Customers are saying

Customers commend the 24" Front-Control Built-In Dishwasher for its quiet operation, excellent cleaning performance, and ease of use. Many appreciate its capacity and sleek design, along with the convenient adjustable racks. However, some users note that cycle times can be lengthy, and there have been reports of reliability issues and sensitivity with the control panel. A few customers also mentioned concerns about the fingerprint resistance of the stainless steel finish and occasional unpleasant odors.

    Great dishwasher, terrible installation company

Great dishwasher! Relatively quiet. Cleans Great and dries better than any dishwasher I've ever had. Only reason I give 4 stars is the company best buy uses for installation is a total joke!! They changed the delivery date twice and after the second time I told them to cancel everything and I picked it up myself and installed it. When I told the customer service person to forget the whole thing including the dishwasher itself, she said "ok" . That's it, no sorry, no attempt to save the sale or anything. Which is fine, I saved by doing it myself anyway, I wonder if best buy knows that's how the installation company handles the customer? Then 2 days before the installation would have been, they call to let me know what time my installation is going to be. I told them I already have the dishwasher and again, the response? Ok bye. Anyway, great dishwasher, find your own way to install it.

This dishwasher is working great and is very quiet. Dishes come out clean even after letting them sit for a while. It seems to hold more dishes than my old one. However, the instruction booklet should have been written by a native English speaker (difficult to understand---needs to be rewritten by a teacher).

I love, love, this dishwasher!! I have no complaints about this completely silent cycle machine. I use my machine a lot and each load is washed excellently clean, with not one con about it. The pros are: very quiet during use, movable racks to accommodate large pots, one can adjust for big or small loads to be washed by settings, and finally I love the extra dry setting!!!

We purchased this to match the other LG products in our kitchen that we have been very happy with. The look is great. Very sleek. The first couple of days we were disappointed in performance then realized we were not supposed to be rinsing our dishes… Imagine that! Since then it’s been cleaning and rinsing very well. Two small disappointments: 1.the bottom rack has a fairly large open row with no spikes…kind of a no man’s land. Perfect if you have a lot of large things all of the time, but a bummer if you have lots of plates or bowls. Also, the top rack has four rows of slanted spikes which, depending on usage, can be frustrating if you’re trying to put in a lot of cups( they don’t slide on nicely up and down.) 2. I can’t remember how long my old DW ran for, but this normal cycle is 2:28. Seems long to me but maybe it’s the digital display that makes it seem like it’s taking forever as it counts down minute-by-minute. Overall pretty happy and it beats handwashing so I’m not disappointed in my purchase at all:)

I bought this dishwasher about 3 weeks ago and so far I am LOVING it. Our dishes come out so clean and have no water spots. I love the time feature that shows how many minutes are left - it helps with planning when to start the load. Didn't realize a dishwasher could be this quiet! Easy to operate!

With the limited availability of dishwashers these days, I was willing to pay a bit more than I initially planned because I was enticed by the 10 year warranty, having our prior dishwasher only 5 years and 2 months before the pump failed. The other two selling points were the capacity and claim of being quite (low decibel level). Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with how loud the dishwasher is. It is much louder than our previous dishwasher. I believe the main reason is because they did not include insulation behind the access panel at the bottom front of the dishwasher, which is where most of the noise comes from. Our prior dishwasher had thicker insulation around the entire unit, including behind the access panel. Very disappointed by such an obvious oversight by LG. I wish I had a device to measure the decibel level, because it is LOUD. Since I'm on the negative, I'll mention the top rack design and utensile holder before moving on to the good stuff. I have never owned a dishwasher with such a poor design for the top rack. If you attempt to load bowls in the center (what we've done with all of our other dishwashers), they roll to the left or right when pushing/pulling the rack in/out because of the center ridge for the sprayer channel. The prongs angle forward for half of the length of the dishwasher and backwards for the other half, leaving wasted space. Maybe the prongs should have been spaced a little closer together in the same direction and raised the front/aft runners left and right of the center ridge to the same height as the center to balance the dishes. I like that the utensile holder has covers that can be lowered with slots to hang the utensils through to keep them separated if desired, but it is awkward with the handle right in the center. You have to angle the utensils around it to get them in and out. I understand that they did this for balanced carrying of the basket to your counter to unload by your utensile drawer, just makes it awkward for loading and unloading. Now on to the plus side... the top rack is adjustable in height so you can lower it if you have water bottles to clean or raise it if you have a large dish for the bottom rack. It also has a SmartDiagnosis feature that allows you to use your cell phone to diagnose errors, which I'm sure will be needed at some point. The unit also dries better than our last one when comparing without JetDry solution. Overall it's a nice dishwasher with a few design quirks. I would not recommend it due to how loud it is, though.

We were fortunate to get this on sale for $450. What a bargain! It is incredibly quiet; at 6 feet it averages mid 50s dB. The sound of me walking across the room is louder. It does a very good job at cleaning. We got it just before Thanksgiving so I had the opportunity to run it through its paces with the worst mess I generate all year and it performed admirably. I have seen complaints about wet dishes but they don't really hold water (pardon the pun) if you have realistic expectations for a machine without a heating element. Of course there will be some pooling on the bottoms of glasses and bowls with rims on them. Otherwise, if you use a rinse aid and follow instructions for use, it works just fine. And cleaning the filter is no problem, especially if you scrape large, loose particles into the compost before loading them. I suffered for years with old, noisy, inefficient dishwashers so maybe my expectations are tempered by that, but I find this to be an excellent product. Can't wait to see the savings on my next water bill.

Love my new LG dishwasher. Super quiet, intuitive control panel made it easy to use the first time. Overnight drying feature is a plus so that next morning dishes are fully dry. Only negative so far is a minor one: when you brush against the power button, it activates it to turn on. Doesn’t start the dishwasher because you need to push another button for that.

New dishwasher is a lot quieter than the one we had. Cleans good, however normal cycle takes about 2 hours. Not sure how long the old dishwasher took. Haven't tried the turbo cycle yet, read that's a lot shorter time. Really like the adjustable upper rack.

Very quiet operation, and very good at its job. I don't find items that need a re-wash after it runs. There are multiple levels of spraying, so there isn't some monolithic spray arm at the bottom of the tub responsible for blasting the entire area, breaking some fragile items in the process. There are more cycles available than I really care to use, and you can download more as well. I'm a little nerdy, but I draw the line here. Enjoy your downloaded wash cycles though, if you want! I am a little put off by the plastic handle, which is my only complaint. It seems a little flimsy for what I paid for the unit. It has not been a problem, but you can feel it give a little when you pull to open it. Not a deal-breaker for me.

It’s extremely quiet and does a great job washing the dishes- I do wish the dryer feature was a little stronger- we’re still experimenting but so far, dishes are still too wet when done to just put away- otherwise- easy to install and runs smoothly

Super quiet and it has so many features to use. I love this dishwasher, it’s quiet and super efficient. Many many options for cycles, I really like the top rack/bottom rack only option since sometimes I need clean dishes but both racks aren’t full, so I can reposition everything on to one of the racks and set that option and still get a load down even tho it’s not full! Yay! The adjustable top rack is also a huge game changer for me, raise it up and I can put cookie sheets on bottom rack, lower it down and I can put tall delicate flower vases on the top rack! There’s only 1 issue with this dishwasher, if you don’t open it up after the loads over and pull the racks out, the inside stays moist because of the metal tub. But that wouldn’t stop me from buying this again, because I do absolutely love it! My water & electric bills seem to approve of the change as well!

This washer is pretty quiet and cleans dishes great. However, if we do not run it the same day we put some dirty dishes into it, a terrible smell forms inside of it, even if we run the dishes under the sink first. Also, sometimes the dishes dry completely and other times they will still be damp hours after completion

I was looking for a stainless steel inside and outside dishwasher for a reasonable price. I wanted to update my loud old dishwasher. After many review browsing I finally settled on this one. Best buy delivered it to my house for free! My husband then installed it. It looks great in my kitchen. Very quiet! My only complaint is the drying aspect of this machine. Some times it drys really well and other times there is wet spots. I use the drying liquids and that seems to help a bit. I would give it a 5/5 if they drying was perfect.

This dishwasher worked pretty good for the first 3 months. Then it started acting up and refused to finish a load. It is nice and quiet (when it works) and when I can somehow get it to finish a load of dishes, they do come out very clean. The flickering of the lights and constant beeping and shutting down mid-wash is very annoying. Never again with an LG appliance after this experience.

This is our first of the newest generation of dishwashers, and our very first LG. After learning a bit about RinseAid technology we finally read the manual and absolutely love this appliance. It takes awhile to run its full cycle, but it does seem to be very quiet and efficient. The only thing giving us pause from going the full five stars is the overly sensitive front panel that needs to be locked out or you may inadvertantly rerun some dishes. Other than that, it goes very well with our LG Fridge and LG Oven/Range.

We are very happy with this dishwasher. It is pretty quiet (which was one of the features I was looking for), although it is a little louder when filling with water. It washes the dishes very well. The sales rep did point out that LG dishwashers do not have a heating element, which was helpful, and we do notice that the cycles take a little longer than my previous KitchenAid, to complete, due to not having a heating element. Since I usually run my cycles at night, this is not an issue for me and if I need to run a cycle during the day, I run a Turbo cycle which works well and takes less time. Best Buy was one of the few places that had this dishwasher in stock right before Thanksgiving....very grateful that they had it!
