Customers often highlight the monitor's large screen size, competitive price, and ease of use as significant advantages. Positive feedback also frequently mentions the resolution and smooth refresh rate, contributing to a positive viewing experience. However, some users express concerns about the stability of the stand and the lack of integrated speakers. A limited number of HDMI ports is also a recurring point of criticism.

This is a nice, budget-friendly monitor for anyone who just needs an external monitor. It doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles, but it provides a nice, high-quality video connection from a host device and makes it very easy for users to get up and running quickly.
Setup
This monitor has a hassle-free setup. I didn’t need any tools, which was refreshing. The stand effortlessly attaches to the monitor’s body with the aid of a thumb screw on the bottom of the stand’s base. The stand isn’t much, but it does allow users to tilt the monitor as needed. As an alternative, the monitor is also VESA compatible and can be mounted using most types of monitor mounts.
User Testing
This is a very simple monitor to set up. You select either the VGA or HDMI input option and run the proper cable to your host computer. Then you connect it to power. Once you turn it on you can adjust the settings as needed using the monitor’s menu, which is controlled using a rear-mounted button. This was a little awkward to use, but it wasn’t impossible. The HD resolution provided a very nice picture for me and I found it to be adequate for the work I was doing and the videos I wanted to watch. Since this is such an affordable monitor, I think the average user would be happy with it.
Pros
Simple setup
Stand can tilt
Great for viewing content and standard home/office use
Cons
Lack of display input options
Would be lacking in features for creative professionals
Height cannot be adjusted via the stand

Just got my hands on this LG monitor and I’m blown away! Crisp resolution, vibrant colors, and buttery-smooth refresh rate – it’s like giving my eyes a first-class ticket. Whether I’m working, gaming, or binge-watching, this monitor handles it all effortlessly. Sleek design, minimal bezels, and plug-and-play ease make it a winner. LG really knows how to impress!

Lots of hits with two minor misses

There’s a lot to like with the LG 27MR400 monitor. The picture is great; the price is certainly reasonable for the value and it’s attractive on my desktop among other things. But there are two annoying things about the design for me personally that prevent me from giving it a full five stars.
Let’s focus on the positives first though, since they outweigh the minor annoyances that I encountered. I don’t think I’ve ever put together a monitor quicker than this one. I love that it was not only so logical that I never looked at the quick start guide, but also that it required absolutely no tools to set up. And it’s thoughtful that LG includes a decent HDMI cable in the box. That may not seem like a big deal. But fewer and fewer companies are including cables of any sort in their offerings.
Out of the box, the image quality was excellent, but with a little tuning for my setup it got even better. The resolution enhancement feature makes typography crisp and easily readable which is something that’s become more important to me as I get older, and my eyesight is effectively losing some sharpness. The control method uses a rear mounted button and four-way switch, which is easy to navigate once you use it. (The menu is a little convoluted at times, but I’d be willing to chalk that up to it being new to me.) I’m not using this for gaming - just day to day standard PC uses – but there seems to be enough features available to make it suitable for a mid-range gaming setup. I was pleased with the resolution, color rendition and contrast. And the anti-glare coating on the screen works well even rivalling the two HP monitors that are flanking it on either side. For the price, I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with the image quality.
Aesthetically, it’s certainly nice looking on my setup. But I did have two issues with the design. First was the decision power adapter design. Because the plug and transformer are one piece, it was impossible for me to connect it to my UPS or power strip without using an extender. Fortunately, I had one in my cable box, but I would have been happier if it used either a standard PC power cord or at least had one that plugged into the adapter as many other monitors do. But even with an extender, the power cable is a scant 3 feet long and I had to stretch it a bit for my setup. This was compounded by the fact that they put the input all the way on the left side of the monitor next to the HDMI input.
I get that they did this to keep the circuit board as one piece for manufacturing efficiency, but it made the whole thing that much more of an issue. This could be easily solved by using a better adapter design or at the very least, including an extra foot or two of power cable. For these reasons, I can’t personally give it five stars, but they may be less of an issue to other users. But in every other respect, I think it hits the mark and I think the majority of users would be quite happy with the 27MR400.

Pros: This monitor was the perfect size & had nice crisp graphics. The 100Hz should cover what someone would be looking for in a high performance/gaming monitor. It has a nice, smooth picture with no lag! The blue light filter is an added bonus for those that are on the computer or gaming a lot too. Cons: It has short legs & is not height adjustable, but it does have the tilt screen option. I also didn't know that it's commonplace now that most monitors don't have integrated speakers. That is all a must for me so I returned it, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone that uses a wireless headset or plugs into something else for sound!

The monitors are great. They have great resolution and are a good size for the use. I use them for my at home office. I deal primarily in spreadsheets. Refresh rate is great. My only annoyance is how you turn off the monitor. You have to hold down the power button since the button is similar to all LJ products. Other than that they are great.

I recently added the LG 27" IPS FHD monitor to my setup—and here’s what stood out:
Stunning Design & Crisp Visuals
• The sleek 3-side borderless bezels give a modern, immersive look—perfect for multi-monitor setups or clean desk aesthetics.
• The 27″ Full HD (1920×1080) IPS panel delivers vibrant colors with wide 178° viewing angles and 99% sRGB coverage
Smooth Performance & Adaptive Sync
• A 100 Hz refresh rate makes everyday scrolling, browsing, and casual video playback noticeably smoother than the typical 60 Hz displays
• AMD FreeSync helps reduce screen tearing and stuttering during gaming or dynamic onscreen movement
Eye Comfort & Smart Features
• Reader Mode reduces blue light for more comfortable long‑form reading. Flicker Safe further minimizes eye strain during extended use
• Extra utilities like Dynamic Action Sync, Black Stabilizer, Crosshair, and OnScreen Control elevate both productivity and gaming usability
Set‑Up & Ergonomics
• The tilt-adjustable stand offers basic ergonomic support (–5° to +20°), though height or swivel adjustments aren't available. Wall-mounting compatibility is provided (100 × 100 mm)
• Input options include HDMI 1.4, D‑Sub, and a headphone jack; note there's no built‑in speaker

So I purchased this monitor not expecting anything fancy and guess what… it met my expectations lol. It’s a nice simple monitor that has simple colors and no speakers. I went from an ultrawide to this and it’s nice and all but I don’t think I’m satisfied. If you want an above average monitor for business and basic work you will love this!

Im not sure if id buy it at full price, but on sale its a solid pick. I have an older monitor as well and the color, refresh rate, and quality is a relieving difference. A good choice for a casual gamer or someone who’s looking for the aformentioned qualities. My only issue personally is that you cant adjust the screen angle or height from the base, but assemble was very easy.

Good overall. Good resolution and a nice size. The supplied stand is a little clunky and short, so I bought a taller stand that uses the rear mounting holes and swivels a bit easier. I had matched this with a MacBook Air, which turns out can only support a 60Hz Refresh rate. The monitor crashed my computer until I researched and made adjustments. Once I aligned the settings everything was fine.

After having an "All in One" computer with a 27" screen, that was 11 years old and on it's last leg, I received a new laptop for Christmas, which I loved, but was having trouble with reading the screen easily; reading glasses didn't work and my computer glasses were not quite the answer either. As my husband watched my struggle, he found this great monitor for me! It's bold, bright and just perfect. It was easy to hook up - just plug in, attach a cable to my laptop, turn on and push a button on my computer - and I had a big screen to look at and read with no problem! The colors are vivid and bright and the screen does not lag behind the computer at all, refreshing very fast! I love this enhancement to my computer!

With a high refresh rate and excellent color and clarity, this monitor was a great value purchase. The thin border edges make it feel larger than it is and help with immersion. I took off a star because there is only 1 hdmi port (I had to switch from using a display cable) and the stand only pivots up/down a few degrees. Overall very satisfied with the monitor and would highly recommend a purchase.

I puchased this monitor on sale around christmas time, and couldn't be happier. The refresh rate is good, the picture quality is nice, and its good size for everyday use. I am not a gamer, so i dont need anything crazy in a monitor. Wish i had this monitor at work, would make things much easier when using multiple windows.

Lovely monitor with one design flaw

This monitor is great because it's borderless, large in size, and affordable. What is not great about it is the way it sits on the stand. The stand is attached to the monitor at the bottom rather than the top, so gravity makes the screen on this top-heavy, and it therefore angles downward. We resolved this by sticking tile wedges beneath monitor base and desk for a modern, classy look.

100hz is the bare minimum for good quality when it comes to movies or gaming, and this monitor has it for a cheap price. the only downside is that the height is not adjustable, the screen can't tilt, and there are no speakers in it. however, for a simple and economic monitor, it's great! its more for viewing work or writing documents!
