    Problematic Refrigerator and Service

    We purchased this LG French Door refrigerator in April. The first day we had it the ice maker or water dispenser inside the left door started leaking water. It was not a large amount of water, but we had to wipe up water off of the freezer door and floor daily, and for $2K not what we expected. We purchased the 5 year protection plan (I highly recommend this when purchasing an applicance) so I called Best Buy for service. I was told there was no Best Buy refrigeration techs for LG applicances our area. I was surprised... this is a city of more than 100K residents. I was told they would contact a third party for service. Five days after the refrigerator was installed I was contacted by Open Claims Management... they told me the unit was covered by LG warranty and I should contact LG directly. I said no since that is not what I was paying for with the protection plan. They said it probably would be in my best interest then to invoke the 15 day return clause of my protection plan. So, we returned the LG refrigerator. Because of the water leakage right out of the box, and because service seems to be unavailable for the LG, we cannot recommend this LG refrigerator. I give Best Buy a pat on the back for making the return of the LG a painless process... we basically exchanged it for a Samsung refrigerator... so far, so good.

    Bad Linear Compressor after 2 1/2 years

    Although I love the space and design of the refrigerator, no parts should break after 2.5 years of use. I can't believe Best Buy still sells this refrigerator after it is well reported of linear compressor failure (after looking at online reviews)since 2017. Also, I'm incredibly unhappy with the ONLY extended warranty company they offered at that time called Warrantech. They are horrible and take 30+ minutes to answer their phones and customer service contracted with a lousy repair company who after 2 visits determined that LG had to do the work but Warrantech had to do the scheduling. 2 weeks later, no fridge and lost hundreds of dollars in food. Disappointed in Best Buy for no help with all the problems. Will never purchase from them again. Hopefully their Geek Squad warranty service is better but doubt it.

    I have purchased all of my appliances, which are LG, from Best Buy. The refrigerator ice maker took a turn for the worse. I purchased the fidge 1 1/2 years ago. It does not make ice, it makes God awful sounds and no water is being delivered to the tray. I called LG yesterday and the guy was very helpful with the diagnosis. " you need a new ice maker, since the warranty expired 6 months ago you will have to pay to replace". I thanked him and hung up. I just viewed numerous videos on YouTube. OMG!! There are a lot of people with the same problem. After spending $2K on this anchor, I would think there would be some type of goodwill gesture on the part LG to fix a known problem. I will not purchase another LG washer, drier, dishwasher, stove, microwave or fridge.

    We are getting really irritated we have yet to get it delivered and when I kept calling Best Buy you told me it was out for delivery. Called back 30 min after the time frame and said you would call the driver to figure out what was going on still haven't got a call back. We called the number from the confirmation from the day before and they told us the truck driver was injured and had to reschedule. That would of been nice to know 5 hours ago. You guys are lucky I am on maternity leave or I would tell you to keep your product and go buy one somewhere else. If he couldn't make it today, you could of called us and told us instead of wasting over half my afternoon.

    This fridge is not a regular width. This was not pointed out to us when we were shopping. Also, the setup for the water dispenser is weird. If you're not careful you'll get water all over your arm and floor. And then when you do figure it out, you have to use a glass with a very thin lip! We actually exchanged this fridge.

    Very loud when running. Vibrates all the things in the door. I have tried to adjust the levels every way possible and still doesn't help. Wouldn't recommend to anyone unless you like to hear a dump truck running in your kitchen at all times.

    Ice dispenser is horrible. It feels like it only makes 10 cubes per day. And the water dispenser is forward and away from where the ice comes out so if it drips or spill any it will go on your floor. What a horrible design!

    Had LG repairman out 3 times already, still have another appointment next week and don't think that they will get it fixed. Ice maker over fills ice bin.

    We were not happy with this LG product. It was very loud and "ran" often. It had a bad compressor and we ended up replacing it with a different brand.
