I bought this fridge 3 years ago. When I purchased the product I got geek squad protection along with it for 3 years. Fridge broke down exactly 3 days after the protection plan expired. It stopped cooling and I can hear compressor working. Avg life of these kind of new generation fridges are considerably lower than old ones I guess. I wouldn't recommend this product. A 2K fridge should last more than 3 years else its not worth the money

I have had my new black stainless steel refrigerator for about 4 weeks. It looks elegant mixed with my other black appliances. I think the new black stainless steel would look fabulous in just about any setting. I had not looked at or purchased a new refrigerator for more than twenty-five years. I fell in love with the color immediately. I had to really READ the manual to understand the nuances of how the new technology works. So far, I am enjoying everything about it .

***DO NOT BUY any of these LG models with the Linear Inverter or any LG refrigerator*** There are numerous CLASS ACTION lawsuits and LG is very aware of the issues. So much that they will ship you the parts and give you a nominal amount for labor (which nowhere near covers the labor). If you read the reviews out on the web, you will see that the linear compressor and the closed system is an ongoing issue. **According to the LG refrigerator class action lawsuit, the compressor failure may be caused by a failure in the ice maker and/or fan.** https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/816719-lg-class-action-says-compressor-defect-causes-refrigerator-failure/ I bought this model in May 2016 and it has now stopped working in July 2018 -2yrs for a $3000 appliance. If you buy this $3000 piece of junk - you are a sucker just like me! ..you better buy the extended extended extended warranty!! I actually called the appliance repairman that I have used over the years and he told me that he gets 20+ calls a week on LG refrigerators. BEST BUY needs to be honest and stop selling these refrigerators with the known issues. HEB removes items off of their shelves because it could potentially harm you - why doesn't BEST BUY - this issue could cause serious illness because you have no idea that the food is at the wrong temperature until the freezer items start to melt. DO THE RIGHT THING BEST BUY - send a message to LG for selling defective appliances- QUIT SELLING THESE MODELS.

I have owned this beautiful, but temperamental, refrigerator for 3.5 years. I love the look of it, but it is not reliable. Here are a few things that happened if it helps to understand how bad the problems are: Year 1: Water/ice dispenser not functioning Year 3: Evaporator and compressor failed. I lost an entire fridge of food. (First, you notice that the ice maker stops making ice. Then, you notice the fridge and freezer are not cooling sufficiently.) I opened a chat with LG and they said the compressor has a 10 year warranty. They said they would cover labor too. To their credit, they came and fixed it and did not charge me. I image this involves all the class action lawsuits that are being filed. These are costly repairs. Do a search on the web for LG compressors, there are many, many reports of issues. I love the look of this fridge when it's working.

1st off, I must say that the price I paid for this fridge was amazing. The reviews were already great, so i pulled the trigger. I wanted water, and ice, and this appliance delivers both perfectly. I waited almost 3 months to review the product, and I have had zero issues. The install (Free) went flawlessly, and absolutely love it. the middle drawer for beverages keeps them at 33 degrees. You really appreciate the cold beverage when you want it, and I can only imagine how refreshing it will be in the summer. It also makes plenty of ice, and quicker than we use it. At any given time you have enough to fill a small cooler. This summer, we will really put the ice maker to the test. Since I paid just over 1/2 price for the fridge just before Xmas '16, I would hold out for a better deal. Not that it inst worth the current sale price, but if it went on deeper discount once before, it will likely again.

While this refrigerator looks good and fits a smaller space, it only lasted less than 2and 1/2 years before the whole thing broke down. I have now been without a refrigerator for over a week. Even though I called LG right away. It seems they do not have the parts to fix it. They told me the parts are on back order for at least another week and a half. I would hesitate in buying any LG refrigerator even if you buy the extended warranty, you may not be able to get it fixed in a reasonable amount of time. Plus the customer service has been totally awful. Still waiting!!!

We paid $3,000 like many others for this fridge. Like many other reviews have stated, it looks beautiful. It even worked very well for about 8 months. Then it started to pool ice on the bottom of the refrigerator portion. Called BB and they ordered the parts and fixed it. Now on our third year with this fridge, it completely died. Thankfully we have the extended warranty but we have an 11 month old baby and this can’t happen. So a week goes by and BB orders the parts and “fixes” it again. 2 days later it dies again and we lose another full shopping trip. For something so expensive to fail 3 times in 3 years is completely unacceptable. Do not waste your money. DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE.

I bought this ridge because I did not want the bulk in my new kitchen. Good on space, more space than my old side by side that was bigger. Looks like a million bucks in the kitchen and is quiet. I love the multipurpose door I use it as a refrigerator and keep all the drinks for the kids in that bin. Very good filter too water comes out crisp! I've only had this unit for about a month now but I love it so far, worth every penny!

This is a beautiful and very efficient refrigerator. I debated between this fridge and the 3-door version. Samsung fridges were ruled out because of the impractical design - ice maker taking up a lot of space and poor door shelf space. I love the CustomChill drawer and I use that to store soda, extra gallon of milk, wine, etc. Very satisfied with my purchase.

After 3 years ice maker went out. Then it started beeping. They replaced panel. 2 years later, ice maker, panel and outboard went out. I dont know if i recieved a bad fridge or what. I have other lg products with no issues

I bought this in 2015. The compressor failed in 2019. When I checked, LG knows about this problem and covers compressor failures for 5 years. Guess what, the replacements they send have the same issue. After replacing the compressor (took 4 weeks), the new one stopped working in 2 days. I have been without a fridge for more than a month. Geek squad protection is horrible. They have service providers out of state who take weeks to come to diagnose the problem.

After 5 years the compressor went bad. Good to know something that costs around $3,000 breaks down that fast.

Love this fridge! So far it has kept my fruits and veggies really fresh for a longer period than my old fridge did. Love all the different compartments, makes organizing a lot easier. Wish the stainless steel was fingerprint resistant, but other than that, it great

Had the refrigerator for 2.5 weeks, and now it is no longer cooling! Water was leaking from the water dispenser, and we thought our son had played with the water dispenser. Turns out the whole cooling system is not working. Looks beautiful, but so disappointed to be getting a lemon! All the frozen items have defrosted, the refrigerator is not cold, etc. Called the manufacturer's customer support and have to wait 4 days for someone to be able to come in....I wouldn't have expected any problems with a new appliance, and I guess I got "lucky." ARG!!! Beware of the drawer shelves....not enough room if you have a lot of condiments/sauces/bottles.

I am a firm believer of you get what you pay for, and if you don't, you should say something about it. I recently purchased this fridge when our old fridge (i won't mention the brand by name, let's just say it rhymes with electrosux) died. We had spent the previous month looking for a fridge. We spent hours at the local bestbuy stores, playing around with each fridge, examining the details and specifications, and arriving at a conclusion. We chose this fridge in black stainless steel: $100 for the looks and smudge resistant finish was worth the marginal increase in price. There were several factors we considered: (1) french doors--greatly improves what can fit into a fridge, (2) separate custom chill drawer--we use it to store baby food, (3) useable space--the ice maker is built into the door, creating a more useable space. We didn't need the water dispenser or an ice maker but it is nice to have. Overall, we are thrilled so far with our new fridge. Only down side: a bit pricey. But you get what you pay for.

It will work great for 18-30 months then the compressor will fail. KNOWN PROBLEM. Do your homework and google the reviews from elsewhere. Customer service at LG is a disaster. They are aware of the problem but don't care.

Does this fridge look good? Yes. I also like the space in the fridge. However it does no good when it doesn’t work. Had to be repaired twice and today it totally died. Compressor quit working. Just three years old. This is a terrible brand and terrible refrigerator. I have no idea what brand to buy anymore.

We've now been without refrigeration in the kitchen for 70 days. (We're getting by with our Frigidaires in the garage). This LG failed on 3/29/18 and there are very few techs available for service. (All tech service below arranged via LG or per their instruction) (We didn't buy BB extended warranty, because all of our previous fridges have lasted 20+ years) The first tech appointment (2 weeks post-failure) arranged by LG was a no-show, The second tech appointment (4 weeks post-failure) diagnosed replacements and ordered them. The third tech service replaced the compressor, condenser and circuit board, but the new circuit board failed, so the original was put back in, but the unit stopped cooling hours after departure. The fourth tech service was a no-show, and the next available was 2 weeks later (all of these services are about 2 weeks apart) The fifth tech service replaced the circuit board again, but it's troubleshooting light blinked 6 times indicating a compression problem. The tech (A&E) called his national tech support (STAC) and they diagnosed that there is an internal restriction problem (Yoder condenser loop) which is can't be repaired. We are now trying to get a replacement from LG. They say the tech "didn't call their engineers". We have confirmed that A&E/Sears transmitted the report to LG on 6/1/18 and 6/7/18.

Lots of issues after the 3rd year. Finally, the compressor stopped. 6 years and 8 months.

The feature set was great, but the compressor blew after only two years, effectively turning the frig into expensive landfill after the repair man was unable to remedy the problem. Be aware too, that should the compressor fail, you can only buy a LG replacement part since the Linear Compressor is specific to their model line and does not accept anything else and these cost $600. Unfortunately when the compressor died it sent debris into the system past the in line filter clogging coolant lines and rendering the frig, kaput. I'll never waste my money on another LG product.
