Freezer section freezes items quickly. Important to note: one must purchase a water filter every 6 months (or less depending on water consumption.)

Serious problems with defrosting and cooling.
[First Noise]
I bought this model in Jul 2019. From late 2019, only a few months from the purchase, it started to make fan noise due to the frost at the fin behind the freezer.
After enduring the noise for a few months, I called Geedsquad but due to covid 19, I couldn't get them to my place. So I contacted LG customer service. They sent a local technician who temporarily resolved the issue by melting frost at the fin.
[Second Noise]
Then we started to get the same noise from mid-2020. This time, Geeksquad sent another local technician. At first, he said he'd order the whole part including the fin to get it replaced. However, after speaking over the phone with someone, he merely bent the fins as in the attached picture. He said he guarantees the same wouldn't happen again and left.
[Not Cooling]
Feb 2021, it stopped cooling. I called Geeksquad today and they're coming in 4 days. I'm seriously considering throwing this fridge away and buy something else.

We replaced a 14-year-old 25CF KitchenAid side by side with this refrigerator. Love the updated features and improved energy efficiency. Looks great in our kitchen. It is very quiet and although smaller than our old fridge, the adjustable shelves and multiple storage bins allow for increased storage. Like the door in door option and ability to place frequently used items in this area which provides the ability to quickly grab items without opening the fridge. Temperature control seems to be spot on and I really like the information panel on the door and the ability to check or control and monitor via WiFi although the LG app is limited. Some cons; The doors, given the configuration of storage options are big, heavy and stick out a bit. As others have reported, the left door is very heavy given the storage and built in ice maker and it takes some getting used to closing without slamming the door. The right-side door has an optional internal door on the inside that frequently opens when it contacts items inside the fridge. The storage drawers (3) in the fridge are too small and are very limited as to what you can store in them, would have been much better if they just split them into two drawers. One other thing that I haven’t seen in reviews is the fact that while the front wheels are adjustable, the rear wheels are fixed and the fridge had a two or three inch pitch after installing in our custom cabinets. This drove me crazy as while the top of the fridge fit flush with the cabinet trim, the bottom stuck out two or three inches. I finally fixed this by placing ¼ inch wood shims under the rear wheels and adjusting the front to level.

I didn’t know how much I would like that door in door case. It’s great, I put all my staple items there for easy access. In the custom chill drawer, in the middle, It keep all our beverages at an ice cold 33 degrees. It’s very quiet and looks nice in the kitchen. My complaints are that you just about bust a knuckle knock knocking on the glass to get the light on, ice maker is kinda stingy with the ice and the stainless steel shows everything. However for me, those things are not deal breakers and I am giving it 5 stars because I love it.

So far so good. We chose the counter depth model. Although it's smaller inside than our previous fridge this one fits perfectly in our kitchen and looks great. It turns out that it holds more than I expected. Being able to open the front door to access items without opening the entire fridge is a nice functional feature. It runs super quiet, a lot quieter than our previous Samsung. Living in Fort Collins we are spoiled with some of the best testing, and highest rated water quality in the country. Having said that, we have had no issues with the ice maker or any issue with the taste of the water being dispensed from this fridge as others have indicated. It simply looks and works great. We have only had it for a little over a month so time will tell, but so far we love it.

I LOVE this refrigerator overall, and my favorite feature is the one that I thought i didn't even want--the door-in-door. We use this feature much more than I expected and it really does help so that both doors aren't always being opened! The down side to a counter-depth is the obvious lack of space, but the only thing i found that doesn't fit in the main part of the fridge is celery--so I keep it in the variable drawer in the middle. And I really wanted that variable drawer & that's my 2nd favorite feature! Again, the kids go in here versus opening both top doors all the time! Another feature I love is the 2 sliding "easy reach" sunken in drawers-they are perfect for keeping butter sticks & stuff that could soak up the other odors in the main compartment. The adjustable shelf for taller items is a big plus, along with the 2 trays in the freezer that are great for kids ice packs or packages of meat, etc. I would definitely recommend buying this refrigerator if you need a counter-depth! And the counter depth looks so much better that a full-size because of the configuration of our kitchen.

Best Fridge Ever!

Anyhow, this is hands down the the best, nicest, coolest, best laid-out fridge I've ever owned. I really wondered how the shallower design and smaller cu ft would work out, but it's amazing. I also thought the outer door was kinda gimmicky, but NO, it's amazingly convenient.
As an aside, this fridge was apparently much heavier than my old one, which I thought was bigger.
Full disclosure, I paid about half price for my slightly marred floor model, so that makes loving it all that much easier. Hard to speak to Quality after only a month. So far so good.

It was purchased and delivered in December 2019 with a 3-year extended warranty through GeekSquad. Of course, the water dispenser stopped working in December 2024. Geek Squad wants to charge 125.00 to do a diagnostic check.
There was also an outlined symbol of the water and ice dispenser on the lever which had scratched off from pressing cups and glass within the 1st year of using.

Bought this to replace our 5yr old Samsung that died and was unrepairable. Old fridge was 34 Cu.Ft. but my wife decided that she would like a counter depth this time. We were worried that the smaller size might be a problem, but so far it has not been an issue. The fridge looks great and the window is very handy, even without knocking on it to turn on the light. The door in door feature is very convenient and gets used often. The water dispenser works great and does not drip. It is designed so that you can fill a small glass to a large pitcher. The old fridge water dispenser always dripped and we were told that there was nothing to be done about it. Also it's ice maker quit working in less than a year of buying and was replaced twice but still never worked. The LG ice maker is a much better design. Overall we are totally pleased with this new LG fridge.

We love the design of this fridge, and the door-in-door. There is more room inside than we initially thought. The knock knock thing is helpful to find what you're looking for without opening the door. The selectable temperature drawer seemed like a useful idea, but I don't see us actually changing the temperature of it ever. The ice maker is pretty weak. For a family of 5, it doesn't make enough ice for us even on "ice plus". We had to set the freezer on 6 to even get a marginal ice rate. Maybe ice +++ would be acceptable. Also, the trigger for the water dispenser scratches after about 5 cups touch it. It's only cosmetic, but they should have come up with some way to prevent this on a $4000 appliance.

I had a 23 year old GE fridge. It was on it's last legs, as they say, for quiet awhile. Plus it was noisy; it's placed 8 feet from where I am in the family room.
I don't know when this fridge is on without standing in front of it! With three sections I can keep my beer and other drinks in the middle drawer at the cool 34-35 degrees. It has plenty of room for meats and cheese too.
The see-through drawer I use every day to see what drawer I need to open before I open it.
It has a filter built into the door. I removed it though since I have an RO system feeding water to it. All I had to do is remove the filter and the water bypassed the filter automatically.
I also bought the three year warranty just in case.
The fridge looks great in the kitchen, the see-through door makes for a more functional unit. The ice maker is quiet and it the ice is clear, which means it doesn't have tiny air bubbles in it. They are small ice cubes which means you can get more in your container.

Style is great and it's quiet. Sure you hear the ice dropping but nothing major. Love how I can fill anything with water. Crushed or cubed ice is fast. (From what I'm used to). The door in door feature gets used the most, love that feature.
My only drawback is the freezer. Not user friendly with that white sliding shelf, between the top and lower freezer drawers. It does not push back all the way so I cannot see the back of the bottom drawer. Bummer. Could be because it's counter depth?! Not pleased there...didn't catch that in any of the reviews I read before purchasing.

I went from a regular depth to a counter depth refrigerator and was concerned the upper portion wouldn't hold as much as I expected. That's not the case, it holds plenty. I love the middle drawer. That's where I keep my soda, water etc and when I buy something perishable that I don't intend to use for a day or so, (such as fish/shrimp) I keep it in the drawer where the temperature is a few degrees colder than the main compartment. I didn't really see the need for the door-in-door feature but chose this model because of it's sale price. Now the door-in-door is one of my favorite features. I never realized how often I opened the refrigerator before having this feature. I'm not that impressed with the freezer arrangement and capacity. The because the contents of the bottom drawers can't be organized, they're like big freezer junk drawers.

The refrigerator is great. Very spacious. The only complaint so far is the drinking water comes out very slow and the ice machine is only good for 6 cups of ice before it is empty.
Working with Geek Squad to get this delivered was an exercise in frustration. On more than one call I was transferred 3 times and the overall call with the hold time took over an hour. Don't try calling the store either, because nobody answers the phone or when they do answer, you get transferred another three times.
Been shopping at Best Buy for more than a decade and never had this poor service.
