Linear compressor gave out, as they seem to do, If you buy an LG, get the extended warranty.

Loved the design when I first got it. Recommended it to 2 family members. Theirs broke after a year, and took 3 repairs to replace. Mine made it to two years and I just hung up after being on hold with LG for an hour and 20 min. I'm frustrated and disappointed .

Purchased in Sep 2017 this LG french door refrigerator LFXC24796S not cooling. Refrigerated foods became moldy and frozen food thawed. Customer support remotely diagnosed failure of linear compressor which is warranted for 10 years. Found online issue of class action lawsuit. Beware.

owned it for 4 years, after year 2, the ice-making component has to be replaces 2 years in a row. Year 3, the compressor failed and had to be replace. The black coating is starting to fail given the failure of the icemaking, which start to start to scratch the black coating. Maybe, mine is a lemon, I have not had any luck with it.

Inside plastic door does not stay closed. Design flaw. Otherwise fine

Very impressive looking appliance-not so impressive performance! I don't expect much from a refrigerator/freezer but keeping frozen things frozen would be one of those things you expect. This freezer routinely stops working-ice cream gets soft- popsicles melt! Initially I blamed this on the grandkids-convinced they didn't close the freezer. After several times and close observation it was determined that this freezer just stops. After pushing all the controls -like ice plus-it will start working again-requires frequent checks! Very expensive-do not buy this!

As long as the compressor lasts more the 3 years this is a great fridge. Best Buy did not reimburse the food that I lost when my previous LG fridge broke down (compressor) after only 2 years of use and under extended warranty. Not purchasing any more appliances in Best Buy

Do not buy an LG. Shame on Best Buy for selling this product. Compressor broke after 3 years. LG is difficult and won’t honor warranty.

The inner see through door seems cheap waiting for it to break

The double tap on sensor doesn’t work as shown. You have to hit it pretty hard. The ice maker water filter leaks water. Geek Squad came into my hm to repair. Ordered part to replace. Came back a week later w wrong parts. Waiting to see if they get it right this 3rd week.

This is the replacement product for the identical one I bought in 2018. Best Buy extended warranty is absolutely worth it, but LG Refrigerator? I'll never buy another LG appliance in my life. Rude repairmen, frequent failures of expensive parts. Highly recommend buying the Warranty if you buy this because you will be using it. A lot.

DO NOT BUY!!!!! Water and ice dispenser makes a mess every time it is used! The doors do not open enough to use only one side at a time, they both have to be opened to get anything in or out. When your hands are full of things needing to go into the frig, it is difficult to open both doors at the same time! UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!

Constant issues. Strongly encourgage you to buy anything other than an LG frig.
