My favorite appliance in the house

This is my favorite appliance in the house and I consider it the best purchase I’ve ever made from Best Buy, hands-down. I have a small condo so space was an issue. This fits perfectly under my countertop in my kitchen and it is very convenient. I bought the extended service plan which I have had to use a couple of times so it has paid for itself. Even with having some minor mechanical issues I would still recommend purchasing this washer and dryer However, I would recommend the purchase of the extended warranty through Best Buy as these are expensive to repair.

    So far, I'm grinning. :)

So far, this is an amazing machine. Love love love the concept: You pop in a load, walk away, come back 4-5 hours later and put away your warm, fresh laundry. No need to remember to transfer the load to a dryer. Good for disorganized people like me. It holds more than I expected. Today's load was four hefty bath towels, two pairs of bluejeans, and some miscellaneous socks. They fit without crowding the drum. When the drying is finished, the clothing feels... damp? dewey? I'm not quite sure how to describe it. You just pull out each item, give it a shake, and it's dry. The clothing is hot when it comes out, but not bone-dry-Sahara-Desert-burn-your-fingers hot. Issues I've noticed so far: --The instruction manual says to put liquid detergent into an insert in the detergent tray. There was no insert. I hopped on LG Chat, and the rep told me that instruction is a holdover from a previous model, and that this one doesn't come with or require an insert. --Bluejeans have consistently come out with wrinkly legs, and you really have to smooth them out while they're hot. I'll have to experiment with load composition, time, etc., to see what can be done about that. --It does vibrate when it spins, but not obnoxiously I put some rubber pads under the feet and it's fine. It's actually quieter than my full-size front-loading washer. Like other LG appliances, this one sings to you when it's finished, which is very... um... cheerful. (Unlike my oven, the last note of the "I'm Done" song ISN'T demented and out of tune.) It has the unfortunate tendency to give the machine a personality. I'm tempted to name mine. Just for reference: we built this into our master bath as a supplement to our full-size pair which are downstairs. I wish to goodness I'd done this 10 years ago... the convenience is off the charts. We had to have a dedicated electrical circuit installed for it, so check to be sure you have a circuit available that can handle the increased load. The unit measures 25 1/4" front to back, BUT you need some space (the manual says 4") for hose clearance, so take that into account if you plan to install it under a counter. Over all, I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

Unreliable - Buy an Extended Warranty

For the three years I have owned this unit, I’ve had to have Geek Squad come out every 3 to 5 months to repair it. Within those years the unit needed a new heating element, inlet valve wouldn’t close due to a defective pressure sensor, digital display would have condensation, the gasket started leaking and now, at the time of writing this, the drain pump is on it’s way out. Other than that, it’s really simple to use and it does wrinkle your clothes; just don’t over load it or buy it.

    Pump breaks every year

I thought this machine was a godsend, but we have to take it apart every year to replace the drain pump! Of course, it is always in the middle of a load, so now I have to head to the laundromat to finish my clothes! Do not waste your money!
