pretty easy to use.

We have used the same old washer/dryers for the last 20 years. They still worked but wanted to get some energy saving appliances. It was hard as we have a small space so have been looking for some time. These fit perfectly in the space and are so easy to use. So far I love them.

We've used the washer for several weeks now with no problems. Because modern washers are so large, we needed to find a washer with more modest proportions to fit the space we had available. This washer met our needs. Thank goodness for the small apartments in Europe and Asia.

This washer is terrible. The vibration and noise produced at high and extra high spin cycles makes it unusable (and the vibration and noise even at medium isn't great). We've had an LG tech come out 3 times. Each time, the machine stays balanced for a few cycles and then the horrible vibration and noise start again. LG has been a nightmare to work with. You can't consistently schedule a tech visit on-line, and, if you have to go through customer service, they won't leave a voicemail or a return phone number! (meaning you have to catch the phone call when it occurs) The Geek Squad was also horrible. They canceled the appt without telling me in advance (I only discovered the cancellation when I called after they had missed the appt window). When I last called, I literally spent an hour on the phone and got transferred to about 5 times. I tried to get an LG tech to come out a 4th time. LG had to outsource it to a third-party. The third-party has an "injured hand" so they made a referral to yet ANOTHER company.... who has yet to call (after several days). This is literally the worst purchase I have ever made. AVOID.
