I needed a pedestal since I purchased a front loader. This one is high enough so that excess bending is eliminated. Plus, it has a handy storage drawer.

While I think they are a bit on the pricey side, they raise the washer and dryer to a height that makes doing laundry far more convenient. Considering how many years a washer and dryer last, the pedestals are worth the investment.

We love the added height to the machine as it makes loading and unloading much easier on our backs. The additional storage space underneath is an added bonus and comes in handing for storing rags and towels for the dogs bath and additional cleaning supplies.

I know you are saying that the price of these things is a little much for what you get. I've said it, too. But doing without a pedestal for a while will change your mind. We replaced our washer and did not buy the pedestal to go with it. We thought not having the pedestal would be no big deal. Wrong. We didn't particularly need the pedestal for its storage capacity but the convenience of having the door level with the dryer's door. It really does make a big difference. The pedestal arrived assembled and the easy instructions had it installed in no time.

Puts the LG at a great height. No major bending over to get laundry out. Easy to install, just need extra hands to lift unit ontop of.

We really love the pedestals. First, it provides extra storage space; second, because the washer and dryer are front-loaded, it raised up the washer and dryer so I don't have to bend down to much.
