I hate giving a low rating but we have only had this microwave for about 3 weeks and the display is already not working. We have always bought Whirlpool appliances and we have never had any issues but we wanted to give LG a try because they had a stove the we wanted. The other down side is we have to wait to have this microwave repair and we had it less then 30 days. Best Buy won’t help they told be to call LG.

Love this microwave in our new kitchen. Lots of settings and excellent even heating.

Great microwave. It is also easy to clean/ keep clean- doesn't show finger prints like regular stainless steel.

I don't normally write negative reviews but this one forced my hand. I could not be any less satisfied. I purchased this during a renovation and therefore didn't install it right away. By the time I went to install it the return policy ran out. This was very unfortunate because when I opened it there were issues right away. First of all, the "protective" plastic wrap was way to sticky and ripped off a chunk of the finish showing the white plastic underneath. The coating should NOT peel off on a $500 microwave. Once I got it installed it felt really cheaply built and the door sags so it doesn't line up properly. Finally the thing barely works. I had a small table-top unit that we replaced which worked so much better and took much less time for things to heat up. Not happy at all! If I could return this I would have by now, and I'll probably never buy another LG appliance again. I've always had good luck with Best Buy but not being able to return this damaged unit because I purchased it a month before it was installed...come on now, It's obviously damaged! Extremely disappointed customer.

The extended tray is not heat treated and it cracks. Spent 3 months talking with LG and their service providers until my warranty expired. LG warranty doesn’t cover what is called “ cosmetic repair” even though they claim they pay for part and labor. Their service centers or companies that provide service on LG’s behalf , refuse to provide service since they won’t be paid by LG down the road. DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS. I would have given it no star if I could !

My only problem with this LG microwave is that the the edge of the door and the right side of the microwave do not align properly. When i purchased it best buy didn't have it on the floor and the sales person had to show me several models on the best buy website but when i received it via delivery i was disappointed but it was too late to return it to the store.

One of the worst products I have ever bought, the door frame where the handle is attached got cracked within 1st year and the door handle came out.

Very good quality. Easy to use. User friendly. Looks awesome on top of my LG stove. Is ver big. Only recommendation is the metal plate to hold dishes should be higher.

I have had the microwave for a couple months. I installed it myself. A couple minor things on installation. Even if you have a standard opening the template has to be trimmed. Once the templates are taped up, you also find that they are not 100% 1to1 for the proper spacing. I allowed for that but still to make some minor modifications. I had washers, but the top bolts should come with washers so that you can make the holes a little larger. Major nit pick is that the front is all metal except for the face of the extend a vent, the feature I paid extra for, which is cheaply painted plastic. Paint came off exposing white plastic just taking the protective tape off. Very poor. It should be metal or better chromed plastic matching the rest of the finish, especially since it needs to be frequently wiped for cleaning. Every once and a while the bottom half of the display will act up and not display properly until the door is opened and closed. Otherwise the microwave works well, has nice features,. and the extend a vent works great for catching extra vapors coming off the front burners of the stove. I frequently use the sensor cooking.

I recently had to buckle down and buy a new microwave, since the one I had just gave up on me. I had a simple microwave normal usage. So I was going to buy something that had a little flair and great wattage.i happened to see the LG model on sale in another store and since Best Buy price matches I thought I give it a shot.. . Bought this model and the sales person was so helpful it made my experience ...well worth the trip. The microwave is quiet , heats quickly and has the extendable hood! Well worth the money!!

Pros: size , relatively quiet vent, good performance, and the ‘extendavent’ feature. Cons: installing is a challenge because instructions and template are not accurate, fingerprint magnet contrary to what was advertised, and vent is not as powerful compared to the GE that it replaced. Hopefully, it will last for years as installing an OTR microwave was not easy.

I had an older LG, about 6 years old, at that time their top of the line over the range microwave, with the pretty blue interior. It worked well (after the first was replaced because of a bad part after 10 or so months) but I needed to replace it when I started changing the rest of the appliances in my kitchen over to stainless steel. This one won after all my research because I knew my LG had been rock solid, and I loved the extendavent technology. The thing I lost was my old one had multi movement on the tray - not just rotating in a circle, but it also moved side to side in the microwave, the entire tray had a two way movement. But I'm not seeing any loss with my cooked food in here. It looks good, but seems a waste of space for things to the right of the door handle. I would've preferred the door be the entire front surface then if they weren't going to use that for anything. I have mine vented outside, and the top position vent works well with this. I just wish the standard microwave use, not just the vent from the stove beneath, used that. But that's not a particular issue here, it's just how all have been so far that I've ever owned. I like that you can enable or disable the clock, and I also like that the clock is considerably subdued compared to the Samsung stove I have underneath it, which is insanely bright when the room is dark. Enough that it becomes its own nightlight. This one is far less obnoxious than that. The various things I've cooked in it so far turned out fine, but I'm a pretty simple single father, so I don't use the microwave for much beyond steaming veggies and such, so I haven't played with the sensor technology at all, as everything I do is timed. I only have two complaints about this, neither big enough to knock a star off - first, the window in the door is useless - with my old one, I could see what was cooking through it. This one, you can see what would be on top of the rack if you cook something on it. The tray is below the viewable area of the window. The second complaint is that the buttons are not nearly as easy to use as my old one. I often have to press multiple times to get something to register. I never had that issue on the old one, so these take a LOT more force to press. But on the plus side, I like the "add time" feature. Fan is INSANELY quiet compared to my previous LG model, the HIGH on this one (turbo actually) is about as loud as the LOW was on the old one. The lower settings here are nearly silent. Amazing.. Extendavent works great as well, you can SEE the difference. For me, it's a huge plus since I generally only have one thing going on the stove at any given time, and it's invariably on the front right burner, so the old LG microwave never was able to get anything from it. I even now move my dehydrator on the stove top now so I can vent that when I make jerky. All in all, I'm very happy with this unit.

great size, color, ease of use, quality, and presets.

Our old Kenmore microwave died right before Christmas and after doing some research, we decided to go with the highly rated LG LMHM2237ST over the range microwave. I'm not sure if our old microwave was just getting tired, but the LG cooks and heats much more quickly than the old one. I love the placement of the controls at the bottom of the door (it does take a little getting used too, though). I especially love the pop-out ExtendaVent. The only minor negative is that the exhaust fan is loud on the highest Turbo setting, but I guess that's the price you pay to have such a powerful fan.
