The LG refrigerator is great. The door in door aspect is spacious and perfect for those items that are quickly accessed all day long. Have not hooked up ice/water yet as we have moved into a new house without water softener (installing shortly). While reading reviews prior to my purchase I found one that specifically mentioned the ice maker and size of ice made. Hope to see for myself soon! Easy digital controls on left side of ice dispenser. Its quiet and looks great!!!! Highly recommend

Have had the side by side for about 2 months. Replaced a Samsung that kept icing up. Quick access door seemed gimmicky but is actually very useful one shelf also holds large items like milk gallon containers. Unit is very quiet, shelf construction is very solid and seems to be of much higher quality than the plastic shelves in my previous unit. Freezer space is also ample and due to ice maker design most of the cu ft is usable for storage. Very satisfied with this product.

Nearly two years old I still marvel over it. The easy access door is a must have feature. There's tons of space and easy to clean. Different buttons for water dispenser and for ice dispenser helps avoid confusion and it means you can fill oversized bottles. Changing filters for the water dispenser is easy, you can also buy them from Amazon for a nice discount. Overall an amazing fridge :)

This refrigerator so far is so impressive in many ways. You can't leave finger prints on it no matter what. We have tried our adult children have tried. You can't hear it running. The ice maker is perfect ice everytime you get ice. No clogging. Tons of perfectly laid out space in the refrigerator and the freezer. LG has knocked this one out of the park. Don't pass this one up if you are looking for bang for your dollar.

After asking friends what they liked and disliked about their refrigerators, I chose this one mainly for the price and "half" door feature. While the water dispenser often causes those using it to squirt the floor, the outside half door feature is well worth the inconvenience. Another drawback is not having an open top to the ice dispenser inside. To get ice cubes from inside, the holder must be removed. Once again, not a big deal as I keep a cup nearby when wanting cube ice in an already filled glass. There is no labeled meat compartment but instead, two vegetable/fruit bins. We solved that by getting refrigerator bins, which are easier to clean than the pull out compartments if meat juices spill. The shelves could be a little more flexible in adjustments -- some heights between shelves cannot be achieved. But all in all, very happy with the refrigerator and love, love, love the outer door for storing condiments , drinks and wine.

I bought this as a 'scratch-n-dent. All my life I never understood the purpose of a side by side as you cannot fit a pizza in the freezer! Well guess what, ya still can't. But, I realize the having the freezer spaced out (top to bottom) actually allows me to better stack stuff and thereby find it easier. One thing fridge manufacturers need to do is to put bins in freezers to help- which I did take from my old fridge and use in this freezer. This fridge has a door-in-a-door which allow me to keep the things I use more often up front and only open a half door. Things like wine bottles, large bottles of Irish cream and a gallon of milk. Sadly, if you need more tall space, there really is nothing else in the fridge without losing 2 shelves. Example- the tallest you can make an interior shelf inside is 10.5" and a wine bottle uncorked is almost 12"...see the dilemma? So, you are limited in tall items. Regular items??? TONS of room!!! Ice and water on door is nice. I am not an ice person but now I no longer have to listen to guests whine about lack of ice. Sadly the filtered water taste more like chlorine than my tap water and after reading up on this the consensus is the filter that comes with the fridge is a crappy filter. The panel on the door shows the temp of the fridge and freezer and is easily adjustable from the outside. You also have the option of cubes and crushed ice. And I guess there is a lock but until my cats figure out how to open this fridge...I am not going to bother with the lock.

We like this refrigerator. It has a LOT of space in the freezer. The ability to just open part of the door is great! We were pleasantly surprised that some of our everyday items fit in the smaller bins in the door. We have a couple tall items that don’t fit and the stainless gathers fingerprints more easily than our last frig; other than that, we are extremely happy!

There's an abundance of room for me as a single senior. I don't even know what to put on the shelves on the lower part of the refrigerator door. I have noticed you need to be sure to latch door-in-door part. I like that the ice maker is in the door and I can see how much ice I have and lift the ice container out as needed. The water dispenser takes some getting used to, but overall I like that ice and water are separated.

We had been talking about getting a new refrigerator for some time as the last one we had, the ice maker caught on fire. I don’t want to mention brand names, but I will anyway, it was a Samsung. We needed a refrigerator then and didn’t have a lot of money at the time, but you don’t expect that. If we had not been home our house could have caught on fire. Then, after a few years, not as long as one should last the Samsung quit working altogether. We had looked at LG in the past and were going to spend more money that we did, but again, we were not quite ready to do that so we ended up with this model. We left the temperature set where the factory had set it, but after 48 hours it was not as cold as we prefer, so we set it a little lower and so far, it is very cold. The freezer is working well at the factory setting. We love the door-in-door feature. This makes it very convenient for getting stuff you use a lot. There is plenty of room for now, so far, the biggest “Con” with this model is, NO cheese drawer. All our previous models had them. Not sure why LG did not think this part out. We are having the ice maker hooked up by a plumber and if it works well great, but if there are issues I will revise my review. I am giving this refrigerator four (4) stars for two reasons, lack of a cheese drawer and not sure how the ice maker will function until after it is hooked up. For now, I would recommend this right now if this model fits your needs.

This side by side door refrigerator has more space then appears in freezer and refrigerator, very quite, and has alarm if door is left open. Control panel very easy to use. The only draw back is you have to push the door in door and, shelving is not quite adjustable enough, but able to work around this, miner problem. very easy to see your inventory. Love this product, LG does it again for me.

    Awesome Fridge

This fridge have being an awesome choice for our home. When my wife and I went to the Best Buy store to check on some fridge, I must confess that I didn't like this one. Mainly because is this 2 doors concept is kind of old (Yes, I was driven through a French door). But my wife made me think about it and we checked it and, turns out to be the most rational choice (for the price, offers way more Gadgets and comfort than a price comparable french door, and it is BIG)... So, hating it a little bit from my side we bought it and I CAN'T BE HAPPIER now... My wife was right (as usual) and this fridge is awesome, it is beautiful, the black stain steel is marvelous and this is a veeeeeeery BIIIIIIIIG fridge... besides, the small access door to the refrigerator's door is very very handy for small items like sauce and bottles of water (or beer, whichever moves you)... Also the water filter is easy to replace in a very convenient and comfortable position (be advise though... at the beginning , the water tastes a little bit "plasticky" but with time the flavor disappear ... or you become use to it not sure lol... but jokes aside, once that disappear, is awesome!!!) We also love the controls of the temperature and ice making and the possibility to block it for the little ones. Totally recommended, this is more fridge that many out there with a better price!

I received the LG 26cu ft side-by-side two weeks ago and my family loves it, especially the option of opening up the door to get a soft drink without opening the whole refrigerator door. The fridge runs quietly, so far! My kids love the size of the ice cubes that it makes, small and cute. Plenty of room everywhere! So far, we love it! I'd purchased a 3 year extended warranty from Best Buy just to have peace of mind.

I PROMISED MY HUSBAND THAT I COULD NOT LOVE A REFRIGERATOR, BUT I WAS WRONG. THIS ONE FITS OUR HOUSEHOLD. WE ENTERTAIN A LOT AND THE REFRIGERATOR IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT FOR US. THE DOOR IN THE DOOR WORKS FOR MULTIPLE OPENINGS AND CLOSINGS FOR DRINKS. THE FREEZER SIDE IS DEFINITELY LARGER THAN OTHER SIDE-BY-SIDES WITH ICE IN THE DOOR. THE SPACESAVER ICE MAKER, WORKS FOR US AND LEAVES MORE ROOM BY HAVING A TOP SHELF. WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH OUR PURCHASE.

I absolutely love this fridge. It's the best and most space-optimized of any that I have ever had. The door in door feature is a dream come true!!!! The only tiny complaint that I have is the small ice bin on the freezer door. I would prefer the much larger one that is on the top shelf, but that would take away shelf space. I also love the black stainless steel. It's a gorgeous color.

Beautiful stainless steel refrigerator. The door within a door is very useful. Every item within this door area stays very cold as does the rest of the refrigerator and freezer. The refrigerator does have two issues. 1. The door within a door does not close as a normal refrigerator. You must close the door fully by hand and assure it does not pop back open. I have not heard an alarm if that door stays open. 2. My wife and I think the refrigerator compressor is very noisy. According to the instructions, it runs longer than older refrigerators. The sound is very noticable.

We love this refrigerator, it's very spacious and great looking in our kitchen, But be aware that it will not fit through a 36" doorway. You must take the doors off to get it in the house. we love the 3rd door feature which allows us to just get our drinks or condiments out without opening the whole door.

This refrigerator gives our family so much more refrigerator space than what we had before. It is nice to have the additional front door to put things that can be grabbed quickly, such as bottled waters, sports drinks, and condiments. The ice machine and water dispenser is something that used often and works well. Would recommend this refrigerator.

This refrigerator has the same capacity as our previous one, but the distribution is better, as it never seems as crowded as the old one did. We love the door-in-door. It allows us to access commonly used items quickly, without exposing the whole refrigerator to the warmer room air. I will say, it is a rather noisy refrigerator. It doesn't really bother us, though. We joke that there is a cat and a swarm of bees in it. I wish the shelves had more adjustment levels. Tall items, such as cartons of milk and juice, will only fit in the door. And there is not cold cut/cheese drawer, but we have gotten used to that. We also have to be careful not to move the glass out from under the water dispenser too quickly, because the last bit of water will shoot out onto the floor, due to the water dispenser being in front of the ice dispenser. But, again, something we got used to easily. Overall, we are very happy with the purchase. After one month, so far so good.
