We needed a new washer, as our old LG washer was giving up the ghost, it would consistently give the dreaded IE error, and would not finish a load. We’ve never had a dryer, so we’ve always either hung the wash out on the clothes line, or on the drying rack. Clothes and especially towels would end up a bit rough. But on vacation we stayed where they had washers and dryers, and my wife loved how soft things ended up. So when we got home and our washer refused to finish a load, I researched washers, but especially washer/dryer combos. It seemed that there were basically 3 or 4 manufacturers that made them, and they all use a small heat pump to dry the clothes. Reading reviews on numerous sites, it became apparent that there were issues with lint clogging up the condensers, and looking at the actual lint filters on each machine it was easy to see why. Most of them used a slide in, slide out filter that really did not completely block the passage of lint, letting lint get by the filter and clogging up the condenser fins. I saw some owners trying to use a rubber gasket around the filter to block the passage of lint, but with very limited success, and the gasket would quickly be damaged by the plastic filter sliding in and out on it, so it would likely lose its effectiveness. Others would have to call for an expensive service call to come and disassemble the top of the machine to get at the condenser to clean it. And the process of removing the lint from the condenser fins was a difficult job at best, involving taking much of the top of the machine apart to get at the fins, and then running the risk of damaging the fins in the process of removing the lint from them. None of these options are ideal. But the lint filter in the LG washer/dryer combo was different. Instead of a slide in, slide out rack, it has a 2 stage filter on the top of the machine that snaps in and out, with no spaces around it to allow lint to get around the filter, and end up clogging up the condenser fins. And the filter has 2 stages. The main filter that you pop out and clean after each wash, is the first line of defense, and the second stage is easy to keep an eye on, so you can snap that out to clean in case any lint gets by the main filter. Then between the filter and the condenser fins there is a small screen that you can pop out by removing one screw to remove it, then allowing easy access to vacuum off the condenser fins with a soft vacuuming brush to remove any possible lint that might conceivably get by the 2 filters. I think this is a much better lint filter system that the others. And that is why we bought the LG washer/dryer combo. So far it has worked very well. Yes, using it is a bit different than using a typical separate washer and dryer. We bought 6 wool dryer balls that help any dryer do better, including this one. We have found that it typically takes about 2 1/2 hours to do a wash and dry load, depending on what we are washing and drying. At first that sounds like a long time, but consider: that time involves washing and drying. I’m not sure how long washing and drying using 2 separate machines takes, as in the past, we’ve only used a washer, no dryer. But I’d be willing to guess that most separate washing, then switching the laundry to drying probably takes about the same amount of time as this one does, without our having to switch the laundry from one machine to the other. And as I said, using a washer/dryer combo machine is a bit different process than 2 separate stand alone machines. We were careful to read the user manual and follow LG’s guidance for what will work best. We use a small amount of HE liquid laundry detergent. We personally decided to not use the detergent dispenser, it’s just another thing we’d have to periodically clean, so we just place a small capful of detergent in each wash load. And because we have our own septic system, we don’t use bleach, and we don’t use dryer sheets. We use wool dryer balls to help the dryer do a good job. We separate our wash loads by type of laundry load. We clean the lint filter after each load. We leave the door open between loads to let it dry out and help prevent any mildew or musty smells. But that’s about it. It’s not difficult, it’s actually pretty easy, it’s maybe just different than what we might have been used to. But so far, we like it, my wife loves how soft everything comes out. The pedestal lifts the washer to give easier access.

I wish I had bought these when I bought the washer and dryer. Installation is straightforward and the hardest part was moving the washer and dryer to and from the location where there was space to attach the pedestals. They are functional, rugged, and attractive, providing storage for laundry supplies and they match the washer and dryer perfectly. The best part is the added height. I no longer have to bend over or kneel on the floor to load and unload laundry.

These pedestals are a BACK SAVER! I am an average height of 5'6" and these pedestals raise the washer and dryer to a more comfortable height to get the clothes in and out of each one. This is especially true when there are heavy wet towels or a comforter in the washer.(Or if a lonely sock is missing/hiding stuck to the top of the washing machine basket! Ha ha) No more awkward bending, twisting, pulling and tugging. No more sore backs from doing laundry! :) My child is only 4'8" and can also comfortably use the washer and dryer with them on the pedestals. I personally like the sleek look of the washer and dryer on the pedestals and how they match the washer and dryer perfectly. The drawers glide smoothly, even with heavier items in there. The basket that comes with and fits inside the drawer of the pedestal is a nice bonus. When I forget to bring our basket in and I already have a load in the dryer, I just open the drawer and dump those clothes into the basket and transfer the laundry from the washer to the dryer. Dividers for the drawers were also included, I just havent needed to use them. You won't be sorry if you purchase these. The quality is great, not cheaply made. I wanted to leave a review to maybe help others decide on these.

Really like the added height for loading and unloading clothes and both washer and dryer that these pedestals give. And the additional storage that the drawer gives is great!

Perfect for washer dryer combo! Makes the LGWasher Dryer combo the perfect height for putting in and removing laundry. The ample storage space it offers is a bonus!

This is the perfect unit!! I waited to purchase because all of the dry tube connects set me off. DON’T LISTEN to the naysayers. Yes, we’re a smaller family household (we only do 4 loads of laundry a week) but the dry time is not extreme. When you open the dryer at the chime (cute little chime song lets you know everything is dry) you feel the steamy freshness on the clothes. But it’s gone by the time you dry the towel or shirt. The clothes are SOFTER. They don’t feel over dried!! They smell fresher!! I love it smart wash feature I love not transferring wet clothes. I use dryer balls so I do pause and drop them in and simply restart without incident.
When you compare the price of top of the line sets this is very competitive and compact.
Of a did I mention how whisper quiet it is??!! It’s the first time I’ve done laundry without closing the door to reduce the sound.
Best buy in ever made for a washer dryer unit. It’s been ten years. Wow. This unit is a game changer.

Pedestal offers lots of storage and the drawer is easily accessible. The elevation the pedestals provide is a nice improvement to easily load and unload laundry.

These were very easy to install and work very well to secure my washer and dryer while providing a nice height that is ergonomic and easier to load and unload. And, good storage underneath.

The pedestal is of good quality. It is well adjusted to the washer with screws (something I did not know) in order to avoid slips from the pedestal once mounted. I gave 4-star rating because after installing the pedestal, detergent compartments resulted something uncomfortable to reach (our family is about 5' 7" average). If you are about that height, please consider avoiding this item to your washer.

Looks good with the paired dryer and the depot slides smoothly. I like the integrated basket but definitely expensive for what they are.

The photos show that this item comes with a divider. It does not. According to LG, that is not even something they make for this pedestal, even though it does have the drop in slots for a divider. I tried calling Best Buy Customer Service ans was transferred to TEN DIFFERENT PEOPLE. I was told to “simply” box them up ans take them to the store where I’d get an exchange for ones with dividers. That was a flat out lie to get me off the phone. If someone 3D printed a divider, I’d buy them! Also, you cannot fit bottles of detergent in these pedestals. The bottles will end up being about 2 inches too tall for them to close. All in all, I like the height they add to the washer/dryer so I can save my back by not bending over, but they arent useful for anything other than that. Not sure why exactly they come with laundry baskets. $300 is too much for the aimple fact they arent very useful outside of the height factor.
