My wife did extensive review on dishwashers and we decided this one was the best for us based on price, value, features including that it had a silverware top shelf.

Great, if you like your dishes wet after "drying"

We bought this LG dishwasher because our other kitchen appliances are LG and have the black stainless steel look, and we wanted it to match. The dishwasher looks excellent and has plenty of room, and we love the small rack at the very top where we can put knives and other flatware that won't fit in the basket on the bottom rack. And it cleans well. But that's about where our love for this machine ends. The major issue with this dishwasher is that "drying" consists of running extra-hot water at the end that is somehow supposed to make it evaporate quicker, I guess? I don't even know. But it does a horrible job. Even with the "overnight drying" option on, which runs a fan inside every so often as long as you haven't opened the door, and opening the door hours after the cycle has finished, everything is still wet, except glass and ceramic items. Everything else - plastic/rubber/metal/etc., just remains wet. We end up just leaving the dishwasher door open an inch or two to allow it to evaporate naturally, which means not emptying the dishwasher for a day or two. I really, really miss having a heating element in the dishwasher to dry things, but there were no black stainless steel dishwashers with heating elements that we could find. ::sad trombone::

2.5 years is all it lasted!

After 2.5 years of use the panel control quit working. It’s an expensive repair, compared to just buying a new dishwasher. I don’t recommend.
