We’ve owned this dishwasher for a year and half and like it with zero problems or complaints. It cleans great and it quiet. However we’ve recently noticed that it has a rust spot on a rack. Called lg and they are sending a replacement as it’s under warranty. I’m pleased.

This is the best dishwasher I've ever used. It is quiet, has a large capacity tub, adjustable racks, and a lighted interior. It cleans the dishes thoroughly without rinsing. The only negative is the non glass items do not dry well unless the extended drying cycle is chosen. I use the delay start very often and that option is a plus.

The dishwasher is very quiet. I didn’t know if it was working or not the first time I ran it. It also cleans the dishes great and has plenty of room. The only down side for me is that I only have to run it once a week and it smells horrible from the dirty dishes. My old dishwasher did not smell like this one. I think it might be because the seal in the new one is much better so it just holds all the smell in. Plus, there is more space to put more dishes so it takes longer to fill up, which keeps the dirty smelly dishes sitting there longer.

Great dishwasher! Love the light inside. Didn’t think it would be a big deal but actually really love the light. Dishwasher cleans great. Only issue we have is with it drying dishes...it leaves dishes pretty wet. We have not tried all the cycles though so maybe there’s one that works better to get dishes drier. The third rack it great especially for sippy cup lids and small items. This dishwasher seems so much bigger than our previous one. Love all the options in raising and lowering the racks.

After much research I made the purchase of this dishwasher. As expected, it does a fantastic job of cleaning all dishes and flatware. It’s quiet and so far has worked flawlessly. We have triplet 17 year old daughters so you can imagine the amount of dishes we have each day. We love the 3rd rack for the silverware. When properly loaded, the silverware sparkles after being cleaned. We also love the fact that you can set the wash cycle to do half loads (top or bottom) to save time and energy. The adjustable 2nd rack is perfect and allows for very large items to fit neatly in the bottom rack.
So far, we have nothing but positive things to say about this dishwasher. Like our water/energy saving dishwasher we had previously, it does take several hours to run. The end result is worth the wait. If we are in some kind of hurry to wash dishes (which we never are), you can set the water to turbo wash or other cycles to reduce the time the unit runs. The app is nice addition but we really don’t use it.

This dishwasher is very quiet, only can hear water running through. I put in heavily soiled dishes and they all come clean. Like the option of 3rd rack, but it just leaves more water spots on drying process, so I removed it and made more room for water bottles and bigger pans on bottom. I use the EXTRA DRY cycle every time, but still leaves water spots and water on dishes. This dishwasher works great for everything EXCEPT drying dishes.

1st new dishwasher purchase in 22 years, so a lot of the following may be a reflection of the change in design technology and not necessarily a pro/con of this LG product.
First, aestheticaly, this is a well designed product. Controls are touch panel (no knobs/buttons/dials) and are located on the door's top edge so you can't see them with the door closed. With nothing on the front face, except the streamlined LG handle which is somewhat elegant in appearance and matches our other appliances, it blends in nicely into our kitchen and is unassuming. For a dishwasher, that's the way it should be.
Functionally. Wow, all the options. In an era of being "green" and eco-concious, there is every option available to save energy, reduce water usage, maximize cleaning for specific load types, etc. Unfortunately for me, it's way too much thinking trying to match up all the best options on a daily basis to the contents of my "load of the day" to get the best wash to satisfy me and the future of the earth. So, with all those options available, I use the AUTO cycle almost exclusively -- it's just easier. Similarly, in an effort to conserve electricity, the DW powers down when its done with its most recent load and you have to hit the power button to turn it back on every time. Another related quirk is that every time you open the door during a cycle you have to hit the restart button if you don't shut the door within 4 secs of opening it (and that's almost impossible -- since you typically only open the door during a cycle just to add something you missed after starting it, & you simply can't get an item into the DW that quickly). This is big, because if you're used to adding stuff after the cycle has started, there's a good possibility that you forget to restart the machine upon reclosing it and you wake up the next morning to dirty dishes still sitting in there from last night. LG should consider changing the 4 second time to something longer, or maybe even making it a user adjustable setting. I almost kind of miss my old "fill it, close the door, and push the start button" machine.
As far as drying goes, it's OK. I'm not in love with the new heated drying technology which is apparently the way most new "green" dishwashers are going and is not this product, or LG, specific. Simply put, plastic doesn't dry well. And, while they say one advantage with the new technology is that you can now put it down on the bottom rack without fear of burning/melting it, it's often too light and gets shot around in the tub during the wash cycles, so yu still really can;t put most plastic there. I miss my old heating coil.
Cycle time: Varies depending on which options you select, and a full wash can be well over three hours in length (AUTO is just under three), to just under an hour. That was a big change for me -- 3 hours to clean dishes? Nothing critical there, just took a little "time" getting used to.
Noise: Standing right beside it, the amount of starts/stops whizzes & whirs, and other noises the machine makes are intriguing. However, overall they are very quiet & you really can't hear them just a short distance away. And if anything else is going on, including a simple family conversation, you can barely even notice it when close by. A huge plus!
Inside, the unit has some nice features but could add some simple common sense:
Lower Rack: Lower rack is open and large so would seemingly fit a lot of dishes. It has four rows of movable alternating tines in the rack so, for example, in each row you can keep all of the tines pointing upwards & stack rows of plates "tightly" together, or you can lower alternate ones to accommodate larger serving dishes, platter, bowls, etc, or you can mix and match for varied loads. A really nice feature. Unfortunately, there are only four rows of tines and they're spaced fairly widely apart. There really needs to be at least 5 rows, if not 6, of them, to fully utilize the lower rack. Since dishes need two rows of adjacent tines to be held up, the four total rows of tines only allow two rows of dishes to be filled in the rack. Even when filled with oversized plates, about 20% of the lower rack is unused due to the wide spearation between rows. Total rack usage drops even lower, occasionally up to 40% unused space in a "fully loaded" rack, when smaller bowls, dessert plates, etc. are loaded. Now I can see LG trying to keep a little open space in this lower rack to allow for better water movement throughtout the tub, but it's way too excessive. I could fill my old dishwasher lower rack full with dishes from edge to edge and they always came out clean. Surely there's a middle road somewhere?
Utensil Basket: Meh. Doesn't do a great job. Not sure if its the basket design (are holes in sides large enough to allow enough water flow through it), the mounting location at the side of the tub, or something else. All I know is I've never had to inspect each item of silverware for cleanliness after every load like I'm doing now. And, noting there's a full section in the owner's manual dedicated to how properly arrange each and every utensil into specific locations in the basket, you wonder if that's LG's best attempt at trying to rectify a known problem? Seriously. "Forks can go there or there, spoons need to go here, and knives can fill in here, here, or there." It's almost comical the attention paid to this. Seems like there has to be a better design.
Upper Rack: The traditional upper rack is actually the middle rack in this dishwasher, which has 3. In general, its OK. The unique varied bottom has no flat areas and the angled tines rising from it take a little getting used to. I'm sure some engineer spent 100's of hours designing them to hold certain glasses in place at ideal angles with respect to water flow from the nozzles (e.g. the wine glass holders are nice), etc., but overall, our mix of glasses, tupperware, and other small items must be unique because they'rs routinely tipping, falling over, and generally not laying nicely in the rack.
3rd Rack: Kind of a gimmick and often not used (is easily removable), but does come in handy on occasion with large serveware, spatulas, etc., as well as keeping small stuff from flying around in the tub.
Bottom line, it's a keeper. Nice looking, provides clean dishes, and mostly clean silverware. Wish it could hold more dishes in the lower rack and wish I didn't have to inspect every spoon before putting in the drawer. Maybe with our next one...

Leaving spots on my glassware. I am investigating possible water hardness however my previous dishwasher did not do this. The lighting inside is nice and it is extremely quiet. It does however take much longer than my old dishwasher.

Love the matte black finish and has room for lots of stuff. Only drawback is that it takes 3-4 hours to run a cycle compared to under two hours with my old Fridgidaiere. Does a good job of cleaning though, dishes are spotless.

We are very very pleased with this dishwasher. It is much quieter than I expected and it holds much much more than our old one. We really like the top silverware rack. This is a tremendous help in how much it holds. It cleans great too. I have it connected to wifi but really don't see a purpose yet....i don't download any different wash cycles...but maybe one day. just haven't experimented that much yet. only had about two months now.

As with almost all new dishwashers, this one struggles with drying. I found using the "Heavy Duty" and "Extra Dry" settings together always leaves the dishes dry, but it takes a long time for the cycles to complete.
However, dishes are always clean and I don't do any scrubbing before putting them in. Also, I really like the phone app- I get notified when I need to add rinse aid, and when dishes are complete. A novelty, but makes it fun.
Also the adjustable top shelf is SUPER useful. However the folding tines on the bottom rack always end up folding down and are a pain to keep upright.

This was a replacement for another LG dishwasher. It is super quiet and the light inside is very helpful. I like the small top rack for utensils! What I don’t like is the fact that the bottom rack is “missing “ a row of prongs for large pots. I would have preferred it being there with the ability to fold them down for large items.

Cleans well, a little noisier then my old one but it’s fine. It looks good. I like the lights inside the washer as it illuminates the dishes etc. the door feels a little light. Not as much heft to it so it feels a little cheaper. Not sure if the drying is working all that well but I haven’t been playing with the dry settings. I just hope it last longer then my old junky kitchen aid which is a brand I will never buy again.

This beautiful unit is so quiet, you literally can’t hear it unless the house is completely silent and you put your ear next to it! It’s seriously well built. The toe kick is the heaviest gauge steel I’ve seen on one so far, the insulation behind it is an inviting pillow, the bottom is completely smooth for your water and electric lines to run all the way to the front for an easy installation that will not leave your hands tore up from random metal edges under the unit, it’s loaded with features that make sense, the stainless tub, led lights, and three transforming racks are great, the quad wash has always left everything spotless, and did I mention how quiet it is?!?
You won’t regret splurging on this.
