The first time it started working again on it's own, but this time we had someone come out to check it out and he quoted the repair at $900. He said LG has recently came out with some terrible products in recent years.

New LG LSXS series fridge broke in just 3-1/2 year

Just merely 3 years, my past 2 refrigerators served me for 32 years each, one was Sears and One was Montgomaryward. Its a shame. I have to buy a new fridge now and it almost double the price.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We had picked the finish as it was to be smudge/fingerprint proof-which it is, however it scratches very easy. The door in door feature also was not what we had expected and makes the door as a whole, very bulky. The shelves inside are spaced oddly, not allowing you to arrange them so that you can stand juice or a wine bottle within the fridge. I wish the store had this particular sized unit in the store for us to see, before we purchased as we would've made another selection.

Worst refrigerator I have ever had

Electronics going haywire with everything else. First time the Compressor broke down within a year. Repair technician replaced compressor and dumped liquid charge into the system without weighing or checking pressures. Said it is cooling now and left in a hurry. Piece of junk. Will never buy a LG appliance again

2 Problems

About eight or 10 months ago ice started to build up in the rear portion of a middle rack in the freezer. It pushed out the plastic casing in the back and caused the shelf to collapse. My wife opened the door, not knowing the shelf had collapsed and the contents fell out onto the floor. Now today we discovered that the temperature in the freezer won’t even freeze water. We pulled out ice cream to eat and it was near the consistency of soft butter. Other items in the freezer were softening although still semi-froze. I am afraid we’re going to have to buy a new $2000 refrigerator after just spending 1600 on this one only three years ago. It seems like when you try to get them repaired they tell you that the repair is not worth it because you can buy a new one for a few hundred dollars more. I guess we will find out in the next day or two when I get somebody out here to look at it. I would not recommend this refrigerator.

LG replaced it for free but 4 months later the same thing happened. They replace it for free, but the cost of all the food you have to throw away for the week it is not working is substantial.

Please read this before buying an LG fridge

Be prepared for I wish I would have read reviews more carefully, especially written by those whoes units were a year old. Very common problems by posters all saying the same thing. EXPENSIVE repairs less than 18 months from time of purchase. Good luck finding a repair person willing to work on these fridges. Well known history of shoddy workmanship, so much so, reputable repair people refuse to work on them. Just sunk $800 into an essentially new fridge to keep it running.

Questionable design quality

After 16 months of ownership, the right door handle needed to be replaced due to the button opening the small door coming off. This was replaced under warranty. And this past week, the water dispenser cracked and broke and will cost a little over $400 to repair.

Compressor went out

I bought the extended geek squad warranty and I have been transferred to about 5 different departments as well as told this was an LG thing and I needed to call them. Not very happy right now and I have spend a considerable amount of money at Best Buy.

Came home to melted freezer food and warm fridge. Trying to get service on this LG appliance is very hard to do, especially when Tech's believes its the compressor. "Sealed system" keeps being brought up. Have LG washer and dryer and was looking to complete appliance set in kitchen with LG but If these items are not going to last 2 yrs. No way! I'm in a mess Many LG customers are having same issue Any appliance repair man will tell you.
